its been a while since i posted a topic..... so here goes....

IM AT WAR!!!!!

my back yard has been taken over by slugs... BIG slugs...

it doesn't bother me much... but there targeting my 2 dogs... destroying there food and there water....

if there's one thing you should know about me... you mess with my dogs... and ill KILL YOU!!

so ITT: SAFE, all natural ways to get rid of slugs(slow and painfully if possible), little things that piss you off, and why not.. your dogs or pets.....

Well, this is easy. Make a barrier of salt around the place, and the slugs will turn themselves inside out as the salt slowly dries them out.

im scarred to use salt since its around my dogs.... plus its out side and would melt as soon as it rained... which is suppose to be all next week........

EDIT: i know salt wont hurt the dogs... but they still might find the slugs more...."appetizing" one of them is addicted to salt.... i even give him salt licks as treats....

Hm. I do not think there is any problem with your dogs eating the slugs as they are not toxic. So I say, salt the slimy buggers and if your dogs eat them, consider it canine revenge! mrgreen

I would suggest diatomaceous earth (it's abrasive and will cause thousands of little cuts all over their bodies) but that only works in dry areas.

Slugs tend to stay away from dry areas.

So it's effectiveness is very limited. Lava rock, on the other hand, will still have some effect.

Norways method:
Finish a big ice cream box
yum yum
then start picking up slugs and drop them in there
Drop salt in there
watch as they churn and leave liquidy substances left.

and constantly take swims in my dogs water and constantly crawl all over there food... right after i give it to them....
