Physical Description: Curly brown hair caps Bandriv's 6' frame, often charmingly falling into and half-hiding his even darker eyes. Stubble (that's just finally thickening enough to look intentionally scruffy, and not like that's all he can manage to grow) makes him look somewhat more mature, and charming if you ask him. His jaw is fairly square, strong but slightly block-ish to match his general sturdy, solid build. A small diagonal scar bisects his left eyebrow, and a slightly larger nick has left a bare divot in his chin (and creating a sort of false cleft at a glance)—nothing spectacular, just the remnants of a rowdy childhood and youth, really.
His style is basic but refined—he cares more for quality of leather and cloth than ornamentation. Browns, reds, some grays and greens are his go-tos, fine-grain leather and lush fabrics, but with no embroidery or decoration. He likes boots, like capes, like belts and furs.
Personality: Bandriv is a keen-eyed, watchful, unfortunately clever and witty fellow. Most often found with a grin across his face, he exudes confidence and swagger, and walks the halls of the weyr like he's the Weyrleader himself, not just a lowly candidate. Of course, he knows when to back down, knows when he's facing his actual betters, but even then, he knows his own potential. He knows that of all the Weyrs, High Reaches is the best, and that means of all the candidates, he's among the best. It doesn't matter that he's done hardly a thing to get there, it's the luck of birth, and he's fine with that. Luck is important after all, and it's a bummer if anyone else wasn't born as fortunate.
That said, confidence is appealing, and attractive, and with his level of swagger he's got a goodly sized gaggle of friends and followers. And because he's the best, well, they're the best... beneath him, of course! He's quite good at winning people over, sussing out what they care about and spinning things in his favor to appeal to them. He's got an eye for what people are sensitive about too, weaknesses or perceived faults, and has been known, at least in his younger years, to pick at those points when he thinks someone else is getting too big for their britches. His self-confidence is unfailing, his drive is unwavering... his motives might not be the clearest or best, more focused on earning praise and rank than actually helping the little people... but that said, he would never be the type to give up the fight. Because he's the best, and the best... well, the best win.

History: He was born in High Reaches Weyr and that's honestly all he's ever known. Raised around dragons, the child of some brown rider member of the old guard. He grew up not just thinking, but knowing High Reaches is the best Weyr on Pern. And doing his best to claim a bit of that trickle-down glory for himself on the sands. Thread's return only seemed to light further fire under him—now is the age of heroes, and he fully plans to be among High Reaches' brightest shining stars, once his dragon hatches.
