Jade The Dragon rider

Can you please read my story? Here it is so far:

The Dragon Chronicles
Prologue:

She looked ahead, hope in her eyes. "Jade, I know you‘re hurting, but you have to get us to that castle!"
The Jade to whom she was speaking was the one who could get the young woman and herself to go that one mile further. Jade was a dragon, but not just any dragon. She was The Star Dragon; the one with the power to save them all…
This is the story of the legendary dragons. When Dragons had riders to guide them and magic was everywhere. This is the story of “The Blue Dragon”, or “The Jewels in the Dark”.

Chapter one:

Jade was a dragon who was the size of four tall men, in the prime of her life. She was no ordinary dragon. She was blue, with large dark blue wings, but the most unusual thing was her mark. Every Dragon at that time had a mark. It showed whether the dragon was a girl or boy. And if the dragon was a certain type, such as healer, magician, or fighter, and that mark was usually the deciding factor in their name.

Saffire, as well as being a young woman, was no ordinary girl either. Her bearing was as regal as a queen was, but she had a simple look for her features. She was no great beauty, her light- brown hair, lightly sun-kissed skin and her figure being quite simple, but her eyes….
Those eyes, pools of lavender, could draw you in at a glance. She wielded such power with those eyes, as if she could look into your heart, yet never judging, never accusing. She portrayed simple innocence, but that was part of her charm. With wisdom beyond her years, she knew all that she could from books and people.

At home, she was a delightful child, seldom crying, but always watching. No one knew who her parents were, for she had been given to the guild in the night. They had received her with open arms. Reading the card attached to the blanket she was wrapped in; they saw:

“This is Saffire. Please take care of her; she is a special child. I wish I could keep her, but the plague has swept through our village; I was only able to get away with her. She will be a powerful warrior, for at her birth, the fire burned with a blue light when she screamed. Teach her and keep her away from evil.”

They took her in, and as the letter foretold, she was a powerful child. At a young age she was taken to the Dragon Riders for testing. The head rider looked into her mind, searching for the powers that every Dragon Rider had. At once, they found something that surprised even the oldest rider.

“Eleanor, do you know what this means?” The head rider, Chiron by name, asked with troubled eyes.
Eleanor was also visibly shaken. “There has never been the like! Is she the….”
“Impossible! That prophecy was a fake! It could never have been true!” A younger rider, Orrick, burst out.
“But if it was? The time is about right; the kingdom is starting to show the signs…” Chiron stopped, overwhelmed with thought. “She must be taken care of, and also must be shown to the dragons…”

Chapter 2

That same week, they sent for her. Her nurse, Jesibel, brought her again in front of the high riders. Only this time, they were in a small cove near the lake on the eastern edge of the guild.
“Nurse?” Jade asked while they were walking, a troubled grimace upon her face.
“Yes, Jade?” Jesibel glanced down at her small charge. “ What is it, dear? You look so…”
“Worried? Because I am. Why are we going to the dragon cave?”
Jesibel stared at Jade, shock clearly evident. “Jade…how did you know that we were going to the dragon cave?”
Jade lifted her gaze. “Because I read that message…The one that the flying bird brought you.” She looked back down at the sand again.
“You read that handwriting?” Jade snapped her eyes back on Jesibel’s face. “I am very impressed! Not many people could understand that writing…much less a child of six Turns. But to answer your question, you may have been chosen to be someone important. A rider, even.”
Wonder gradually filled the girl’s eyes. “You mean…I could be chosen by a hatchling?” She looked deeply into Jesibel’s eyes. “Are you teasing me…or is this real?”
Jesibel chuckled. “I guess we will see when we get there! Just a few more minutes, young one. We will arrive soon enough.

It would never be the same. Saffire, a young rider of 15, was struggling to regain consciousness. In her pain, she looked at herself to assess the damage. She gasped at what she saw. Her side was ripped open, one long tear going from her left shoulder, down her side, to her lower abdomen. It looked worse than it felt, that was for sure. “Ouch, that stings.” Then she started at the sound of another presence.

“Mistress, are you all right?”

Saffire turned her head slightly. Lying next to her, wrapping her wings around her, was Jade.
“Not really, but it could be much worse. How about you?” She smiled at her faithful friend Jade, her Dragon.

"And if the dragon was a certain type, such as healer, magician, or fighter, and that mark was usually the deciding factor in their name."

"Her bearing was as regal as a queen was"

"she knew all that she could from books and people. "

Your writing needs some refinement or some fine tuning. I can't say anything about the content of the story at this moment. >_>

Edit: I'll move it in a couple minutes.
