Personality: Maita’i is a party animal. If there is a party or a gathering or a soiree she will be there to really get things going. She loves to goof off and have fun, and takes nothing seriously. If someone tries to get her to calm down, one of two things will happen. Either she will simply ignore them and go about her merry way or she will have a complete melt down. Tears, hoof stomping, screaming, the whole shebang. Basically, if you don’t like her personality and lifestyle, Maita’i invites you to kindly get lost and stop harshing on her vibe.

History: Maita’i was born on the most important celebration of her homeland. Literally. Her mother, not expecting to go into labor for another week, suddenly gave birth to her right there by the bonfire. Because of this, Maita’i has taken it upon herself to spread the joy and laughter of parties and celebrations to everyone else. Mostly herself. That’s why she came to these lands; she’d heard that the Soquili living here were grievously devoid of real parties, and she is here to remedy that.

Personality: Priscilla is very self absorbed, and will usually redirect the conversation back to herself. She tends to look down on other soquili, especially if they are not pure seathi. While she is mated to a rather adventurous seathi, she won't go on any travels with him. She fears she will ruin herself, either by scarring her body or tearing her fins. Instead she has adapted the role of “Lady who Does Lunch” meaning she basically does nothing all day but gossip with those she considers on her level over lunch.

History: Priscilla was the only child to her family, and as such was treated like a jewel. They made sure that she had everything she wanted and more, never told her no, and never disciplined her. When she did act out, and she did often, it was someone else’s fault, or the fault of her parents. Because of this, she grew up to learn that she was the beginning and end of every day. That’s how she lives her life now. Knowing that she is the reason everyone else has for getting up in the morning and the thing they look forward to when laying down at night.

Personality: Glain is a very odd Harpy. She believes that males are more suited for lovers than pets, and should be treated as equals. That being said, she does not make waves in the flock she calls her part-time-home. She allows her sisters to treat the males as they wish to treat them, and they allow her to do as she believes. She is best with children, her job in the flock being a nanny. She's a very soft touch, and tends to give into the whims of little ones.

History: Glain was raised in the Harpy Flock to be domineering and consider herself above stallions but… something in that didn’t sit well with Glain. For some reason, she preferred to think of stallions as her equals, someone that she can walk through life besides, not in front of. However, she did her best not to make waves in her Flock and kept her beleifs to herself.

Within the flock, Glain found that she was exceptionally good with the foals. She understood them, and knew how to handle them where other members simply got frusterated. No, Glain adored the little ones, and found herslef happily wrapped around their little hooves. She still acts as nanny and midwife, even thought she now lives outside fo the boundaries of her Flock with her mate, Shuckles.

Personality: Molly is like her daughter, Scarlet, in one sense. She finds deep, endless amusement in the simplest things. Unlike, her daughter, however, she rather hides that fact. She'll watch flowers swaying forever, but only so long as she is alone. She'll talk to butterflies once everyone in out of ear shot. She's not ashamed of her tendencies, she just feels that it's a little odd for a grown mare to act in such a manner. When others are around, she tends to act more uptight. A place for everything, and everything in it's place. She cleans endlessly and likes her home to be full and stocked.

History: Long before Molly came to find her daughter, she lived in a far away land with her mate and two children. A kalona had attacked them one night and slaughtered Lionel and Rutherford before she could do anything. But that monster would not take her daughter from her. They both ran through the night, jumping at shadows and crickets in the woods until the sun came up. They assumed they were safe. They were wrong. Watching them quietly through the brush, the Kalona had followed them. Molly saw her on accident and froze. If she gave away her knowledge, they were both dead. Instead, she sent her daughter off to get water. Take a bath and relax. While Scarlet was gone, Molly broke into a run, giving the Kalona the chase she craved. When she finally lost the predator, she had run so far that she could no longer find her way back home if she tried. Molly never forgave herself to abandoning her daughter.

The first chance she got, Molly traveled to the Soquili Lands in order to find the daughter she left. She looked endless months and years before she finally found her by chance. They had both come to the same river to relax and saw one another across the banks. It was an emotional reunion, and even more emotional introduction her Scarlet’s family. Now Molly is settling into her new life with her long lost daughter happily.

