B-Rank Cooking Missions x 30 (120 Sentences)
Shirogane had been visiting Tanigakure, desiring to sort of open a future restaurant there. He had an understanding with the village that while he was not a member and did not directly work for them, he would abide by their laws and rules. There he met with an owner of a local brewery, a small operation, it was on the verge of closing down. The owner is named Marabishi Reimoto and the brewery was named after him, Reimoto’s Specialty Brewery. Marabishi one day would approach Shirogane, a dire look in his face, “Well, enjoy that sake, Shiro. Unfortunately we’ll be closing doors in about a month. We just don’t compete with the big conglomerates anymore. They’re able to make brews that are cheap. Getting drunk cheap is all they care about these days…” Shirogane, nicknamed Shiro, as he was on pretty decent terms with Marabishi, had drunk down his sweet peach sake and turned to Marabishi. “Come on now, Marabishi. It’s a bit soon to be talking so dismally. Surely, there’s something we could do to bring in new customers. Something that would make them want to drink here over the conglomerates.” Shirogane responded, somewhat dismissing Marabishi’s problems.

Marabishi would sit down next to Shirogane pouring his own glass of sake. The owner of the brewery, with a defeated expression, drank half of the glass, before stating, “I’m not joking with you Shiro. I’m done. I guess people just don’t like home brewed drinks anymore… But, if there was something that could help me save the business, it’d be something that makes legendary brews. A rare ingredient known as Rainbow Hops found at a far point deep in the nearby forest. I used to make my special Rainbow Brew, it was such a hit that people were willing to spend extra just for a pint. Marabishi would go on to explain the golden age of his brewery, when the place was always packed, and had people who would order to-go as well as even try to customize their own special brews that were distinctly theirs. But, once the conglomerates came everything changed. Shiro sighed and he would pat Marabishi on the shoulder, responding to him, “A years worth. On the house, Marabishi. Whenever I want it. I’ll bring your Rainbow Hops back.” Standing up from the bar and heading for the exit, Marabishi would seem to color deeper with life. “Really? You’ll bring them back for me, Shiro? But, that side of the forest isn’t safe anymore. There’s a gang of rogue shinobi that use it as a base of operations…

Shiro continued to head out the door and seemed to salute Marabishi with his hands, his red hair the last thing Marabishi would see. But, he left a final message, “Then I guess it will be a meeting of rogue shinobi. Except, they will have to play nice or face some consequences of their own design.” Heading deeper into the Land of Rivers, he would take to the trees moving swiftly but keeping his eyes open. It was always dangerous territory outside of the rogue base of operations and Tanigakure. But, for his old friend and for a year-long guaranteed drink, Shirogane was going to do some local work. As he continued traveling, he would find himself deeper and deeper in the Land of Rivers. Trees, water, rocks. Nothing seemed to evolve or change in this wild place. If there was a wild west in the shinobi world, this place was it. He would lay witness to a group of shinobi fighting one another with various jutsu. But, he would duck down and keep moving. He had no desire to be caught up in something that might slow him down. Following a map that Marabishi had given him, he was roughly two-thirds of the way to where he needed to be. It would be at a location just before the Darkwood Crossing.

Reaching the designated location, that’s when Shirogane had noticed there was a shinobi bearing a large eyepatch and a tattoo of a skull with a snake protruding through it. He would look at Shirogane and bark, “If you want to go through to Darkwood Crossing you need to pay the traveling tax. We provide safety in these parts.” Shirogane would study him for a moment, his eyes scanning the area in case he had others supporting him. Making sure to exert a confident aura, he would step forward and respond cool, “I’m not going to Darkwood Crossing. I’m here to pick up some plants in the area. They shine like rainbows. Maybe you’ve heard of the Rainbow Hops.” The man would cross his arms and explain, “Those are property of the Snake and Skull Band. We’ll escort you in to grab a plant for 10,000 ryo.” Shirogane shrugged his arms and smirked, explaining, “Or I can just take it from you, a*****e.” Getting into a fight was something Shirogane expected, but he had already traveled this far and invested. He would face the Snake and Skull band on his own. The grass shifted and Shirogane had already counted at least 3 men. Others would be coming soon as well.

Forming handseals: Snake to Ram to Monkey to Boar to Horse to Tiger, Shirogane would then cry out, “Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu!” Inhaling and kneading the Fire Style chakra in his lungs he unleashed a giant orb of fire which crashed into the tight space where the shuffling and rustling of grass became prevalent. The trees were lit on fire, lighting the area and revealing now a total of 5 targets including the eyepatch leader from before. Three of them would jump tree to tree, so they could begin attempting to encircle him. But, Shirogane had dealt with combat against a group of foes before. He would not be caught so easily. Jumping back Shirogane would face shurikens to the right and some kunai to his left. Reaching into his pockets, he would toss kunai and shuriken to meet the incoming projectiles. Turning his attention to the leader of the group, he saw the leader call out, “Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu!” The same technique Shirogane had sent was coming towards him. That was when Shirogane would use a rapid series of handseals, “Mud River!” Sending out strong Earth style chakra would cause the mud below the leader to move rapidly, causing his fireball to be stirred off course, instead crashing into two of his allies and blowing up into the trees.

