Alright so, I've got a great idea for a book. It's got a good hook and everything. I'm really hoping to knock out a huge chunk of it during NaNoWriMo, but I have no idea how to start it.

Usually I just start writing scenes and string them together.
But I'm not sure which scene to jump into first.
There's emotional ties to the story, and I've got to get
them out on paper.

I'm completely content with not starting out writing the
beginning. I just need to get something out.

Any tips?

When I'm faced with a similar challenge of not knowing where exactly to start I tend to pick whichever scene speaks loudest to me and go from there. You can always go back to a previous scene after or switch to another if the current one starts giving you issues. This of course does not work for everyone but it's a start. If you have an outline done, give it a quick scan and find the part that jumps out at you, start writing there and see what happens.

Occasionally, if I'm uncertain how to begin writing a scene I will start writing from the middle instead, or where ever I have a clearer idea of what is happening. You can go back and fill in the blanks later.
