It was painful to say the least watching Strike break down. Yuan felt more a fool for not trusting this man from the beginning. Would this have been prevented if he had just moved faster? He tried not to let his thoughts linger there as he watched Lilith tell Strike what he needed to do to save his fledgling. Was this really they only way? Could they not go after the vials of blood? Was there really no choice in the matter? Yuan watched unsure and silent as Strike prepared to sacrifice everything for this man. It was a feeling he understood to a degree. He knew he would have laid his life down if it meant Lior would walk away alive from danger. Fate was a cruel thing right now and Yuan wished he had seen this coming from another vision. Everything seemed to stop though when Lilith spoke again. Once again his eyes were drawn to this strange and beautiful woman as she spoke to Strike. Adrian...such a name to get used too. He'd have to find out what he preferred to go by. His eyes went wide as she explained the alternative and Yuan couldn't' believe his ears. She was going too? Oh lord this was starting to get to be too much.

"Miss Lily?" Came a soft voice by his ear and Yuan startled not even thinking about the fact that his son had seemed to grown attached to the Vampire. "Papa what's she doing? What's going on?" Yuan pressed his boy's head back into his shoulder finding his eyes wet again with tears, the emotions starting to roll within him again at the sounds of Strike's wails and Lior's questions. "Hush little light, I'll explain later." Yuan looked up when Dragon spoke and found his attention immediately pulled to the man in the chair. Before he could react Jason had dragged one of the Family members over for the Vampire to feed on. Would it be enough? Setting Lior at his feet but keeping a hold of his hand, Yuan moved a bit closer to the one named Jack. "Is that going to be enough? If not you can have some from me. We need to leave some of these....men.....alive to pay for what they did." He continued looking at Dragon and Jack as he wasn't even slightly sure what a feeding limit was.

Feeling something pushed into his arms, he looked over, with blurry eyes. It was a man. A human man with a pulse. It echoed in his head like a melody, forcing his fangs to emerge. The slow heartbeat of this man was like music to his ears. There was blood in this man, pouring through arteries and veins. Jack had never craved something so bad in his life as the thought of this man's blood on his tongue invaded his thoughts. He couldn't even hear Strike over the sound of this man's pulse.

Jack latched himself onto this man, pulling him into his own body. So warm, he noted. So alive. Jack was so animalistic at this point that he growled low at this man. His fangs sank into the man's neck in moments, draining him quickly of his blood. The man did not fight, did not scream. And Jack drained him completely before he finally let go and rolled onto his back, panting.

He had to stop that habit some day.

Standing up, Jack looked around at his surroundings. There were people here. People he recognized and others he did not. He smiled and furrowed his eyebrows, "Cinq? Zane? Inari? Where are we? And, why are we here?" he laughed, a little nervously. Then he glanced around and thought he saw purple hair.

"Is that...?" his voice was lost to him as he finally heard the weeping from his maker, his clan leader. There was someone holding him from running outside. Even he could see that it was daylight out there. Jack looked at the others with confusion, "What's going on?" he whispered.

It had been exactly as Lilith told him. That she was going to show him everything. Make him remember somehow. She knew all along that this would happen. That, once she showed him his past, once she was beginning to leave him for good, he would have followed her into the inferno. He would have simply thrown his life away, when he had so much left here to do. Lilith had lived her life and, as horrible as Dragon felt while Strike begged with a tear-streaked face, he could not let go. Because one of the things Lilith had ordered Dragon do was to prevent Strike from following her.

Thus, he threw his arms around Strike and overpowered him. Being older and stronger, it was not a struggle physically. Emotionally, however, he was keeping himself from crying. The events that were unfolding in front of him were very heart-wrenching, to say the least. Dragon kept himself strong, however, knowing that he had to follow everything that Lilith had told him. He had to.

When Strike had slumped in his arms, Dragon whispered in his ear, "I am so sorry... I am so sorry," he rubbed Strike's arms, trying to calm him down. When it seemed that Strike had regained some of his sanity, Dragon continued, "Let us hold Council here. With three fledglings and four mortals as our witnesses. Let us give this Family hell for what they've done,"

Strike did not speak for a moment, but then nodded. Slowly at first, then vehemently. The light in his eyes was returning. Dragon knew that Strike thrived on vengeance and hatred for the most part, but he wondered how much of that about Strike would change now that all this had happened. A man does not simply walk away the same after seeing that. Dragon sure wasn't going to.