Picking up a kunai, Shirogane found himself baring down an opposing Snake and Skull band member who met his kunai. They would strike at each other a few times before sliding back. He would then lunge for Shirogane’s throat with the kunai. Using his taijutsu style, he performed a Shifting Tide, moving out of the kunai’s way, but connected his movement with a crashing wave. His fist struck the man in the throat, causing him to lose breath and fall to the ground. Forming a handseal, he would use an Earth style Rock Throw to lift a boulder and use it to crush the man’s head before he could get up again. Down to just the leader and one of his allies, another 3 men appeared, which appeared to be the reinforcements. “You got lucky, stupid kid. But, now that my friends are here we’re going to end you. You picked the wrong band to ******** with.” One of the new arrivals started to form handseals and stated, “Lightning Style: Lightning Ball!” A powerful Lightning jutsu was coming for Shirogane, whom quickly would form handseals and use the Great Breakthrough. As the two jutsu connected, Shirogane saw that it would stop the Lightning jutsu as it was a superior element. Two of the men then unsheathed katanas and came for Shirogane with the blades raised over their heads.

As they came into range, Shirogane would use the Underground Subterranean Voyage to dive beneath the earth, their blades clinging into one another, followed by suddenly being through under the earth coming about. He would roll through the earth towards the leader who had his men start throwing kunai at the ground not knowing how to stop his rapid movement. Once he reached the shinobi, he would grab his leg performing Double Suicide Decapitation, pulling him beneath the earth and then jumping out as he was buried in the debris. Holding the kunai from before to their leader’s head, Shirogane bellowed, “Come any closer and I end his life, scum. Now run away before this gets worse.” The leader seemed exhausted, frustrated and looked at the 3 closest men, exclaiming, “Don’t listen to him, this kid won’t do it. He has no balls. Kill him!” Confused, one of them would start forming handseals. “Water Style: Hidden Mist Jutsu!” Suddenly a white fog would roll in, deeply obscuring the vision of the area. And then a kunai with an explosive tag had hit a tree just behind Shirogane, exploding and launching him forward. “You idiots that’s- Araghhgh.” The leader’s voice had cut off with the explosion as he was likely killed in the blast.

As he started to regain his senses, deafened and somewhat blind, Shirogane would see water forming an orb around him. Quickly forming handseals and tossing a branch, he would use the Substitution Jutsu. The shinobi that specialized in Water Style attempted to use Water Prison on him. If he had been caught that would have been disastrous. With quick thinking and a desire to get out of this obscured vision he formed handseals and called out, “Wind Style: Great Breakthrough!” The wind would blow a path through the mist that Shirogane dashed through. He was chased by two of the three remaining members of the band. Forming three handseals, Shirogane created an Ember Clone. Rushing back further he started timing their approach, the Ember Clone holding out a kunai to appear defensive. The two men encircled him and went for the Ember Clone’s leg and chest, striking him as the Ember Clone would burst into flames. The two shinobi covered in flames began to fall to the ground and roll. Shirogane would use Rock Throw to once again toss a boulder to their heads, crushing one but the other landed on his chest. At long last, it was now Shirogane against the remaining shinobi who appeared to be a Water Style specialist. “I’ve beaten all of your friends, don’t you think it’s time to scram? I’m just here for the Rainbow Hops.

At this point it's to death. What’s your name? I’m Hiro Yui…” Hiro, the remaining shinobi, introduced himself. Shirogane looked at him for a moment and then nodded, acknowledging his bravery. “I’m Shirogane Tatsuya, I’m no one of importance but you’ve asked to meet death, so I’ll introduce you to him.” Forming handseals once more, the Shinobi used Water Manipulation filling the area with a large amount of water. He then would enter a puddle disappearing from vision. Looking down, Shirogane saw there was a lot of water and he was in the middle of it. This was not a good situation, so he would use the Art of Tree Climbing and get above the water below. The shinobi was hiding for some time now, likely breathing beneath the water trying to wait Shirogane out. Seeing that this was not going to change, Shirogane would try something bold. He knew the Water Style was weak to Earth Style and dived into the ground using Subterranean Voyage. As he dug through the ground all of the water began to pour like a drain into the damaged area filling it and making it far more muddy. Suddenly the shinobi sprung from the water and unleashed a Beach Crab Jutsu which caught Shirogane. However, as it tried to pincer and pull him down, Shirogane would momentarily allow it to freely pull him before using Rock Throw to burst the water and jumping out towards the now freed shinobi. As he lunged his kunai at the man, he used the Vacuum Blade to extend its reach, drilling it through his neck, before cutting off his head.

Spending about an hour collecting Rainbow Hops, Shirogane would return to Tanigakure and went to deliver the Rainbow Hops to his friend Marabishi. Overjoyed Marabishi exclaimed, “You did it! You actually did it. You’ve saved my business. Let me make you some Rainbow Brew!” Sighing and enjoying a sip, Shirogane would wipe blood and sweat from his forehead. He had defeated an entire band in order to bring these Rainbow Hops back and to help his friend. But, was it worth it in the end? For a year’s worth of saki and any brews he wanted, the answer was definitely a strong firm yes. Maybe he would open a cooking business of his own.
