Revolutionary
When I dream,
I dream of flowers and hope,

Little Tyke
When I was young,
I used to believe in tales of faerie,
Played pretend and watched a little too much TV,
I would sing along to rock songs on the radio,
Take naps and dream of heroes and dragons,
Ask “are we there yet?” just to annoy my dad,
Fall asleep to a bedtime story if I was scared,
When I was young I was whimsical and a little rambunctious.
Une Ombre Hante
The one who follows your every step, mocking you with his presence,
A shadow, a heart, a smile swelled with hate,
Black tastes like ash and defeat,
Blindness filled with love, and fear.
Sounding like a mewling apocalypse,
Thundering down the icy road.
Black smells like abyss and decay,
Like a black rose shunned by the mayors garden.
Black kills,
Empty promises,
It flies,
Dropping bombs and spreading hurtful lies,
Black is evil,
Like a demon on parade.
It will find you,
It will try to stop you and continue his tyranny,
Black rules as a despot,
Feeding on lost hope. |

i know that last entry was long but i wrote-and thus saved-these in short bursts. heres some more:
Mission…possible?
Red cherry base,
Mahogany accents dancing across the side,
Green felt floor protectors,
The beauty greets me like an old friend.
Saw dust floating lazily in father’s workshop,
Tickling my tired face,
The deed is done!
Planer in hand,
Arthur and Excalibur,
Touching up the corners,
Hacking down the beast,
This box has become a funnel of dreams,
Blurring reality with the power of whim.
Disease
Kitty sneezes,
Sinuses dammed with mucus,
Holding back the tide of slime,
Oozing out his nose.
Shadow moans,
Clutching for his stomach,
Paws unable to comfort.
We do our best,
But once and a while,
A bug comes along.
We make them comfy and warm and dry,
But dogs will be dogs,
And cats; cats,
If they don’t cooperate,
We really do our best.
Thud
Fear floods my body,
Like Katrina after the levees broke,
Ground meets leg,
Like two gladiators in the wilderness,
Asphalt smites limb,
Leaving his identity deep in flesh,
Blood trickles from ground zero,
Sealing the evidence in scar,
Never to be known,
The horseman seeks for his mount,
Shuddering pieces on the concrete,
“I really should have worn a helmet.”

Betrayal
Heart shudders,
Skips a beat,
Palms sweat,
Stomach queasy,
A sinking feeling floods my being,
It cannot be!
These monstrosities had been outlawed and razed to the ground years ago,
Harassment,
Beatings,
Suicides,
The reasons obvious,
Nay-sayers few,
For the greater good of all they had been destroyed.
But now,
Standing here leaning on my staff,
I am not so sure they had been eradicated,
I must warn the emperor!
Rustle behind me,
I spin, making me dizzy,
Smoke and flame,
Punched in the chest,
I gaze down,
Blood?
Darkness,
Muffled sounds,
“remove the blindfold”
The emperor?
“well, I guess you now know my little secret…”
Village Idiot
Sword strikes sword,
Matching blow for blow,
Neither can win for they tire and rest,
Then they rise and continue,
Three days,
Three nights,
On and on they fought,
A man passed and watched them fight,
Another day passes,
The man approaches,
“sir, I have had my fun,
Surely you do not hope to slay this foe?
My good man,
You cannot win,
For no man can defeat his shadow” |
