It had been about two weeks since Jarett had last walked through the doors of the clinic. Dr. Marijus Virile had not liked that his "daddy day" had been interrupted because of the other man but he hadn't become a doctor of sorts for nothing. With a strange virus which claimed many lives back when he was younger it was hard for him not to follow his mother's foot steps in becoming the family physician. Although his line of work dealt closely with learning about various diseases and viruses rather than trying to take care of minor issues such as a broken foot.

Thus, the dilemma. He had to do a check up here and there within the clinic or he would be hounded by the head administrator for not contributing his fair share of clinic hours. He'd much rather be holed up in the labs with diagnosis, charts and a vary dangerous chance of catching any one of the known viruses in the vials.

Instead he was stuck staring at a chart with a familiar name. "Ugh." He groaned to himself eyeballing the dust teen that was happily poking at a glass tank which held fish inside.

"Don't be like that papa. Jarett was really nice so he should be happy to be getting that cast off soon. It's only a check up."

Although Marijus wondered why Cada was here and why he let the teen follow him around the clinic like an apprentice. Staring long enough he asked just that, "Why are you here?'

"To see Jarett again and the Rindou bottle!"

"It's still a bottle there's no point sticking around you know."

"So. I liked the bottle it was pretty and interesting. Besides I want to see how you take off a cast anyway. Shouldn't I be training if I'm going to be a doctor?"

"What's more disturbing is a doctor who has the ability to make his patients sick in the first place..." Though he didn't mean to be so harsh he couldn't help wondering.

Cadaver just pouted tapping lightly at the glass. "All the more reason to learn. I could find out how to fight back or at least control my powers." He hoped but he wasn't certain. It still pained him that he could very well kill any of his friends if he stuck around long enough for their immune systems to go haywire and crash with all the pestilence he could produce nowadays. "When is he coming?" The teen dust whined finally looking around for the man.

"SO WHERE ARE WE GOING?"

"To get my cast off."

"WHY?"

"Because it's time for me to either get an air cast, or at most a nice brace. It's been long enough that most of the bones in my foot should have healed at least a little, so I would like to be rid of this awkward addition to my body."

" . . . BUT HOW DID YOU BREAK YOUR FOOT?"

Such had been the way that the day started, and such was the conversation that echoed down the hall as Jarett tried to walk into the clinic, a bundle of questions following behind him and chattering at an astounding rate. Rindou had been full of questions since the very moment he woke up that morning, wanting to know about anything and everything that came to his mind. Jarett wasn't even sure how they'd managed to get out of the house without having to stop for Rindou to catch his breath, but to his own credit the boy hardly spoke as they made their way through the town - in fact he was eerily quiet.

Never one to look a gift horse in the mouth Jarett hadn't commented on it and instead made the pair move faster, their destination finally reached and everything signed it. It was when his name was called that the questions had started, and Jarett did his best to refrain from shouting at the dustling and telling him to be quiet. Everything was knew, he understood that, but there was a time for silence. Pretty much all the time, but still.

The pair entered the room silently, Rindou having grown quiet as though he once again were trying to learn something, and as Jarett sat down he gave the string on his arm a slight tug. Rindou obediently moved over and held his hand out, stopping at Jarett's side and placing his fingertips against the man's arms.

"Hello again Doctor, Cada. Good to see you."

His voice was pleasant, and so was the smile on his face. Rindou still said nothing.

Marijus' back was turned toward Jarett as he and the dustling entered. He was too busy rueing the day he met the man. He wanted to be in the lab so badly that he couldn't consintrate hard enough to care about a silly thing such as a cast. For now judging by the time line the man probably could go with a brace. Hmm? Maybe an air cast just to be a little vindictive...

By this time he turned at the sound of Jarett's voice. At least he was pleasant enough. Smiling half way before it went to a slight frown then a knowing nod his eyes roved over the dust child at his side. Apparently the bottle was now a child... interesting developments. "Jarett. I trust things have been well." He prodded mostly projecting the question toward his charge but he left that to Jarett to introduce the kid.

Unfortunately Cada was not so tactful that he instantly rusted forward taking the child's hand in his own. "Rindou!" He had remembered the name from before hoping that Jarett had not been lying about bestowing such a name to the dustling. "You have grown!" He beamed rubbing the child's hand very carefully yet excitedly. He moved quickly to Jarett with all smiles. "He's so pretty! When did he grow? Is he really named Rindou now? Ohhh white hair! You must love that it's so elegant..." And the rambling and fawning went on. For a moment it would have continued had Marijus not yanked the teen by the hood of his sweater to sit him quietly in the corner.

"Hush up. It's not that damn exciting ." The doctor muttered but then turned his attention to Jarett ignoring Rindou completely. "Let's get this over with..." He interjected leaving no room for argument, though his tone was left with a soft brush of curiosity. "Have you been having any unusual pain lately?" Was his first question. Apparently Marijus was all busniess today but that was only a mask for the many curious questions he had. One thing was for certain where he couldn't be so bold he was thankful for Cadaver who just didn't have the decency to give a damn. He gave a mental smile at that though.

Rindou was not prepared to be touched by anyone, and a soon as a set of hands descended upon his own his whole body reacted quickly. The color, were there any, quickly drained from his cheeks and he rose a bit off the ground - stopping at about six inches. When the older boy had finally been pulled away Rindou still was slightly nervous, both of his hands pressed against Jarett and his lips parted slightly with childish worry.

