So, Yunie threw out this idea in the IRC and a bunch of us all jumped all over it and said she should make a thread, but then I did...
Anyway.
Her idea is this:
We all have books that we like lots and bunches, and we should totally share. We'd mail each other books (and possibly snackies to go along with them), read them, and then mail them back. It'd be kinda like a big, ATGlike library full of awesomeness and win and good books.
So anyone up for it? It'd be kinda like the letter-writing thread but even better!
If you send your book, you should put your name and mailing address in the cover. 3nodding
Participating (and stuff we like to read): -Yunie -Tae (will read just about anything) -Pickles -Bass (I'm generally open to Sci-Fi and Fantasy, but I'm willing to give most genres a try. Except romance and "period" (Y'know, victorian and all that) stuff.) -Celes -Rica -Kerri (~Fantasy, and fiction that is not sci-fi ~Ask me otherwise, cause it's kinda complicated.) -Lazzy -Kals (I think?) -Terra
Extra stuff you can include: -little snacks -bookmarks (Chex's idea) -letters ('cuz the letter-writing thread kinda died) -postcards from your area (inspired by Jaft's thread)

Sweet!
Also, we were just thinking that we should maybe give people a list of possible books, and then they could say if there are any that they already own, but you could still surprise them with a book. Unless there's one they really really wanna read, or whatever?
Some of my mail-able books: (Excluding my hard-covers, sorry)
-All but the last two Wheel of Time books by Robert Jordan; the second-to-last is a huge hardcover, and I don't have the last one yet -The Hitchhiker's Guide books by Douglas Adams -Lost Souls by the wonderfully dark Poppy Z. Brite -Talk by Kathe Koja -Pretty Things by Sarra Manning -Boy Meets Boy by David Levithan -The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood -Cry to Heaven, Blood and Gold, and Blackwood Farm by Anne Rice -Haiku U by David M. Bader -The Last Herald-Mage Trilogy by Mercedes Lackey -The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde -The Poems of Dylan Thomas (not that exact edition, mine's from the 50s) -A collection of stories by Edgar Allan Poe -Dawn Thief by James Barclay -Memoirs of a Geisha (in French) by Arthur Golden -The Witch of Cologne by Tobsha Learner -Girl, Interrupted by Susanna Kaysen -Suicide Notes by Michael Thomas Ford (One of my only hardcovers I will lend.)

I would LOVE to do this. 8D
EDIT: Books I have? Seriously? I have a library in my house, we have at least 3000 books. xD Well, here's some that belong just to me, so I can definitely lend them out:
~A Series Of Unfortunate Events (I think I have the whole series)
~Eddie Dickens Trilogy, and second Eddie Dickens trilogy called "The Further Adventures of Eddie Dickens" : (very funny British series of books, fiction, for younger readers but it's funny to all age groups, as long as you like British humour) -Awful End -Dreadful Acts -Terrible Times -Dubious Deeds -Horrendous Habits -Final Curtain
~Fruit's Basket 1-6 (manga)
~Undead and Unwed (fantasy, "paranormal romance", uh.... has sex scenes, so be wary of that.. xD I think I have the whole series, but not sure, there's six books)
~The Complete Brother's Grimm Fairy Tales (I will ONLY lend this to you if I ABSOLUTELY trust you. It's my precious. emo )
~An Abundance of Katherines by John Green ~Looking For Alaska by John Green ~Paper Towns by John Green (All fiction)
~Dragon Bones* by Patricia Briggs ~Hob's Bargain by Patricia Briggs ~Raven's Shadow* by Patricia Briggs ~Moon Called* by Patricia Briggs (All fantasy. The ones with * means it's a series. There's more books by her, I just don't want to list them all. xD I have almost all of her books, except her anthologies and When Demons Walk and Masques. http://www.hurog.com/books/books.shtml That's her list of books. Honestly she's one of the best authors I or my parents have ever read.)
~Curse of Chalion by Lois McMaster Bujold ~Paladin of Souls by Lois McMaster Bujold ~The Sharing Knife series by Lois McMaster Bujold (the first three I definitely have) (Fantasy. Another absolutely amazing author. Yay alliteration!)
I also have lots of modern faerie tales... cause I'm mildly obsessed with fae... Um, seriously though, if you want a fantasy book and aren't sure what to read, I can get you one. xD I'm going to stop or I'll keep listing till I meet my post limit. xd
BOOKS I LIKE:
~Fantasy, and fiction that is not sci-fi ~Ask me otherwise, cause it's kinda complicated. xd
