I'd agree with Joy people tend to mimic what they see so when a corral is empty and there are a couple sitting together what common sense the woman mightve had would be canceled out by the flock mentality most humans have. But honestly common sense is merely hidden under people thinking doing stupid things is normal and they want to fit in look hard enough you'll see common sense win out once and awhile though.

The world is a very busy place now. We live in big cities and most people are getting a more "hive mind" like people from asia (this is not a racist comment it's a thing I noticed havn't you seen those people go into subways and such with little to no problem? If I had to do that I'd be bumping into people because I would be all "wtf?! why are we going this way I saw a coin on the ground!") where we don't have alot of time to think so our brains just kind of take a quick scan of whats going on. The old grandma must have thought "carts arn't in the cart hole. Carts are beside it. Someone must be moving them I'll put them over there to help".

The only people with what is called "commen sense" are individuals. Like ranchers and people who don't live in a big city, as they have to rely on themselves instead of others, as we live in cities more and more we start to rely on a sort of like I said "hive mind" or "collective thought" were copying what a person does works better then thinking for yourself.

I'd like to think I have a nice head on my shoulders, but there are people who are devoid of any kind of thought process much less common sence. If they have a thought by themselves it's a miracle
