Actually, Clouds. The seven swordsmen of the mist could effectively be called weapons class.

Kisame can not be brought into an argument of classification, due to his sword's parasitic nature, which he pretty much stated was why he lasted so long in combat. Without that sword, I'm sure his chakra supply would be depleted more than fast enough.

As for making it a subclass, or ninja type, I just don't see that working well, for each ninja type seems to decrease one type of learning and increases length to learn another (i.e. support learns offensive skills faster, but don't lean summons as quickly).

I don't quite know if I would call the sevenswordsmen weapons class still. All of their swords so far have been catered around their ninja abilities.

Kisame High chakra supply and mastery of water jutsu = Parasitic sword.

The Lightning dude from the filler series = His swords were miniature lightning rods.

Zabuza's sword was an executioners blade but he was specifically an assassin type so he used it well.

And I'm sure that somehow the Mizukage's wierd guard's giant cleavers will come into play with his abilities.

I think the weapons are catered to what they can do as a ninja on a stand alone basis.

Well, of course they've catered to the ninja's abilities. I mean... what kind of writer would Kishimoto be if he gave Kisame a sword which spat fire?

An awesome one! He would then be the only good cook ninja, first he summons fish and then he cooks them.


I personally think if it is anything beyond a normal weapon it belongs to a special ninja. An Akatsuki, A kage, a sanin, a jonin, or someone specifically plot important.

I just don't know about that. I, for one, enjoy the weapons class, and so far all we can really say is 'I'm a little faster than you!'

Meanwhile, we had one Uchiha with a sword which could hold all five elemental chakras.

Striking the weapons class would be unreasonable, thus the idea came for a custom weapon permitted to those of the classification to level the playing field, so to speak.

if my opinion matters...i agree with cloud. i think that a custom weapon should only be allowed in the higher rank shinobi. especially since a powerful weapon usually requires power to wield it effectively so a genin or chunnin wouldnt have the skill.

Well, of course. Custom weapons won't be permitted until they make it up a bit. That's understandable.
