"Art is expression."
We can all agree with that quote, I tend to think. As artists, we almost constantly do whatever we can to stand out just a bit more. I've actually noticed that I hold a severe dislike for video games where you can't throw a personal touch on your character and I can't get enough of ones with long, complicated character creation in which you can change everything. It's all a matter of art... in this case, it's all a matter of expression. We do what we can to prove that we are an individual that, despite the horrors of normality, exists. We are here simply because we are, look at us how you will. Most people seem to love this about us as much as we love to express it... so I was wondering...
What are some things you guys notice that you do to prove your own individuality?

I notice that I almost always wear my goth/punk gear and clothing when I go out somewhere. It's a natural thing for me, I love the reactions I get when I weird people out. I also love spending like two hours creating a character for a video game, and take even more time trying to figure out what I want that character to specialize in.

I find myself doing things that everyone is afraid to do im a dare devil of sorts and very random and out spoken. I have no filter what so ever and tell people exactly what i think. Plus i wear a variety of different clothes and people always look at me funny. also im very loud and i express that a lot and i get all kinds of looks from people and i think its hilarious.

I'm always wearing dark blue jeans, and I wear my steel-toed boots whenever I can. Plus I have a jacket that I've essentially trademarked, 'cause if I have it on, the sleeves are rolled up and folded under themselves so it looks like it's just a short-sleeve hoodie. ^.^
I'm with Gothic on this one, too. I spend hours on my characters. Which is why I tend to have a variety of them prepared if I'm playing with someone else--they'd never wait for me to make a new one. I have a SCIV character that I've probably spent about twelve hours customizing total. xD
And prettywomen444, I too am very loud. I was in one of the huge open areas of my high school earlier today and I randomly shouted "It's aliiiiivvvvve!"... xD

I find that im outspoken and always do things out of the norm. Im a dare devil as well. Im always looking for things to experiment with and im also willing to do quite any stunt.Plus i tend to do things on a dime without thinking to much. Like for example this dude was sitting at one of our dances and my friends were starting to think about trying him to dance with us. I just rolled my eyes with out a word I was already over there inviting him to join in some fun.I always get strange looks for these.I too spend hours upon characters. I absolutely love it! Like in Rps It usually takes me forever and it really comes out well.

Yeah... It seems artists are generally masters of our emotions. I guess we all just kinda subconsciously dropped the pointless parts of nervousness somewhere along the road, eh? We seem to be the only group of people who don't mind being the voyagers of our posse. xD

Bravo Psych, vary well written. xd
The things that define my individuality are many. But for the most part a few months ago I've decided to stop buying commercialized things such as most clothing. In turn I've gone to shopping at places like Goodwill ,or just being DIY about the whole thing. Even though my girlfriend does most of the sewing for me. xp My next step is screen printing my own shirts.
I just find little different things, like that how when we were children that we didn't care how we looked or if it matched. I feel like I don't want to fall into looking like anything but me. *shrugs* I'm just weird, what else is there to say? lol

I was actually getting ready to say something like that before I read the replies. xD I won't wear clothing with a logo on the outside except for my old Orange County Choppers jacket. Which I won't wear for many other reasons. One being I don't even have it anymore.
The only commercial clothing I'll wear is T-shirts, and even those are limited to Old Navy. Not like it matters--they're hidden by my jacket anyway. xD
I like your "anything but myself" comment, too. Though it is constantly in battle with the rest of the world, every life is the property of that life alone. My favorite thing to see is people keeping that fact alive. ^.^

Wonderfully written, thank you for asking.
I noticed through time that I got to know more people through talking to them, or simply being with them. It fascinated me how everyone is different, and that some of them are not what they seem. I see myself as being a people person- I love public speaking and my friends would always ask me, "Do you get nervous when you do it?" and I realized myself that I grew confident in my abilities as an artists who wants to speak their mind; like we all do.
I would do things that no one else would because I wanted to, and I can.
