Aurelia the Neko Witch My opinion is: I dont think anyone should be allowed to kill something, regardless of what it it, just because it was part of their culture. OK.Long ago, their culture may have depended on a certain animal for food or warm clothing or other things, so it was fine killing the animal back then. But it isnt neccesary to kill animals like whales or buffalo anymore. And I could have sworn(last I heard) that certain types of whales were dying out. k, im done A human has to fulfill his "primal" needs like any other animal or we'll slowly become isolated from the rest of the animal kingdom and become akward intelligent machines more then beatifull but destructive creatures..lol. Also eskimo's..thats all they've got up there is to hunt. You can't grow anything, you can't go down to the grocer where they live and say "afternoon' I'd like a bag of crisps..some bread..can't forget the chips..a nice fillet.." there isn't many services out there, but anyway if you take away hunting from inuit they'll end up like the indians over here always drinking complaining about the "whities" and sleeping in the park..well I guess the inuit won't be sleeping in any parks but you get the point they won't really have a strive to do anything. I do beileve in conservation and taking only so little thats why they put BAG LIMITS. Also yes almost all whales are endandgered and I think the chinese river dolphin went extinct last year.

Yes, they do.
They killed a 150 year old whale, but what is anyoen going to dowith it now that it is dead? What would they have done with it if it were alive? Stuck it in a tiny tank and study it till it dies?
The Eskimo use all of the body, including all of the meat and bones. It's been a part oftheir culture for centuries, and it has done NOTHING to harm the whale population. It even helps them, but I won't go into that now...
Now, unreasonable whaling (Killing sprees, fun, profit, etc) are wrong. Thats true. But allowing a culture to do something they've done of thosands of years is humane, allowing them to keep a litle bit of their had-been culture.

Also yes almost all whales are endandgered and I think the chinese river dolphin went extinct last year. about those primal needs lets see long ago, they were neccesary for survival but now not so much killing other animals used to be neccesary not really anymore and we are already isolated from the rest of the animal kingdom and as for the eskimo's food humans have develoed i nice invention called airplanes and importing

I get the point of your question. isnt anemia an iron deficiency? couldnt iron pills help that? I could be totally wrong.. but I went to the dr once a long time ago and he told me my iron was so low I was borderline anemic. tho this was more due to a poor diet (due to a poor bank account and stupidity) than any other natural reason. but as far as the eskimo culture is concerned, due to their environment, they really depend on whales (and seals and walrus's) to survive. the point is they dont abuse their power over animals. OUR culture does. and it's OUR culture that needs to be stopped. our civilization has always taken more than it's needed. I dont think there's anything wrong with how the eskimo's live. I personally wouldnt want to live that way, but then I'm used to a comparitively cushy existence of living in modern america. it would be a difficult change. but they have a right to live according to how their ancestors lived.. how they've always lived.. given that they really do not harm to other populations in general.
