A lovely little AMV thread

Well, I didn't see anything in the Map directory, nor have I seen any recent threads like this (other then the ATG Video archive, but this is specifically for AMV's and for discussion on AMV's, so I believe it's acceptable), though I'm sure there is one like it buried in the depths of the guild (and I probably created and forgot about it).

Anyway, on to my little thread.

There is pretty much an AMV for every Anime, and for that matter, almost every song imaginable (to the point where if I'm looking for a song, I'll usually first look for an AMV of the song), however there are a few out there that truely shine from just being another AMV to being a memorable viewing experience.

A lot of the time my introduction to an Anime is through an AMV, one that is good and perks my interest. As a person who is always interested in finding new anime to watch, I really appreciate AMV's for giving me a glimpse of an anime while still not giving away too much of the story.

AMVs never did the job for me.
I don't want to see a billion videos with emo Gaaras or whatever being depressed to some 'punk' music razz .
I guess I don't really like them because if I bring myself to watch an AMV...then it's because I like the show(s) featured...but the songs are usually shitty so it's an overall crappy experience.

I guess there are exceptions...but I'm absolutely biased against them.

I'm afraid that I don't have anything real new to contribute, though. sweatdrop I do not know of many good AMVs.

Heh, I think I've only got one punk song out of all the songs on my playlist (it's around 50 songs) oO And it's a Megaman X AMV. I can assure you, if you're looking in the right places, there are extremely good AMV's (in some rare cases, better then the show themselves).

A lot of AMV's are so good, but most are just plain suck. I hate when there is so much potential, but the creator just horrible at timing and stuff.

This one Naruto AMV called "The Power Within" is the best emotional (not emo, emotional) music video I've ever seen. It's to the song Armageddon, so it's really dramatic. It's revolves around the fight between Naruto/Sasuke and Haku.

Anyway.
The only decent one posted so far is Somewhere Only We Know.
The others are serious DO NOT WANT cases for me. razz
I mean...what the hell? Mamboleo? Why would they sing that?
My suspension of disbelief doesn't seem to be strong enough for those...
