To be honest, when I first saw the trailer, I hated it instantly, but the movie is actually alright. Usually when Disney broaches this topic matter, it's a live action Disney Channel exclusive and (no offense) awful and poorly conceived or a tv show and just kinda...meh... (in my opinion), but they actually sprung for a legit not-direct-to-tv production and I didn't hate it.
I was... pleasantly surprised? A solid B. Still awkward, don't get me wrong, but in a good way. Kinda takes me back to the 90s a little too... surprised
