Our Story Starts...

"Places like Kirkwall are always changing, yet always stay the same. A city of adventure, yet also a city of extreme danger and eternal conflict..."

Truer words have never been spoken. Even though it's been five years since the incident regarding the ravaged Chantry, Hawke's great stand for mage rights, as well as the necessary death of Knight-Commander Meredith, things are just as chaotic as ever. In such violent and unruly times, as we all know, new heroes are bound to be born. Bound to bring change, no matter how temporary. Bound to live out legends and bound to give hope to the hopeless.

This particular story revolves around a most peculiar bunch of heroes, some from...odd origins to say the least, one that spans across years and years of conflict. Are you one such hero, bound to raise one's blade for the sake of their beliefs(or coin)? Are you one who would dare oppose such heroes? Or are you someone of a lesser role, someone stuck in the middle? Only time shall tell, my friend...

A Personal Note?

1. For convenience's sake, Hawke is a female mage. There will be nothing more clarified on this matter, not even which lover she actually took. Everyone who has played the games has a different view and ideal for Hawke, and to go any further than this would incite massive DIEFORMYSHIP Wars. Do you want a bunch of angry fantards(myself included) fighting over who porked Hawke in the final act with every inch of NERD RAEG we can muster up? No? I ******** thought so.

2. You are not to cyber within this roleplay thread. I will never go any further than heavy hinting and a timeskip, but for those who absolutely must get down and dirty with the details, take it to the PM's, please.

3. Godmodding, Power-Playing, Consta-Dodging, Flaying and/or Killing Other People's Characters Without Permission, and/or Auto-Hitting are prohibited unless they are warranted for the given situation. Asplosionator and Animeprincess_9400 will be the judges of that. Chances are, that means little to none will be allowed unless it is for storyline advancement reasons.

4. This roleplay will go by in Arcs, as will be explained in a post below.

5. If you have difficulty understanding anything refferenced in this roleplay or if you are unfamiliar with the series yet wish to join anyway, you should visit the Dragon Age wiki. If there's anything not addressed there that you need help with, I will be more than happy to help to the best of my ability.

6. Extras are never a permanent addition to the 'Party'/(aka MAIN HEROES), even if they do associate with them frequently. You may not play one unless the appropriate number of hero spots are taken, or unles you yourself are playing a hero and/or Arc villain character.

7. You must PM Animeprincess_9400 with your character profiles. They shall be entitled BROODMOTHER to prove that you read the rules. Oh, and you should totally highlight this. Would make things much easier.

8. If you join and become inactive for three days or longer without prior notice, you will be sent a reminder PM. If you take longer than three days to update me, then your character will either be lent to someone else or removed so someone else can have a chance at that role.

MAGES AND TEMPLARS

Ever since Hawke sided with the mages and took down Knight-Commander Meredith, the entirety of Kirkwall has become a battlefield between Templars and Apostates. Blood-Magic is at an all time high, as are the abominations that are being formed from the pacts between demons and blood mages. Only with the reconstruction of Kirkwall has any of the attention from the battle between the two factions been taken away. However, fights and riots are starting up once again. Who will take over Kirkwall once and for all? The mages? Or the Templars?

Bio: Dahlia is, both fortunately and not, a mage who was never sent to the nearest tower when her magical abilities were discovered. As an apostate, that meant that she often couldn't afford to settle in one place for long, lest the Templars get their blades close enough to her neck. She learned how to use proper magic from her grandmother before she passed away, and learned her unusual street-preforming talents from her mother and father. Once Dahlia was old enough to look after herself, she left their company, not wanting to burden her family further than she already had. Instead of finding a nice and secluded place to stay, she continued travelling the world, learning whatever she could about the different cultures of the people of Thedas. Somehow, she was dumb enough to let herself end up in Kirkwall. Not that she minds, of course. Kirkwall is most certainly...interesting to say the least.

Bio: She was born with magic—the only woman in the entirety of Par Vollen to have the misfortune. Thus, she was given the same treatment as the rest of the Saarebas. She was sent to Kirkwall with the Arishok, but joined the Tal-Vashoth and later ran away from them as well, hiding with a sympathetic family in the Undercity. She kept the things that marked her as Saarebas, since they were the only link to the Qun she had abandoned. She stayed in the Undercity throughout the entire spectacle with the Champion, only daring to venture out once everything had seemingly settled and she could not bear to put her benefactors in danger for any longer.

Bio: Lyria didn't grow up in the best environment. Her family was dirt poor and always complained about one thing or another, in part due to her father's apparent old age and mother's apparent illness, making their only daughter go out and try to bring back money. She started small enough, just nabbing enough food here and there to keep everyone alive, but stealing for so long helped her learn to get better, and learn new tricks in her unlawful trade. The older she got, the better loot she brought back. First came the food off of merchant stalls, then pickpocketing the coin purses of strangers, and finally became a true rogue after she started picking locks and robbing houses in the dead of night, and acting as a conwoman in the day. Once she started bringing in the bigger hauls though did she draw the line. Her family was now beyond set for life and her parents still acted poor and miserable, continuing to use her as their meal ticket. Finally sick of it all and taking a stand, she took all the money they had for 'traveling expenses' and left their hovel, setting out on the road for a better life and one of adventure, preferably one where she could put her skills to use.

It wasn't hard to tell he wasn't like the others simply by looking at himself but the man and his wife who were taking to raising the boys kindness and love were something genuine. He like the one who raised him joined the city guard making a place for himself easily but always feeling like there was more for him to do then simply guard the city.

Soren: Surprisingly the youngest of the triplets. He is taller and bulkier than his brothers and stronger too when it comes to brute strength. He has more Qunari traits than his brothers.

Bio: When she was young, she didn't have a name; her master called her either Girl or Whore. Eventually she escaped from her master and made her way to Kirkwall, tantalized by stories of its splendors. She made it there and quickly found the only place that she could be employed for any length of time was the Blooming Rose, so she got a job there and took the name Lady of Ninety Nights, boasting that she could make love for ninety nights straight and not tire, a claim that was tested extensively (and found true). After that, the Lady began to tentatively go out more. She was, thankfully, in the Rose during the time of the mage uprising, with a client. And afterwards, she went back to her reclusive life for a long time.
