||| - Rules/Consequences - ||
The following rules make the guild easier to run and also more pleasant for everyone 4laugh :
Point 1: Introduce yourself
in the INTRODUCE YOURSELF HERE!!! thread instead of making your own thread.
Point 2: When making threads
A) Try not to make repeat threads.
B) Notice the sub-forums & make sure you create your thread in the appropriate place.
C) Make sure there is a discussion. Spoonfeed if necessary.
D) NO ADVERTISING. This is includes asking for votes in the AA (Art/Avatar Arena).
Point 3: Thread Distinctions
Casual Discussions: All threads with discussion belong in the Community Lounge, unless they are in-depth (see "In-Depth Discussion for more).
In-Depth Discussion (IDD): Goes in the In-Depth Discussion sub-forum, naturally. An in-depth thread will include a topic of serious disposition and/or a discussion of a philosophical or debatable nature.
Games: Threads made for entertainment value instead of discussion. May occasionally have prizes, but often those are small. These belong in the RP/Games sub-forum.
Roleplays: A thread whose goal is to create an interactive story. Often has rules within the story to abide by in addition to forum rules. These belong in the RP/Games sub-forum.
Art Stores: Belong in the Creative Crossroads sub-forum, and you can link to them via tektek's post-altering code, or in your signature.
Contests: Arguably similar to games in meaning, these have a limited lifespan and need the exposure of the Community Lounge to gain enough participation for the payout. Guild Events are considered contests.
These are the three primary criteria to qualify as a contest.
1: It must have a set goal.
2: It must have an ending date.
3: It must have at least one prize of some value.
Point 4: When posting
A) Follow the TOS (Terms of Service), of course whee
B) Try to avoid stretching pages by making sure images/links/words are smaller/not stretched out.
C) No one likes SPAM or attention whores. This means that BUMPING is NOT allowed.
D) Be civil towards one another. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and to express those opinions, but outward hatred and unnecessary harsh terms towards any particular person or group is to be kept to oneself or outside the guild (ie PMs).
E) No bickering about religion unless it is an intelligent discussion. Be respectful about others beliefs and don't try to convert them if they don't wish to be converted.
Consequences:
The Any topic Guild has the standard list of offences that can be noted. We have a system in place to record and monitor offenders from a clean slate to permabanning (banning a person from the guild and never letting them back in) and a method of making sure we don't forget when members are considered to have atoned. If you break one of the rules we will send you a PM to tell you what you have done, list or link to the infractions, and tell you how severe the repercussions are or will be. The list of offences is as follows:
Cursing at Members- Generic cursing or that which is admitted to be playful won't be cracked down on, but swearing vehemently at another member is strongly frowned upon.
Spamming- Creating threads or posting off-topic pointless things in other threads can, and will, lead to warnings and eventual banning.
Jacking Threads- Entering a thread to talk to someone you know or just to divert the course of a thread. The Phunkeh Thread exists to have off-topic discussions with other members. Post on-topic with maybe a "So-and-so meet me in the Phunkeh Thread!" addition at the end.
Flaming- Making hurtful derogatory comments about another poster, their mental faculties, family, or anything else having to do with them, could easily find you on the dangerously slippery slope toward Banville (a very lonely, lonely place...).
Trolling- Intentionally causing chaos and disrupting the guild will quickly earn you a pop or two on the noggin with the banhammer (the tool with which we use to hit offenders... Hard.)
Repeat Threads- Pointless wastes of space which cause the untimely deaths of potentially good threads. We do not tolerate these any more than we do spam. Make too many and you're out of here.
Advertising- Making threads or posts telling others to check out a friend, or yourself, in an arena is not acceptable here. Threads advertising Gaia marketplace shops and auctions are also not permitted (unless the auction is of an artistic nature. If this is the case, you may put it in the Creative Crossroads). These threads are emptied of content and locked as soon as we can look at them. You will get a black mark for making these threads, we don't just delete them.
Begging- Begging for gold, items, rating, anything is just as despised as Advertising and will result in the same reaction. ASKING FOR DONATIONS fall under this category.
Bumping- Bumping threads is akin to Spam only there's never the potential for a weird laughable moment. We don't like these. Do one of these and you get a warning. Just remember, only one warning.
Direct Threats- This is the quickest way to Permabanning (permanent removal from the guild). Threaten someone. Flaming is a direct insult, this is direct threats. We do not approve of these at all.
Any of the above can and/or will result in a banning and some are grouped with others. If you dip your feet into too many pools you'll get swallowed by something so we recommend you stay away from the darker possibilities out there.
Point 5: When Leaving the Guild aka Quitting
If you leave the guild for any reason whatsoever, PM a moderator (preferably one who is frequently active) and tell us so. We need to know this information just in case ATG members start asking about you and out of the sake of courtesy, especially if you're well known member. An example of why is it important: A person doesn't move to a new city without telling friends and family where he/she is going and when the house warming party will take place. |