Standing with Strike, arm around his shoulders, Dragon looked at the group before him and announced, "Downstairs, so that we may hold a trial for these creatures. The ones up here, they are small things. They will feed the remaining vampires while we squat here for the day. That includes you, boy," he nodded to Chris. It was his chance to feed from one of the beings that was still alive up here, "The ones downstairs are higher ups and deserve a more intensive punishment. Strike and I, as Vampire Councilors, invite you all to be our witnesses as we decide their verdicts," his accent was thicker with his anger.

This Family would pay for what they had forced him to do.

Together, the two vampires descended the stairs to the Blood Room, then to the chamber that had housed Lilith for two hundred years.

And now I walk a lonely road...

Chris had been hypnotized by the events happening with the violet-haired man that he hadn't realized that the other had fed off of someone. That is, until Dragon spoke. Oh Merlin, he didn't just ask what he thought he did, did he? He cast about, trying to figure out what he was supposed to do. Well, sure, he knew that vampires needed blood to survive, and that ended up usually falling to biting people on the neck. Unfortunately, that was as far as his confused mind would allow. He was still way too new, too unused to the occurrences around him to fully process what was going on.

It was almost like being stuck in a vortex, where he was at the center of chaos. At least, to his normally-ordered mind, that's what it felt like. Besides, had Dragon just ordered him to kill? He wasn't a murderer! Heck, he'd never so much as hurt a fly! He backed up, his back hitting a wall as he realized precisely what was being asked of him. Why the bloody hell had he even agreed, anyway?

Swallowing hard, he finally noticed the man that had been severely injured finish with what... Oh. Well, that made sense, in a kind of sick way. He'd been a vampire, and had needed to feed. Chris just felt sick at the sight. It had never occurred to him that there were other vampires here, even though Dragon had informed him the Family had been hunting them. Swallowing again, he licked his lips.

"Umm, you wouldn't happen to know...?" Merlin, he couldn't even say it, could he? He was sure that he had to speak up, but what would he say? "H-he wants me to eat someone?"

With no light to guide my way.

Jack did a double-take as the young vampire asked him how to feed. You mean, his maker didn't teach him? Poor thing. It must have been difficult for him to be so hungry, yet not know how to feed yourself. This vampire was a baby. Jack could tell by how uncomfortable feeding seemed to him. And, the vampire he didn't recognize had simply expected the child to know how to feed? Jack scoffed.

He went over and dragged an unconscious man from his spot and dropped it at this boy's feet, "You're new, so be careful of your strength," Jack glanced at where Dragon had disappeared to, and then back at the boy, flashing his fangs, "Just bite into his neck and drink. Slowly," he nodded.

This fledgling could do it, "What's your name?"

And now I walk a lonely road...

Chris's eyes widened as he heard what the man said. He just had to bite and drink? Remembering how his stomach revolted the last time he had drank anyone's blood, he felt queasy. Now he was being shown how to feed, and he really didn't exactly know how to react.

"You're being quite indifferent to this, aren't you? I, I've never hurt anyone before..." This was his life now, wasn't it? He did make that choice, didn't he? He looked around and swallowed. "I'm Chris, Chris Whitethorne. Sorry, I'm not used to being asked to murder someone."

Oh boy, wasn't that an understatement. Gritting his teeth, he sank down to his knees beside the victim. Then, after taking a couple of steadying breaths, he held the person by the neck and stopped. Oh lord, he could still feel a pulse. The guy was still alive. Chris froze, then just mentally steeling himself, sank his teeth into the man's throat.

The Flavor exploded into his mouth immediately. Unused to it, he let it flood in until he started swallowing. He didn't feel the pulse slow and weaken, and didn't realize that the man was dead until he finally came up for air. Horrified, he threw the body aside, and backed against the wall. He'd done it. Merlin, he'd killed someone. Raising a shaking hand to his face, he wiped the blood away from his mouth, eyes wide and looking over at the other vampire in horror.

With no light to guide my way.

▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄Zane▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄Acacia▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

Striker's ClanShrieking Shack Bouncer

Come a w a y little light come a w a y to the darkness,
In the shade of the ☽☾night☽☾ we will come looking for you.

There was a lot going on. Arachnid was free and in the arms of Professor Evernight. Zane could tell she seemed to love him. A mortal loving a vampire. It was really such an odd thing, although the fledgling had to wonder if something had happened between them when Arachnid was still Jack. It had to have. He was certain of it.

He watched as the students left. It seemed as though Zane and Tay would have to wait even longer. However, Zane couldn't even say he wanted them here. Those taken as prisoners had no choice, but the rest of them did. The kept in without knowing, and that was what led Zane down the path to losing his mortality.

He followed Dragon down to the Blood Room. That was such a dispicable name. Blood was only of any value to him if he was drinking it. The fledgling was surprised that there were more vampires. He wondered how Lilith, the woman who made his own master, managed to survive with The Family for so long. Zane wondered if this was all that was left of the vampires.

