|| Bartering at the Market. ||

Who; Inge, Mille & Tori. (plus rust bottle)
When; Around midday, about 12/1pm.
Where; The crowed centre of Aimes Market.

Ah the market of Aimes.. It was difficult to describe the atmosphere of the place.. But the first word that would normally spring to mind was crowed. Brightly coloured stalls jostled together for space each flogging their unique wares, all contesting for the attention of their buys with whooping sales pitches, so loud that made any unsuspecting passer-by jump out of their skin with fright. There was also no proper structure, wherever a seller could snatch a post would be where they'd set up and as a result dress-sellers were squished between food stalls and menageries; feathers and fur flying during occasional scraps between the animals. There were even the more peculiar stalls present at the market. A shady stall flogging black arts equipment like animals bottled in jars, floating in vile green liquid.. And another that was garbed in gaudy colours proclaiming they had a poultice for every ailment, made from the glowing mushrooms found solely in the depths of Whii Forest.

Jeremiah's stall was in the midst of this chaotic place. They had a long stall on which was laid a worn steely blue cloth. Their product unsurprisingly was fish; all shapes and sizes. Their were even some more unusual catches on display, a higher price tag due to their rarity. Bright blue snappers with a hefty jaw full of sharp teeth, venous delicacies dredged up from the depths of the sea with gelatinous tentacles.. If you wanted a type of fish then it was likely that Inge's father's stall would be selling it.

Inge himself was standing at one end, a vacant expression on his face. His father seemed to be snagging the most part of the customers, leaving him to stand here with very little to do except shoo off the occasional cat that wandered toward the potent fishy scent of their stall. He slightly desired to be allowed to roam freely through the market; simply absorbing the cacophony of noise and colours. Evidently he couldn't buy anything - any money that he did make through fish sales went directly to his adopted father.. But to be allowed to simply browse would be a blessing.

Not only would it be enlightening and a first time experience for the fisherman teen, but he might also be able to seek out answers regarding the mysterious bottle that'd come into his possession - rusting any metal it got near to. (It was currently safely tucked away in his satchel, away from the sticky fingers of the pickpockets that came alongside the market.) But somehow Inge didn't think that his father would allow him free reign to explore.. It was always work, work, work..

They stood to face the usual Aimes market. Things have been working out smoothly these days, which allowed both Millie and Tori to live a semi comfortable life. Although they were much more tired than before, but they had enough funds to support themselves properly. They were hoping they could get some rest after shopping however it seemed the market was more packed than usual. People rubbed shoulders against each other as they squeezed their way through hundreds of shouting merchants and bargaining customers.

“Uh…you think you can handle this today? You could go back to the Inn and stay there while I shop… I mean there’s so much people today.” Tori asked, putting her hand on her head. She twirled her head side to side in hopes to see through the thick crowd.

“Yeah…probably,” Millie replied, clenching hands against her dress, “just make sure you don’t wander off somewhere…that’s it.”

Tori gripped Millie’s hand and began to merge themselves with the crowd. It wasn’t long before their hands began to get slippery from the sweat.

It was Tori who felt their hands parting first, but before she could get a better grip, a hurrying delivery boy walked between them. They were separated.

“Millie!” Tori shouted, “Millie!”

“Tori!” Millie replied back, her voice already a distant whisper.
“Tori-“

Tori cringed. It wasn’t long ago that she had lost Millie in the woods (or more like herself gotten lost) and since then she felt that Millie was her responsibility to take care of. More then a friend, but as a family she must find Millie before it was late.

“Don’t worry, Millie! Hang on tight, okay? We’ll meet at the Inn!” She tried to shout, but the crowd drifted her further away into the market.

**********

“Ah, Tori…”

Tears began to form on her eyes. They were separated once again, and she wasn’t even able to hear what Tori said. With a small sigh, Millie walked around the outskirts of the market. She’ll just have to manage on her own till it was time to check in at the Inn. Tears escaped her eyes. She wiped her cheeks shivering with small sulks, but stopped as something in caught her eye. A small, white fur ball was traveling across the ground just a couple of paces ahead of her. It stopped, but turned around to avoid the incoming feet. Intrigued, Millie stepped in closer to realize that it was a small white kitten. It scurried around but stopped to glance at her. It had clear emerald eyes, no, more like deep aqua, and fastened its interest at the small petals floating around Millie. The Kitten trotted close, but kept the distance, and began playing with the suspended petal. Millie smiled.

Pests - That's what Inge classified any cats as. Pests that needed to be driven away from the stall before they could snatch a fish and send his father into an awful mood. The teen had already dealt with a couple of moggies today. They'd had ginger fur, fluffed up to enhance their cute appearance, and amber eyes that pleaded for him to allow them to swipe a fish. In fact, they were probably house cats who'd been fed a bowl full of food by their owners, judging by their pleasantly groomed pelts, and had no need for the delectable fishy treats. But Inge hadn't been fooled by their adorable exterior and had hurriedly chased them away with shooing arms - making them yowl and hiss in his direction; all of their apparent cuteness disappearing in an instant.

Although, chasing the cats seemed to be the only thing he could actually do on the stall due to his father snatching customers before he even had a chance to open his mouth.. Even now as he was staring at the crowd bustling past, jostling for space, he could spy a kitten; a shock of white fur in the jungle of trampling feet. Inge readied himself to chase it away.. Baby or not, it probably still had an appetite for fish. However, before he could slip out from behind the stall a girl wandered up to the cat examining it closely. "Oh." He mumbled..

Was she it's owner? It would look bad on Inge's behalf if he tried to scare it away when she was right there.. Although, judging by the way the girl was watching it with amused and curious eyes Inge assumed that it was not her cat. He tutted and continued to make his way towards the pair, arms crossed, a slightly appologetic look upon his face.

"Hello, is this your cat?" He inquired, standing next to the girl and waving his hand at the kitten - who appeared to be amusing itself with a pale pink petal. He frowned at the petal, there weren't many trees bearing petals like that in Aimes, after all, it was a floating city.. Cocking his head he examined the girl again and this time noticed that around her there were more of the petals, serenely drifting to the ground in the area around her.

Realising that it was rude to stare Inge blinked and directed his gaze from the bizarre petals, motioning again to the cat. "I'm on the fish stall over there.. And well, as you can imagine, we're not too fond of cats." He explained in an appologetic tone of voice.
