I think that bush should just suck it up and take out the troops and send people over who are going to help and the whole war has just been a waste a life! If people are willing to kill 100s of 1000s of inisent Iraq's because cause all the americans care about is their own people who have no right to ne there! if they dropp an bomb how do you know it won't kill civilyans!
it does kill civillians. The Iraqis are fight for there nation, there homeland. Theres another reason to be hated by the Middle east.

First it needs to be understood that though I do not agree with the war. I do agree that in many ways it was a good thing we got rid of Saddam, and in many ways it was the most retarded thing we could do in that country.

Firstly, Iraq never had the "weapons of mass destruction".........except the one Bush senior sold Saddam........(that was a smart move) De-De-DEEEEEE.

Secondly, Saddam was a ruthless tyrant who spoiled his children, allowed ungainly amounts of hedonism for himself and those close to him.....from what I heard, but would just about execute anybody who followed his"lead" it was do as I say and not as I do.

Thirdly, Though in my opinion he needed to go, it should have been done by his own countrymen with our influence and support. The man May not have exactly been loved by all......he most assuredly was Feared by all Iraqis....that's why there was order.....They where terrified of what that man would do to his own people if they didn't keep quiet and stop bickering.
And now that he's gone who's actually surprised that there's a political uprising and a civil war.......and as a side note....in Iraq the 2 highest paying jobs in Iraq for Iraqis is either with the insurgents or with the USA......you work with the insurgents we'll arrest you....or kill you if we actually have to, or work with the USA and know that if your own people find out that you will slowly have your skin removed from your body and that would be the comfy part of the torturous death you would be given......oh and it would probably happen to your family too.....i wonder why there's so many insurgents???????????????

I'm going to be unpopular but here it goes...

At first I agreed with Bush's decision with going to the Middle East. Terrorists had just attacked our country what were we supposed to do? If you were President, would you stand by and let our country get attacked?

Going into Iraq was shaky at best, I agree. However, we are Americans. We have freedom of speech and are allowed to disagreed with everyone. Yet, when we start bashing Bush and start saying how much we do not agree with the war, we forget about the troops and the people in Iraq.

I personally have talked to several soldiers on leave from Iraq. They are the ones risking their lives over there. All of them may not know why they are fighting, however they know who they are fighting for, their country. They are proud to be Americans and proud to serve their country. They say when they see the citizens in Iraq, the citizens thank them. They are so grateful to the USA for helping them.

To sum it up, while we may not agree with the war, we still have to remember that we are helping people, and the soldiers in the war know that and still wish to serve their country because of that reason.

Also, R i o k u, I'm sure you'll be happy to hear that most Americans do not support the war. The approval count for the Bush Administration and the War in Iraq is dropping like mad.

Yeah but at least Bush has got only one more year in office, and then he can't run anymore.

What gets me is that Bush sent troops into Iraq right after AFGHANASTAN had just attacked. Ummm, excuse me if I'm wrong Mr. Bush, but the last time I checked that was TWO DIFFERENT COUNTRIES. Somehow, I think that the general population of the U.S. is stupider for believing what Bush was doing was related to 9/11 than Bush is for trying (and succeeding for a good amount of time) to pull it off.

Just starting this war set a very dangerous precident. Bush went to war in open defiance of the UN. He basically told the world that any member of the UN Security Council can declare war under false pretense at any time with no consequences. This is why no nation in the UN should have veto power. If it were not for the US's veto power, there would now be several UN sanctions and embargos against the US.

I would still like an explanation of how Iraq/Saddam was a threat to the US even if the WMD were real. Iraq did not have and were nowhere near having interconteniental delivery capability. The only way Iraq was going to get a WMD into the US was by Fed-Ex. Also even with using secret WMDs, sanctions had crippled Iraq's standard millitary to the point they could provide next to no defense against retaliation. Iraq was not a threat to anyone.

Support the troops, not the war. I'm proud to do so.

Yes, I suppose we are doing some good over there, and the world is one less despot. However, you have to consider the bigger picture. By diverting our time and energy into Iraq, bin Laden remains at large, North Korea and Iran both are building up their nuclear arsenal, and genocide continues unabated in Darfur. If you're talking about doing good, how about doing the greater good, or the most good for the most people for the most time possible?

Can we even count this as a war any more?

The only reason that suicide bombers keep blowing our troops up and insurgents keep fighting is because we haven't left. If America was created because people did not want to be prosecuted because of their beliefs and thought, then why do we have any right to do that to anyone else. And calling them "terrorist" doesn't help either. A "terrorist" is anyone who instills fear into a populous, therefore we are "terrorists" as well. It is simply a case of the pot calling the kettle black, or calling someone something that you know you are. Bush is so intent on stopping terrorism, THEN GET US THE ******** OUT OF IRAQ. THAT will stop terrorism.

We went in searching for Weapons of mass destruction. We found none!
We went in to search for the leader of the group responsible for 9-11. He isn't there.
We went in to dethrone an evil dictator. We did that.

The real reason we went there is:
O nly
I nsignificant and
L ittle.

As a soldier who came back from there about 2 months ago, i can say this: I don't care what the reason behind the whole war was, but I know that these people have lived all of their lives victims of rape, torture and terrorism even before we came in, and although it may not seem it from what the news reports, life is getting better for those who are looking for a better way of life. It is a hard and long road for them. As a medic, I see the casualties of war: civilians, soldiers, even terrorists. I have conversed with those whom I have treated, and they have told me about their lives and their hope for a better future for their children. They do not have very much in the way of medical care, and what they had beforehand was downright pathetic. Only Saddam had trained and qualified doctors which only tended to Saddam and his friends. I want to see the people of Iraq become stable, but it will take a long while. As for us being there, I would like to see us start to pull out, but not all at once. Doing so would put the country in jeapordy since the Iraqi army still has a little ways to go in thier training.
Also one thing you seem to be forgetting is even if we pull out, that WILL NOT stop terrorism. The terrorists will start saying we are cowards and make even more attempts on the US. The only way to stop terrorism is for everyone in the world to wake the f**k up and realize how stupid their intolerances and prejudices are against others and start tolerating other's beliefs, color, whatever. that, and remove greed from the hearts of people. Only then will terrorism cease to exist.
