If you want it to work(and have a current OS installed):
First, have a floppy drive.(If you don't... this will be tough)
2, insert empty floppy
3, open "My computer"
4, r-click on floppy icon
5, select "format..."
6, select "Make DOS startup Disk"
7, Do it.
8, restart computer
9, DOS starts up
10, type "Fdisk [drive name-eg. I:, C:... ect]
11, !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This will delete all data on the drive !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
12, wait
13, type "shutdown s" or just shutdown the computer with a click of the button
14, eject floppy
15, insert OS installation CD
16, follow instructions
17, get on the internet and download patches, kernals and updates
18, download and install all wanted programs not currently installed
19, obtain all updates for programs
20, Disk cleanup, Defrag (neither apply to Ubuntu) and chkdsk
