Hour 4, Round 2 1. -10 HP (+additional -5)
As they returned to their place in formation after failing once again to properly execute a catch, Sylfie and Hesperith were feeling worse and worse on just about every level. But as they commiserated with each other, a clump fell where they couldn't see it, not in the dark, and it was upon them and eating away before they knew it. Sylfie shrieked, but had enough presence of mind to visualize where they should jump to, and the pair went Between.
They returned, but did so hurting, Hesperith especially. It had caught her wingsail, her neck and shoulders, and even some of her side, while some had hit Sylfie's back.

Though they were in no little pain, and Sylfie couldn't help but worry about her dragon, Hesperith assured her that she was perfectly able to carry on, and so they did. When an errant strand of Thread drifted near on the wind, Sylfie burned it to ash.

Whatever was happening above, for the moment, it seemed like it was mostly smaller, easy-to-miss strands that were getting through, but Sylfie and Hesperith were happy to take care of them. It was something useful to do.

As you're looking for the rogue Thread, you notice one of your wingmates in danger. You and your dragon call out warning and are lucky to see the pair respond. Quote a Wingmate and have all damage removed from their most recent roll!
Though most of the trouble seemed to be above them, some of those flying with the queens sometimes got into trouble too. Aedeth bugled a warning to one of them.

A sudden gust of wind kicks up, threatening to push your dragon out of formation. Thankfully, this gust doesn't have anything on your dragon! You easily fight through it, and find your dragon isn't really winded at all. All that exercise and training seems to be paying off. +1 General Stamina
The wind was the least of Aedeth's concerns at the moment. Of course that could change, but in the moment, she just wasn't worried.

The Thread that you were diving to catch is suddenly blown towards you. In a swift move, you hop Between and appear beside it, effortlessly flaming it down. +1 Between Accuracy
Besides, Niobet and Aedeth had tricks and techniques that puny bits of Thread ouldn't hope to avoid.
You see a stray strand writhe out of the corner of your eye. Your rider quickly twists in her seat, and catches the errant strand with a well-timed aim of their flamethrower! +1 Target Accuracy
Once more, the flamethrower spat, and another length of Thread became nothing more thn ashy memory.
It had been a day that would not soon be forgotten. What was important, though, most importnt to remember was that Thread had not bested High Reaches. The wings had survived and they would fly to battle Thread again.
