Tis the season to grab some popcorn, turn out the lights, and get the bejesus scared out of you by your favorite horror flicks. twisted

Will Dracula be thirsting for you blood?
Or perhaps Freddy will be joining you in your living room?
Could Jason be popping in with his machete?
Or who knows? Maybe a zombie invasion will be your doom. burning_eyes

What's your favorite scary movie?

I don't usually like scary movies. A lot of the popular horror movies that have been out recently are little more than torture porn or supernatural gore-fests. confused

I do really like all three Resident Evil movies. And I liked The Others.

I think I would go with The Exorcist. That movie freaked me the hell (hurr hurr) out lol

Growing up, I was around a lot of people who believe in demonic possession. sweatdrop My godparents would pitch a fit if they found any of us playing with a ouija board or reading anything to do with the occult.

So I can't say I've ever felt particularly inclined to watch the Exorcist, even though it's not something I believe in myself. x3

This question makes me immediately think:

Most scary movies I really like aren't actually scary.... Like The Others, The Orphanage, The Ring....

Exorcist is good too. It's the muuuuusic that does it. Freaky stuff.

I'm debating getting Drag Me to Hell. It's a...special movie. But I think I rather enjoyed it. Moreso than I did Evil Dead, really.

I want to see Paranormal Activity. I wonder if it'll come out here...and if I can drag anyone to see it with me....

I really can't do scary. I would love to and I will sit through one for GTR, but for the most part I can't do them. I do like the Resident Evil movies which is super weird for me because Zombies scare the living ******** right out of me! I'm serious! I have, and have had, nightmares about them where I wake up crying I'm so scared!

I couldn't make it through Evil Dead. Yes, that's how bad I am at it.

The Village was a shitty movie! It was supposed to be scary and wasn't. Same with Cloverfield. That movie was such a piece of s**t.

Oh here's a laugh for you, Dracula Dead and Loving it along with Mars Attacks gave me nightmares for weeks. I'm not a scary movie person. sweatdrop

The Village is pretty much one of the worst movies of all time.

I liked Cloverfield, though. But I don't even really consider that a monster movie, let alone a scary one.

The Hitcher remake or Home Movies. Home Movies was really twisted. They both scared me really bad in different ways. Other movies that scared me in a more suspenseful way were Silence of the Lambs and Inglorious Basterds - so many scenes where you sit there with bated breath.

Oh yeah, Silence of the Lambs is a good movie. Wasn't too big on Hannibal, though. And I haven't see the other movies in the series.

Red Dragon's actually pretty good. I haven't seen the prequel where it's about how Hannibal became who he was though...

I enjoy the Resident Evil movies too. I don't find them scary though. I tend to love anything with zombies in it.

Strangely enough, while I love the flesh-craving undead, I don't like living people doing cannibalism. (In movies. Obviously it's a no-go in real life.) Australian horror movie Dying Breed completely creeped me out. Despite being completely disgusting, it wasn't actually a good movie though so I wouldn't recommend it. If you want a creepy movie about people coming for a trip in Australia and getting chased and tortured there are better options out there. Australian movie makers sure don't seem to like tourists...

I want to see Paranormal Activity. IMDb does list an Aussie release date so I hope it comes to a theatre nearby.

My friends all got hyped for Paranormal Activity as soon as they heard it was coming to Seattle in that little private theater, so we all reserved tickets... Everyone found it to be absolutely terrifying. They were all close to tears, or full-on crying in the middle of the theater... I, however, was rather unaffected. sweatdrop I thought it was a great movie, but it didn't actually... disturb me like it did everyone else. So I ended up being... the one that my friends clung to and sought headpats from...

One of my favorite scary movies was 28 Days Later. 3nodding Since I don't really get horrified, it was good for jumps and whatnot. And I love me some zombie survival~!

I have 28 Days Later on dvd. Been meaning to get 28 Weeks Later as well. Isn't there going to be a 28 Months Later too?

Part of the reason that I want to see Paranormal Activity is because it's supposed to be so scary. I haven't had a good scare in awhile.

I had a friend who would get really freaked out in scary movies even though she loves them. I wouldn't be scared by the movie but I'd be on edge waiting for her to scream and jump on me. She once clutched her then boyfriends hand so hard in fright she sprained it. sweatdrop