Personality: Amelia Rose is the beginning and end of all things. If you are not up to her standards of beauty, then she won't waste her breath and take time only to tell you how to get, permanently, lost. As shallow as she is, she is just as vapid. She knows little of anything and a whole lost about nothing. She is easily swayed by pretty words and flattery, which is what got her three children.

History: Amelia doesn’t want to talk about what she was before she came to these lands, but while she’s here, she has been making a name for herself the queen she thinks she is. Recently, however, her flirting has gotten in in some “temporary” trouble. One night with a stallion named Ritalin resulted in two daughters, not that it slowed her down. Often times she left the girls alone to fend for themselves, sometimes for days at a time while she maintained her own lifestyle. Personality: They say taht great pain births grate artists, and while this may not be a universal truth, is is true with Lucian. A poet born of sorrow and pain, Lucian observes the world around him with a keen eye. He understands that soquili have pasts, and that they may not necessarily be proud of those pasts, and uses that to find the poem in each life he meets. He believes that everything that happened to someone happened to shape them into who they are now, and changing that would change them. That’s what makes them beautiful to them. The scars they hold are the best thing to Lucian, because they show that the soquili has lived and fought and cried. They are, in a sense, truly alive for those scars.

History: Lucian… had a rough go. His mother, Branwen, died when he and his siblings were born, plummeting his father into deep depression for many years. Because of this, Claude and Istas were the ones who tended the baskets and simultaneously. They were good surrogate parents, but when Neva attacked, there was nothing they could do. She snatched the first basket she could get her hooves on and ran away with it. Lucian spent his formative years with his blood-thirsty aunt, being slowly poisoned against his family. “They left you,” she told him. “They let me take you from them.” She poured her malice into Lucian and taught him how to kill. When he was a young stallion, she set him on his former family. Claude was old and tired and it was the middle of the night and Lucian would have killed him had Nadia not stopped him. And he would have loved killing his grandfather.

That night Nadia dragged him off and began the arduous task of bringing him back to himself. It took months and Lucian spent most of that time dreaming of ways to get out and get back to his bloody business. He warned her that his mother, Neva, would surely find him and then she’d be sorry. But… she never did come to find him. Rage turned to sorrow and Nadia saw her chance to strike. When he was vulnerable and grieving, Nadia began the true work of nursing him back to himself, rehabilitating him until she felt that he was ready. He followed her home and is now working with his grandfather to earn redemption through knighthood and build a relationship with his stranger of a father.

Recently, Lucian has been spending his time with a quiet and terrified mare named Tefnut. He worked hard to prove to her that despite his frightening tail, he was a kind stallion. Now that she enjoys his company nad no longer shudders at his tail, he spends more time with her than his Lafayette and Claude's family. Honestly, he feels better with Tefnut. He doesn't have to fix anything with her. Just move forward and keep making good memories.

Personality: Ikaroa is a crotchety old man who would prefer to live out the rest of his days in the peace and quiet of his seaside cave. However, if you must grace him with your presence, then he demands silence and that none of this things be touched. Basically sit very still and say nothing until you need to leave. It is a favorite past time of children visiting the coast where his home is and shout into his cave, rousing Ikaroa from his quiet grumping to bluster out, growling and cussing and chasing them off.

History: Ikaroa was once the leader of the first band to set foot on Kawani lands. He was once proud, dignified, and a fixed point on the horizon for his tribe. Since then, however, he has gone into retirement, and not out of choice. Once his tribe settled in, they found little need for a leader. They were among so many other different and free species, why should they not also be free. Try as Ikaroa might to retain his position not for himself, but for his tribe, he lost it. Many factions parted ways, splitting the band up into fragments right before Ikaroa's eyes. And so, cast aside and alone, Ikaroa retired to his seaside cave with only memories behind him and the endless stretch of tomorrow before him.

Come to find out, his cave was already occupied by a hummingbird as solitary and hard to get along with as he was. Several days of cold warfare passed before they struck up an agreement. Ikaroa would be left alone as long as he left Elias alone. And so they began their companionship. Ikaroa kept other birds and soquili away and Elias didn't drop seeds on his head while he slept.

