do piercings heal up when you leave them alone?
im thinking bout getting one on the back of my neck, not sure though neutral

Do you mean if you take them out? Yes. Never completely but enough to need it re-pierced if you want to put jewelry in it again. Surface piercings I imagine close up pretty quickly. Now if you're talking about actual healing time, I think surface piercings take about 6th months to heal. Just google it to find out

And about surface piercings, yeah from my understanding they start to close more quickly if left alone but take a long a** time to heal, sometimes needing to be stitched closed. If you're looking at neck piercings, I'd go with Dermals. they tend to look less raunchy where barbells on the back of the neck can show more of the opening and look pretty crusty and bad for a while.
