Callie was his first family member and coming into the herd would make his heart 1000x's bigger and he would protect them all to the best of his abilities!~

This sounds good. I would suggest that Penvyma still carry a Lantern. When he goes through the ceremony he could be granted one of the same color as his glow or even something contrasting like Orange (Whatever you would like for a color for Rp purposes).
He's welcome to live in his Pumpkin Patch but keep in mind the frequent visits that would be required for assignments, or herd activities.