Personality: Elias is, in a word, mean. Like Ikaroa, Elias prefers the silence of his seaside cave (it was his first before Ikaroa imposed and refused to leave). Anyone who tried to enter his abode without his permission was quickly chased out with beak and talons and very small projectiles. His favorite thing to do is sit in trees outside of the cave and throw seeds and nuts down on soquili trying to enjoy their time at his beach.

History: Elias didn't have a troubled home. He had a mother, a father, and siblings. They were attentive and kind, as any family would be. He never had his head broken, never was widowed, left alone, or abandoned. He just preferred to have time to himself. The more and more time he spent alone, the more he forgot how to be around others.

One day, a very small stallion began bringing things into the mouth of the cave, little things like sticks and twigs and leaves. Nothing major. Elias just figured that he was storing things, so he let it happen. He'd be able to pick out of the pile for himself after all. But then the stallion began organizing. And setting up. And... nesting. Elias could stand it no more. The stallion's nest was right under Elias' alcove high up in the cave wall, and so whenever he was finished eating, he would toss the shells and hulls out, hurtling down onto the head of the stallion below.

Finally, they came to a meeting. The stallion was arriving home from gathering as Elais was leaving. The stallion, later revealed to be called Ikaroa, called Elias down and he obeyed, perhaps out of want for a proper fight. After many angry words and threats were exchanged, Elais agreed that Ikaroa could stay so long as he kept the floor of the cave clean and allowed Elias to take of his stores, then Elias would keep the shoreline immediately outside of the mouth of the cave clear and stop bothering Ikaroa.

The two now have a very quiet very cold relationship build solely on the desire to be alone. And it works.

Personality: Straterra didn't really start out as a super nice mare, but with the recent absence of her beloved sister, she's only rotted more in spirit. Mostly Straterra keeps to herself in the little hovel that she refuses to call a home.

History: WARNING ABUSE TRIGGER BELOW
Straterra's mother had a one night stand with and equally irresponsible and mean stallion and as such Straterra and her sister's were left by themselves most of the time. At some point, one of the girls ran off, and Amelia hasn't seen or heard from her since.

Through Terra's childhood, her mother was neglectful and cruel. She would often blame the children for her ruined figure, the failing health, the rain, and whatever else she could think of. On a good day, this manifested in her standing over Straterra and Ambien shouting at them. On a bad one, though, Amelia wounded more than Terra's pride. But she could take it. As long as Ambien was safe and as happy as possible. If Terra took both servings of beatings, then Ambien went untouched. It was enough.

Once they were old enough, Straterra woke Ambien in the night and ran away with her to make their own home, where the two lived very happily for years. Until, that was, Ambien decided that she wanted more from life than what her mean spirited and protective sister could offer. She fell in love and left with a stallion, leaving Straterra to wonder what she could have done differently to keep her sister.

Personality: Shun is a stallion of infinite patience. He can handle patients ranging from docile to violent with soothing ease. Even out of his practice, Shun lives in a healing pool of soft light, inviting others into it whenever they need calm. That being said, there is some goofiness in his calm demeanor. He's got this lopsided grin that he gets when he makes his really bad dad jokes and puns.

History: Shun comes from a long line of healers, and each generation has passed down his or her healing techniques or tricks to the next. Shun is the culmination of six generations of practice, and as such takes his job very seriously. Before coming to the Kawani Lands, he apprenticed under his father, learning how to crush and muddle herbs and spices to numb pain, sooth soreness, and more.

Personality: Literally everything that Okiedokie does is huge. She didn't find a big clear river, she found a river that is easily a mile wide with waters more clear than crystal and sweeter than honey. She didn't get frightened by a pat in a cave, she was ruthlessly attacked by a winged demon with talons dripping with acid and a shriek high enough to shatter glass. In short, she has a pension for exaggeration. This paired with her adventurer's spirit makes for some great stories when the day is done.

History: Okeechobee was gifted to her two moms and dad by the wishing star, and as such is a bit of ad oddity. She is one of many wishing star babies in her parents' herd, and so she has never felt left out, especially not with her older brother Koko hovering over her.
