Physical Description: N’den is a handsome enough man. He stands 5’6” with a well-muscled body from a turns of dragon riding and only has a small wine belly that has recently developed. His face and hands are weathered brown from so many turns in the sun. His hair is light blond which he keeps very short in a buzz cut to keep cool in the western heat. N’den has light green eyes. He likes to wear fine, colorful leather clothes.
Personality: N’den is a highly perceptive man. He often shows keen insight and understanding of situations which makes him an excellent rider; he’s able to adjust quickly to changes in the wing, thread, or when he’s flirting. Being a rider, and a good one, has given him a certain chip on his shoulder. N’den walks with confidence wherever he goes. His interactions with male holders can certainly come off as condescending or arrogant.
When around other riders, particularly women riders, and women in general, N’den is very gregarious. He loves to be sociable with the opposite sex and frequently seeks out their company. Women of the holds are equally fair game for his advances. N’den has a certain reputation around Western Weyr and local holds of being a womanizer; which is certainly well deserved given his four children by several different women. He’s not super particular if the women are weyr or hold bred.
N’den loves to cause feelings of happiness and enthusiasm among his favorites. He often brings gifts and sometimes wine when he visits to bring feelings of excitement to his ladies. They should be happy and overjoyed to see him! When he does get wine, more often than not he will drink it himself. He does have an unhealthy fondness for wine and should be watched carefully around it.

History: Nyalden was born to a pair of unassuming cavern workers of Western Weyr. He grew up like many weyrbrats. He had his friends and his rivals; the young boy got into the usual amount of trouble any child does. An accident while playing when he was 9 resulted in a broken arm, but thanks to quick intervention by the weyrhealer he healed up normally.
He quickly discovered girls and the joys of hanging out with them. Nyalden was often tormented by the other male weyrbrats for the flock of ladies he kept around him. Often he was mocked and told he hung out with girls so much he should have been born one. He knew the other boys were just jealous that all the girls were interested in him.
When he was 19, after standing for numerous clutches at Western Weyr, an angry brown singled him out from among his group of ladies. Come away from them, Nyaldenmine. You have no need for such a gaggle when your Belengath is here. N’den, as he later decided to shorten his name, was enthused with his new dragon even if they didn’t always see eye to eye on the matter of women.
He has managed to impress two firelizards. Both times he was lucky enough to find a wild firelizard clutch hatching on the beach. The first time, he impressed a blue he named Eito when he was 26, and the second time he attracted a green he named Rilessu when he was 28.
His first child was born to a cavern worker of Western Weyr when he was 33. It was the result of a fling from a flight. N’den sired a second child, also a girl, on a woman from Black Sands. Everything seemed fine for 7 turns but then mother and child suddenly vanished. N'den spent as much free time as he could spare for three turns searching for the pair. Eventually 3 turns later he tracked them down to Bitra Hold. The mother had passed away from unknown causes, but N'den claimed Sonnaden as his own and brought her back to the weyr. His last children were twins born to a woman who lived at a minor hold of Western Weyr’s territory. They were born when he was 44. His children were not aware they had half siblings.
Tradedy struck his family of the minor hold when he was 58. A bad fall occurred over the minor hold. As soon as he was freed from his duties as a rider he sent his two firelizards to check up on his family there. When word came back the twin’s mother, Cinrae, had perished the brownrider went immediately set things up for the twins to move to the Weyr. The next day N’den arrived at the minor hold, helped his children pack up and load their meager belongings onto Belengath, and brought them to the Weyr.
He was grateful when his oldest child, Bionden, instantly took to the orphans and helped them get their bearings. N’den loved all his children and was happy to have them at the weyr. He eagerly watched each hatching in the hopes that one or more would be found acceptable by a dragon. So far, no dragon has stepped forward to claim one, and now Bionden is nearing the end of her term as a candidate. He hopes she will find her dragon among this last clutch.

DRAGON
Name: Belengath
Age: 43 turns
Color: Brown
Size: 35’
Physical Description: Belengath is a hefty brown with slightly shorter legs than normal for his color, making him look rather stocky and built low to the ground. His wings are perfect to give him good maneuverability. His flame tends toward short and broad.
Personality: Belengath likes the quieter life. He is easily angered by the loud and raunchy, and can snap with scathing remarks about the behavior. Unlike his rider, the brown much more prefers the quiet company of 1 or 2 close friends. He is paranoid the woman are just there to use his rider for their advantage. Belengath dislikes letting any of them ride him if they are not riders themselves and makes no bones about showing it.
He doesn’t like N’den’s womanizing ways. The brown wants to see the man settle down with a good woman, though it doesn’t look like it’ll happen any time soon. Belengath will often point out good potential women to his rider, but usually gets the shrug off by N’den in favor of some of his hanger ons. He also disapproves of his rider drinking too much. Belengath monitors his rider and lets N’den know when he’s hit his limit.
This dragon is smart. He’s able to utilize he’s rider’s good perception of situations and act. This is particularly useful during threadfall. Even without his rider, Belengath is able to think on his feet. He is a simple dragon with simple enjoyments in life. A sunny ledge or beach, a fine herdbeast, or an afternoon being doted upon by his rider is all that it takes to make him happy.
