I thought he was ok in it, but to be honest if he hadn't died I don't think everyone would be raving about how great he was in it. I thought the film was good but not just because it had Heath Ledger in it. He was a good actor and all, but the film wasn't all about him.
(Don't mean to start any fights or anything, I just get annoyed with seeing the film talked about only in terms of One actor that was in it.)

I know it wasnt about him its that its a superstition surounding super big films like this.Also involving Bruce lee's Sons Murder.Now Heath Died, In The movie He had a line that caused even my brave mispoken mother to leave the screening room.He Stated"That in Their Last Moments,People show who they really are".It was Spooky o.O

Heath dying doesn't bother me, but looking back to how Jack did it compared to Heath

I see the difference.

Jack played him as a comical character.
Heath went the whole way and made joker a downright psycopathic killer.

It was amazing.

Heath Ledger was awesome as the Joker, and he put his whole soul into the role. Even if he didn't die, I think people would still have liked it just the same, if not more. I really wish he could have lived so he could help make the sequal. I bet Harley Quinn would have been in it too =(

And if you look at it this way, the Joker was the main conflict in the movie, so it technically was mostly about him. And he totally made Christian Bale's role look bad because Heath was so much better in comparison.
