my favorite, partly for flavor and partly from sentiment, is my gramma's pumpkin pie.
it's very dark with spices, such as clove and allspice, and she uses molasses and condensed milk.
so it's not for sissies!

i myself bake an excellent from-scratch lemon meringue pie, with eggs, real grated lemon, and a fantastic flaky crust.
it takes all day to make one.
the hardest part is to keep the meringue from weeping.
