I LOVE rock also, but i also like rap. Recently, I've noticed that the majority of Gaians like rock over rap. I was just wondering why most Gaians like rock more.

To me that's like asking if the egg or the chicken came first. It's a question that doesn't have just one answer.
I grew up to rock and country so naturally I love them. But rap is not my cup of tea.

I just kinda grew up with rock.
But for some reason I just want to dropkick anyone who says rap isn't music.

Actaully, rap is a derivite of old chanting. Sure it's taken a less than desireable turn, but it does take talent to make good rap songs.
And by saying rap isn't music is saying there's no such thing as music because most music came from rap, be it influences or derivitives.
just an fyi. whee
Oh, and to answer the original question: why do more gaian's like rock more is that's what's being marketed the most heavily and it's more sellable than rap. There's not much one can do to rap to make it your own than a nice back-beat. With rock, there are bou-koo amounts you can do. So everyone gets what they like in Rock, but not neccessarily in rap.

yes i agree it takes talent to make the rap songs but it takes no talent to preform them other than maybe the dancing. it is basically the same thing as talking only ur rhyming and doing it to a beat

it takes just as much talent to make rap as rock, because if to you rap is talking with rythm, then may i ask what is metal to you? screaming to a beat. rap and rock have the same pricibles really, if you have a good singer no matter what music youll go far, but if you have a good guitarist itll just like if you have a good beatboxer

I find that 99% of rap has only two musical instuments.
MI#1: Voice
MI#2: Keyboard
Those are what I consider musical instruments in Rap. This is why I do not like Rap. I find it to be a bit talentless and unentertaining. Sometimes the song is so easy that Weird Al can make a song the next day. Rock involves plenty of MI's.
Rock usually has:
MI#1: Voice
MI#2: Lead Guitar
MI#3: Drums
MI#4: Bass Guitar
Depending on the decade there may be additives to the music genres.

rock and rap can both be good it depends entirely on the person
the reason i think rock is preffered is that there is a wider range of rock music whereas rap is more targeted in a specific area

I think its because gaia isnt like myspace where EVERYONE goes. Gaia has a majority of a certain type of people which is the anime type people. And a majority of anime people just seem to like rock.
i hate rap. its not music to me. they're just talking
