Clan Information and Basics
Basic Information
In the vampire community, there are such things as clans. These clans are created by older vampires. The eldest vampire in a clan is the leader of that particular clan and is called the Clan Leader.
In order to add more vampires to a clan, the Clan Leader must turn people into vampires. Only a Clan Leader can create vampires. In order to have a vampire character, they must be turned by a pre-existing, Clan Leader vampire. Whenever a Clan Leader has turned someone, the Clan Leader must take the new vampire under their wing (they don't have to, but it is considered a crime to the Council if they don't and are found out) and it is up to the jurisdiction of the Clan Leader as to when to stop looking after the fledgling vampire.
Every clan has their own rules, called Tenets. The Clan Leader will describe them to their fledgling.
Whenever a Clan Leader turns someone into a vampire, the fledgling automatically joins their clan. Clan Leaders cannot change anyone under the age of 15. Also, any other vampire that is not a Clan Leader caught turning people is considered betraying their Clan Leader and becomes an enemy of the Council.
If something happens, a fledgling vampire or a Clan Leader can appeal to the Council and request to have a new overseer for the fledgling vampire. A vampire can also appeal to the Council to be a part of another clan. This is only accepted on rare occasions.
To form a new clan, the younger vampire must prove their worth and capability to the Clan Leader of their current clan. The requirements needed to be met will be different between each clan. For the most part, most Clan Leaders will look for responsible and capable vampires.
The Clan Leader is also a Council Member, which means that they will be called upon to represent their clan during a Council Meeting. The oldest vampire in existence will direct the Council Meeting.

Profile Updating
In order to become a vampire, you must be turned. The only exceptions to this rule are the starter vampires, Strike and Jack.
You must keep in mind that you will either choose to be a vampire as well as a student/professor/Hogsmeade shop owner/working adult witch/wizard, or give up the life of a student/professor/Hogsmeade shop owner/working adult witch/wizard. It is not an easy choice and it is a huge decision to make.
If you decide to continue being a student/professor/Hogsmeade shop owner/working adult witch/wizard... All the luck to you, mate! It won't be easy. You have to avoid the sunlight, be watched over by your elder vampire, and do all that's required of you from your clan, all while keeping your life going. It's your choice, nonetheless, and we wish you the best of luck. You must request a More-Than-Average slot.
This means that you will be adding info to your existing character and requesting an MTA slot. You will not need to make a new profile in Magical Creatures subforum.
If you decide to live the life of a vampire... You will still have responsibilities required of you by the vampire who turned you until you can prove to be capable on your own. There is also the clan to keep in mind. Once you're on your own two feet without an elder vampire assisting you, you can choose to do whatever you want (as long as it doesn't break clan code) or even make a new clan of your own.
This means that you will be making a new profile in Magical Creatures subforum.
If you are for sure a changed vampire, add this in your profile right underneath gender:
I am a vampire, turned by (Who turned you? What clan are they? e.g. Adrian "Strike" Johnson of the Striker's Clan)
My special power is (you only get one, and try to make it creative! Be unique compared to the other vampires)
And then add this in place of your age:
I'm (Vampire Age) years old, but look around (Age when turned. This never changes)
