To be honest, even if MAHR were to get a petition to ban music, its a form of censorship thats against the 1st ammendment of our bill of rights. I doubt if the government would allow such a thing to pass since they know the massive uproar it would cause and at the time they don't need it with the elections and the war going on right now.

Try googling "mahr". Nothing immediately looks relevant? Add "mothers against hard rock" to this. Rather than some official MAHR site popping up, all you get is all this anti-MAHR crap.

Just to be safe, add "official site" to your search box. All the things that pop up are either your first post, or people saying to do some research and find out that there is no MAHR official site.

NBC announced it? Which NBC show? The fact that it doesn't have specifics points towards urban legend. Urban legends (especially email chain letters) usually try to slap a name/brand/whatever that's fairly famous on their crap to make it sound credible, but they don't usually give details because then it'd be too easy for people to research the issue and find that it's all bull-dung.

Your so-called original site? It's just a petition asking whether rock should be banned or not. It's not even a "sign if you agree"-type petition - it's just a glorified poll. Nothing about MAHR on it, that I could find. And judging by the votes in the first section, rock has nothing to worry about. rolleyes

Not to mention that it'd go against the First Amendment to wide-spread ban a form of expression.

I found no official "Mothers Against Hard Rock" site. If they were a real organization, I'm sure they'd have one. If you manage to find one, link me and I might move this back out of Spamalot.
