evolving items??

I'm kinda confused...I want to buy this pora ice off the marketplace but they have different generations. What do those mean I dont understand and how do you get the different generations? Or when you buy it do you get all the styles it just says a different generation?

The Pora Ice has finished evolving and ALL generations should have all the stages. It was the first EI, I believe.
It doesn't matter which generation you buy if you just want to equip it. They all look the same. Some people think it is more prestigious to have the first generation of any EI, so prices are higher for first gens.
