Will God forgive you for it?
I've said his name in vain many times and I hate it when i do but my grandma once said that it was an "unforgivable sin"
Is that true?
Am I going to Hell for saying his name in vain?

I said "GD" "JC" "G" and "J" a lot.
I'm trying to break the habit.

As always, living in unrepentant sin has serious consequences.
Though, I think I found two verses that should clear this up for you.

"Truly I say to you, all sins shall be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they utter; but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin."
Mark 3:28-29

From what I've learned (though this may apply more to my personal walk with Christ, but I think it applies here)...

In the Commandments, when it says 'use the Lord's name in vain,' it meant using God's name in a way that did not bring glory to Him, or using His name for something that did not represent God at all.
For example, say you had a charity that said it was Christian, but all the money went to somebody's bank account for themselves. That would be using God's name in vain.

I think it's a bad thing to use God's name in the way you stated, especially since you're pretty much using His name as a curse word, which means you're lowering the name down to that level.

I think the question you need to ask yourself is,
"Is the only time I ever talk about God, when something bad happens to me?
Or am I using his name to show how great He is?"

Jesus said the commandments were summed up into "Love God, and love others." If you're bringing glory to His name, that would be loving God. Otherwise we're not living for Him as much as we should be.

I know that there is God and Jesus and Mary but who is the holy Spirit?
How do you even blaspheme against it?

I used his name as a curse word I think.
I would say it if I hurt myself or when I messed up.
I would also say it If I saw something cool looking.

I don't want to do that anymore because I know that it is wrong.

The Holy Spirit is God's own Spirit. He is part of the Godhead, along with the Father and Son.
I'm not entirely sure how this particular type of blasphemy works. As near as I've been able to tell, it is when you give satanic forces credit for something that the Spirit has done.

I never was into that devil worshiping crap.

So The holy Spirit and God are pretty much the same thing?

So i can be forgiven right?

The trinity can be hard to grasp, but yes. They are the same.
You can be forgiven, but you need to take that to God.

Yes. Ask His forgiveness. He's the only one who has the power to forgive sins.

I'm sorry, i don't mean to bombard you with questions.
i just really want to understand, I've been wondering about this for awhile. XD

You can ask me as much as you'd like.

Like Mark says, any blasphemies of the sons of men can be forgiven, until you get to the ones against the Holy Spirit. Blasphemy can be forgiven.

So isn't saying "GD" Against the holy Spirit because God and the holy Spirit are the same thing?

Taking the Lord's name in vain isn't the unforgiveable sin. The unforgiveable sin is blasphemy against the Holy Ghost, which is denying Him place in your heart once you've already allowed Him in. Jesus said you can blasphemy Him and the Father, but not the Holy Ghost.
