Personality
Roma is a bubbly, playful soul, and has been that way for as long as he can remember. You could describe him as a big, overgrown foal. Roma sees the light in almost all situations, and while he can seem very naive at times, he isn't without a certain sort of wisdom. The stallion suffers from a bad case of wanderlust, and loves to travel about and see new things. Perhaps stemming from his somewhat childish personality, Roma's ability to deal with dangerous or frightening situations is quite stunted. He is easily spooked, and quick to flee, though if he had to help a friend in trouble, he'd try his very best. Though his naiveté can make him somewhat easily manipulated, Corso is often around to combat this and keep him out of harm's way.
History
Roma's past is a somewhat mysterious one. At first glance one might think that he belongs with humans, due to his scarf and bell, though this couldn't be further from the truth. Roma has never really told anyone about his life prior to his travels, and will usually dodge questions if asked, especially if they are about his odd accessories.
One of the only stories he will tell from his childhood, it seems, is when he met with his familiar, Corso the ermine, who he rescued from a creek when they were both quite young.
Some time ago he met a young mare named Solange and experienced his first fling with her. Though there was no animosity between the two of them, they decided not to settle down, and parted ways. Unaware, Roma had left the mare with three children, all of which he has yet to meet.
Likes
The sound of his bell and bells in general, Corso, experiencing new things, butterflies, seeing the seasons and weather change, visiting the seaside, dust baths, observing the world around him, running, racing, playing.
Dislikes
Being cornered, being tied down, having his freedom threatened, people who threaten the well-being of his friends, most humans.

Personality
Corso is a snide, cynical, and somewhat pessimistic sort. Though he isn't a constant raincloud over Roma's parade, he acts as a foil to his friend's naive nature, providing a roughened balance to Roma's childish softness. He can be quite rude, and bluntly honest, but his remarks rarely phase his easy-going companion. Having a much more mature outlook on life, he often provides Roma with useful advice, much of which Roma tries to take seriously. Though Corso is gifted with a weasel's sly and crafty nature, he has a moral code, instilled by his father, that he tries to follow.
History
Corso used to live with his parents and siblings on the bank of a creek until the area suffered a bad flash flood at the beginning of a heavy rain. The young ermine was separated from his family, and washed far downstream, where he was rescued from the water by a then-young Roma. Feeling indebted to the colt for saving his life, he decided to remain with Roma and has been with him ever since, accompanying him on almost every adventure and journey the stallion has taken. Corso takes it upon himself to watch his friend's back, knowing that the world isn't all rainbows and daisies (as Roma often thinks it is).
Likes
Good food, the advantage of having a horse for a friend, eggs, hunting, climbing, teasing Roma.
Dislikes
Floods, swimming, getting wet, eagles, hawks, lions, snobby females, most other soquili, skinwalkers (though he has never met one in person).

Personality
Flint could indeed be called a fire starter, as his name hints at. Perhaps not in a literal sense, but a figurative one, as he is a huge trouble maker and prank player. Still quite young, Flint has grown up with little adult guidance, and as such he loves to have a laugh at someone elses expense as often as possible. He'll use anything he can find to do so, from his own disguised voice, to a conveniently placed wasp's nest. Immature and flighty, Flint does not seem to have many friends. Despite his bad habit of joking around and playing tricks, he is not necessarily cruel, and might make a good companion if he allowed anyone to get close enough.
Like his father, who he has never known or met, he loves to wander around, though not nearly as broadly. He has never ventured to the seaside or mountains, and roams the plains and foothills, keeping mostly to himself.
History
Unlike Roma, Flint's life story is clear-cut, simple, and fairly short. Born to Solange, he was with her for less than a year before he was separated from her by a snowstorm. Though many a youngster might be horrified to be separated from its parent at such an age, cocksure Flint saw it as an opportunity to explore the world on his own for a while, resolving to meet up with his mother again eventually. He managed to survive the winter in the deep woods, where he met quite a few interesting creatures as he grew up.
As time passed, the colt quickly aged into a young stallion. He never found his mother, but still hopes to meet up with her again someday. He has never met his father, and is similarly unaware that he has two female siblings as well. One of his only friends is an unusual blue mountain lion who lives in the forest and rarely leaves the cover of the trees.
Likes
Playing jokes and tricks, telling dumb jokes, watching other soquili from afar, jumping out and scaring just about anything that moves, scaring or teasing Tsing'tu, making fun of things with Tsing, playing in the snow, knocking snow from the trees during winter.
Dislikes
Those who have no sense of humor, old-fashioned romance, being forced to stay in one spot.

Personality
Zanzil is an affable guy with a mouth on him. He loves to meet new people, and can sometimes be quite flirty with the mares. Though he is outgoing and personable, he chooses to remain in his home near the seaside, enjoying the warm sun and grazing on the tender grass the grows past the sand dunes. He hopes to meet a mer someday, even though he has never ventured far into the waves.
History
Zanzil was born and raised at the seaside. For reasons unknown to him, he never met his parents, and was raised from a basket by his grandmother, who passed away when he was about a year old. She failed to tell him about his ancestry, but she had raised him with tenderness and love, which he will never forget. He has remained at the sea ever since, living a peaceful life on the sand. The only time he'll ever leave is when the winter storms become particularly cold and unbearable, at which point he will migrate inland a ways until the weather becomes pleasant again.
Likes
Basking in the sun, playing in the waves, going to the tidepools, collecting seashells and interesting rocks, when other soquili visit the beach, mer soquili.
Dislikes
Jellyfish stings, being displaced by storms, snobby people, bad attitudes.

Personality
Jackknife, true to the fish he is based on, is a secretive seathi. Despite his disposition he is very curious, and can't remain cooped up in his home for very long. Accompanied by his best friend and familiar, a dolphin named Wijit, he enjoys swimming close to shore to watch the strange world beyond the waves. Having lived in the ocean for all his life, Jack has a certain curiosity about the world on land, and the soquili who live on it.
History
For as long as he can remember, Jack has been mostly alone in the world. When he came out of his protective shell as a tiny, kitten-sized foal, the first friendly thing he met was Wijit. His parents were nowhere to be found, but it's something that has never really bothered Jack. Living in the ocean, you come to realize that some animals make good parents, and others don't. With the help of Wijit he has thus far managed to life a healthy life and avoid predators.
Likes
Being out at night, seeing the moon and stars, visiting nearby tidepools, Wijit's friendship, watching the fish on the reef, collecting sand dollars.
Dislikes
Rough storms, big sharks, big octopi, being out in open water, when Wijit goes away for a long time.
Wijit
Personality
Wijit is a dolphin. He's playful, curious, and can also be quite hyper at times. While he can seem very scatter-brained when you first meet him, he is actually very clever when he tries. Wijit likes to help others when he can, even if it involves scaring off predators in order to protect a friend, namely Jackknife.
History
Wijit has spent most of his life in coastal waters, in a small pod of (Commerson's) dolphins that constitute his family. It is a carefree and happy life, moving up and down the coast and doing what dolphins do. Wijit was fairly young when he met Jackknife, but even then he was several times larger than the little seathi. Attracted by his stark black and white colors, the dolphin bonded instantly with Jack, and has spent much of his time protecting his little friend. Even though Jack is grown, he still greatly enjoys the other's company, and spends almost half his time with him.
Likes
Fish, exploring new reef spots, being with his family, exploring with Jackknife, fish, squids, games, using rocks or coral as playthings.
Dislikes
Sharks, sea slugs.
