FAQ

- What is an Evolving Item?
Evolving Items are special items that you can equip to your avatar, but what makes them unique is that over time they change form, or "evolve".

- Where can I obtain an Evolving Item?
You can get one from the Cash Shop for Gaia Cash, or from the MP for Gaian Gold. Sometimes certain Evolving Items are removed from the Cash Shop, but you can still purchase them from the MP.

- When do we know an item has evolved?
If an announcement comes up with the title "Evolving Item Report, by Dr. Singh and Timmy", you'll know that 1+ items have evolved.

- How often is an Evolving Item Report announced?
Evolving Item Reports are announced, usually but not always, once a week.

- How many items evolve at the same time?
It differs each week; there can just be one item or even more.

- What shall I do to make my item evolve?
The items evolve in time, but be sure to watch for an Evolving Item Report in the announcements to see if your item has just evolved.

- Will my Evolving Item still evolve even if I don't have it equipped?
Yes, it will still evolve whether you have it on your avatar or not.

- When is MY Evolving Item starting/continuing to evolve? How many levels does it take?
Nobody really knows for sure, because every single kind of Evolving Item is different. Some evolve fast, even within a month, others slowly. Different items have also different evolving levels; could be six, eight, but even less is possible.

- I don't like the current state of my item! Can I change it back?
Be patient, because when an Evolving Item is completely done evolving all previous stages are unlocked to use.

- What are "Generations"?
When an Evolving Item is first introduced in the cash shop, it's a 1st Generation item (although it doesn't clearly state that it's 1st, it just has the name of the item). When an Evolving Item Report is announced for that item, the previous generation is removed from the Cash Shop. You now are unable to buy that generation from the Cash Shop (you can, however, obtain it through the MP). You can buy a 2nd Generation, or 3rd, or 4th, etc. one in the previous generation's place. It'll take longer to evolve, but it'll still evolve nonetheless.

- Is an evolving item a better investment than an MC?
It's too early to tell. Some Evolving Items cost 90,000g on the MP, which (when compared to a newly released MC) is a great deal more expensive. Evolving items can be bought for Gaia Cash (IRL money), and most of them are more expensive than a Sealed ($2.50). But since many new generations are added in the Cash Shop, they may loose their recent value and become affordable.

- What does it mean when an Evolving Item leaves the Cash Shop?
It means that that item is no longer available for purchase in the Cash Shop (they can still be obtained via MP). It has been mention before by [NPC] Flynn that some of the retired items MAY be re-released in the future.

I'm still poor as s**t from being banned, yet I can afford anything from the cash shop. Unlike DI's, they'll just become more and more common until they're worth next to nothing. It will cause some deflation for once (which isn't too bad, with me being broke and all).

So there's really not much reason to buy them yet.

I'll wait till they drop in price.

Besides, I'm not buying an egg until I know what it hatches into. It's too much of a lottery right now.

i like the idea of the egg that evolves but im going to wait for it to come down in price too. Its neat, but not that neat. And the layout and general look of the store is horrible in my opinion. Some of the items you cant even tell what they are, and others dont look worth buying in the first place. Which is a shame, because of the way they are presented i have been put off them, but they're probably quite nice items
