By now, all the numbweed and earlier treatment they'd received from the healers had dulled I'ar's pain and burning nerves into a calm fog, They were lucky enough to find themselves in a relatively calm patch for now, and Rouleth took a deep breath while he had the opportunity, letting it out slowly. Just a little longer now, and they'd get to go home.

Rouleth's tail lashed behind him, unable to keep himself still with the emotions stirring in his hearts. They'd come so far with this fall, and they were all so close to getting through--even still, they'd watched a few more dragons fall from the skies, caught by golden queens below just in time. This had been a particularly grueling round of threadfall, and the thought that they'd suffered this much chafed him. What else could he do but continue to fight, though?

Finally, a scrap of thread appeared before them, and Rouleth was all too happy to take his anger out on it. Their situation was far more dire than he'd ever have liked to admit, but he knew they'd make it through. I'ar needed to be home resting, and he was going to make damn sure that His made it back alright.

I'ar's still plenty quick with their between coordinates, thankfully enough, and Rouleth is glad to see that they've come out far away from the cluster of thread they'd almost finished off. As much as he hated to just let it go, they didn't have much of a choice--pushing too hard could get His hurt worse, and as much as he liked playing the odds, that was one gamble the Brown refused to take.

At this point, the wind was picking up again. Rouleth could see some of his fellow chromatics getting blown around all the harder by it, but his wings were already used to the strain. They were almost there--any minute now, they'd get to go home, and Rouleth would give it everything he had until then.
