i just wanted to put my poems out there for people to read. i'm not really that good, i've only been writing for a short time. but i would love some helpful advice or hints. thanks. =)

The Caged Life

All alone thats how I feel.
In this cage I try to run,but all I do is find corners.
This cage you call life is dark and dangerous. Where only brave ones dare to enter.
I have become one of those people.
The ones that aren't afraid to walk into the darkness.
Hopefully you will join me in the darkness too.

The Dagger

When you said those words you dug into my heart with a dirty and rusted dagger.
As you pushed the rustic pin deeper into me you twisted and turned it.
Why do you do this to me?
I would never do this to you.
The pain is unbearable and did i deserve it?
Have I done you wrong and you want revenge on my soul?
Do you want me in your life or just disappear completely?
I want to care for you but all you do is push me further away.
As if I am a deadly plague.
You will never know the pain you caused when you said those words.
I wish you wouldn't hurt me like this but it will never stop.

The Quest for Happiness

I try to sing tunes inside my head. To make me happy,but the musical notes do not soothe my sad heart.
I do not think that my heart will ever be permanently happy.
Maybe a small spark of happiness here and there,but it will not always be there.
I wish I could be happy and carefree.
That will be hard to achieve with the challenges of the world.
But,I will be happy at the end. Hopefully.

The Old Man

He sits in his chair all crooked and crank.
As he chats and pats about the same old things,he folds hands across his chest as if he couldn't mesh without his checks.



P.S. checks is his checkered shirts. blaugh

My Simple Suicide

The silence sighs
In my simple sorrow
They seek from inside my soul
Seeming to seal me in a sea of sadness As I sink into solemn suicide.

The Wooden Warriors

As I walk through the wooden plain.
The limp leaves below my feet carpet the rugged land.
The wooden stalks tower down on me.
The sky covered with green leaves that seem to smile down on me.
The wooden warriors sway in the light breeze and the leaves begin to sing.
The warriors stand tall as I walk down their aisle.
Their green arms outreaching to me.
As I turn back they reach out again with their leafy covered hands as if they want my company.

Numbing Noise

This music in my ears seems to numb me.
Numb the pain...the depression.
If it just keeps playing I can get through another day.
This is what makes me tick.
The beat of the drums.
The shocking scream of the guitar.
The vocals that speak to me in a way indescribable.
This is what makes me tick.