" . . . . . . "

He still did not speak, hardly knowing what to think, and Jarett reached over to ruffle his hair in a rare show of affection. It was funny to think that his loud child was so timid when placed in somewhere new without the feel of outdoors, but he wasn't going to push the issue. The boy was already floating as it is and he didn't need anything else in the room to be joining them any time soon.

"To answer questions in the order that they have been given, I am doing well and thank you for asking. His name is indeed Rindou, and he grew a little over a week ago? As for colors, it's a touchy issue I would rather you did not mention at the moment, as you can see he is wearing a blinder."

Jarett paused as Rindou's fingers seemed to tighten against him at the word 'color', though another pat on the head seemed to calm him.

"As for pain, I had to have my cast replaced about a week ago, around the same time this fellow appeared. I managed to fall from my ceiling and crack the plaster. Every now and then because of that incident I have some pain, but it is nothing too discomforting."

It appear Jarett was as careless as ever when it came to Rindou. First breaking his leg and then breaking the cast itself. There wasn't much Marijus could provide for advice outside of shaking his head and continuing with the check up. The doc didn't miss the reaction from Rindou out of the corner of his eyes. The boy was indeed intriguing to look at and with the blinder it made him fairly mysterious as well. The doc wondered about the blinder, he figured it had something to do with the way the dustling had been cling to Jarrett this whole time.

"I see." Marijus commenting absently to the man's pain issues. "Well withe a brace you should be fine getting around. If you have any serve pain call me otherwise some pain killers should do the trick

For the dust teen he seemed a bit put off by Rindou's less than enthusiastic response. Though he supposed it was normal. Coming into a new world did that. Cadaver had been super excited to the point of running around the house naked while asking all kinds of questions. Only at times like these he wished Mr. Happy where here. It was hard enough dealing with life on an even keel but without his beloved toy he felt incomplete.

Venturing a smile the teen dust backed away quietly. "I didn't mean to upset you Rindou its just exciting to meet knew dust like myself. When growing up there were so few around. " thinking things through the teen bowed lightly deciding he didn't like the sour mood the other boy was putting him in.

Rindou slowly lowered to the ground with Jarett's reassurance, his bare feet touching the cool of the tile and letting him now that he was indeed on the ground. Things had been really disorienting, so much so that when he had gone from sidewalk to tile it had left him nervous, but now that his feet had adjusted the sounds and smells were getting better....Rindou felt like talking.

"WHAT'S A DUST? IS THAT A DISEASE?"

Well, yelling perhaps. Jarett winced at the loud tone, but it was just like Rindou to think that if he was unable to see properly, people must be unable to hear him properly.

Apparently yelling was the way this young dust communicated something, Cada wasn't used to but would have to learn. He twitched slightly at the boys vocal expression but then smiled trying to find words to explain what they were.

"No a dust isn't a disease, we are a different type of species from the humans that take care of us. That's what a dust is, we were created by the goddess Aveh to protect the humans." At least that's what he could remember from the white feathered dust during that faithful event with the others he'd met that day. Any more information would have to be confiscated from the adult later.

"You like me are a dust. We have special powers to help aid in protecting our human friends... buuuuut... I'm not very sure how to use them at will." Well truth be told he never really tried using his abilities. They weren't the very best to have when one wanted to protect instead of infect. Sighing softly in thought he looked toward the gray skinned dust and smiled warmly. He wondered what it was like behind that blindfold? Was it dark and scary? Cadaver shivered slightly at the thought, not being able to see the world in vivid colors and blinding lights was definitely a punishment but it seemed Rindou had no problems... at least it didn't appear that way.

Marijus in the meantime continues his check up of Jarett. Finding the man to be in top condition there would be no problem putting him in a brace for the remainder of his healing process. "I'll have the nurse escort you to the prepping room for your brace. It should be easier to move around a bit but don't go running any marathons just yet... at the very least." He gave a light chuckle for himself before heading for the counter to pick up Jarett's records. "Well lets be off." And like so many times before he left the room and Jarett to Cada's care.

"Ack! I can help you if you need..." The eager teen jumped at the chance to help out. Wanting in so many ways to follow his surrogate father's footsteps to becoming a doctor. "Um.. if I can ask. Is... Rindou blind?" He whispered to the other as he moved in to give some support.

"No, he's not naturally blind. I've got him blindfolded for specific reasons that are hard to explain right now, but perhaps sometime in the future we'll let you know. Maybe by then he'll show us his eyes and tell you himself what's going on."

Jarett politely thanked Cada for trying to help him onto his feet, though he moved away from the Teenage Dust with a kind motion. Rindou was clinging to his side and actually balancing him out in a manner of speaking, so there was no need for further assistance. Rindou always had a strange air about him that kept the child perfectly balanced, never once had Jarett even seen him try to topple over.

"WHAT ARE WE TALKING ABOUT NOW?"

"Nothing now. We're going to get my cast changed and then we're going home. You'll get to play with Mr. Cada later on, alright? Now say that you'll see him later and let's move."

"SEE YOU LATER AND LET'S MOVE."

Jarett sighed and shook his head at the loudness of his Dust and how he was waving good-bye to the doctor's chair like he expected it to be Cada. The human didn't have the heart (or the time) to tell him anything else at the moment, so he gave the bob of his head in the proper direction instead. He started to guide his little charge out of the room and towards where a nurse had appeared to show them, ready to get his cast off.