The fledgling was happy with the verdict given to The Family. They should all die. And face terrible deaths. What they did was terrible. Even though Voldemort, one of the greatest Dark Wizards of all time, what he did was almost kinder. At least he killed people quickly. Sure, some of them were tortured, but they weren't made to give their blood for purposes that they could only imagine. The Death Eaters at least took in vampires. Not that Zane would have wanted to work with that man. One force of darkness controlling his life would be enough, and he was glad that was over.

He looked over at Strike who was having a hard time dealing with what Lillith had decided to do. The fledgling felt bad for him. She wasn't allowed to be there for him, to help him through this whole process. Strike had done that for him. He couldn't imagine what his clan leader was going through at the moment. He walked over to where Dragon was holding him and placed his hand on Strike's shoulder, trying to comfort him. Zane had never been good at that.

The woman raged. Their carefully laid plans, laid to waste because of a single mudblood. Their tool, deciding to sacrifice itself instead of working for the greater good, and now... Now she had to take care of two nosy students, ones that had decided that they would investigate the happenings around the school and wouldn't leave well enough alone. It made her want to scream. She glared around, their new safehouse chosen after their last one had been compromised. All because of that piece of filth that decided to show compassion. She picked up a glass bauble, useless except to keep things down. She threw it, watching it crash across the room.

She watched the glass shatter, and calmly walked over, eyeing the remains on the floor. Such a fragile thing, just like the lives in her hands. Those two girls were secured in one of the bedrooms, their wands snapped and useless. She was not going to make that mistake again. After all, should they escape, they would be able to fight back and totally ruin their plans. Plans that seemed scattered to the winds at this point. Sighing, she picked up the largest piece, turning it this way and that, and then eyed the door. It was so simple, just to go in there and finish them off. However, that was not in the plans. They had their purpose, and they would learn it.

Walking toward the door, she smirked and rapped upon it, wondering at the girls trapped inside. She then opened up the door, her wand already out and observing them. "Well now, duckies, how are you this evening? Good? I swear, you two seem to be quite resilient creatures. Such hope, all lost, and yet you still cling on. Truly, a testament to your parents no doubt. I wonder, however. What should happen if I let them know about you, hmm? Would they come to your rescue?" The glint in her eyes was maddened, and she didn't seem perturbed by the state of them. After all, she had caused most of their injuries trying to get them to talk, but all they had done was cry for it to stop. Poor, lost little creatures. Must be heartbreaking for them to be trapped with no escape.

xxxxxTime seemed to no longer flow normally. Why would it be normal? Nothing else was. It had all started so normally though. The Machlachlan sisters had been doing what any journalists would have done, given the situation that was happening at Hogwarts when they were taking to who knew where by some man. The sisters had lost track of how long ago that had been. Their parents must be worried sick. With their father's high position at the Ministry, they couldn't help but wonder why nobody had come to their rescue yet. Then again, perhaps it hadn't been that long. The girls had been tortured. It was nearly impossible for them to keep track of time anymore.

xxxxxAll they had was each other and that woman. The woman who would torture them, bring them to death, only to spare them. The girls couldn't help but wonder why they were being denied death. All they had done was spy on a man drawing in the dirt. They were terrified of her, but they knew that she held their lives on a string. If she wanted, she could finish them off. As the sound of shattering glass leaked into the bedroom where the girls were being kept, their hearts skipped a beat. That sound wasn't a good one. They knew that much. Then came the knocking on the door. It had to be her. What torture did she have this time?

xxxxxThe sisters' fears were confirmed when the woman opened the door, wand out. She seemed like a cat, playing with mice. They were certain that's how she viewed them. Little mice. They didn't know how much more of this they could take. At some point, their bodies would have to give out, but then again, if the woman was really as persistent as she seemed, she probably would not let them die. At least not without getting them to talk. After all, right now, death seemed like a welcome end to the pain.

xxxxx"Wouldn't ya like 'em ta?" Akira spat, her Scottish accent thick. She was certain that the woman didn't know who their father was. If she did, perhaps she wouldn't be so eager to have them come rescue the girls. Akira was certain it would mean aurors. People such as this woman would likely not be a match for them.

xxxxx"Kira," James said softly as she looked at her sister in pain. Was she starting to give up? Was her hope to protect her younger sister all in vain? James was a Chimera, a Chimera who forgot to wear her ring that night, not that a bunch of young witches and wizards could do anything about this, but they could at least get help. She was supposed to be able to think a way to get things done, but to be honest, James had no idea what she was supposed to do here. There was nothing but the slight glimmer of hope that someone out there was looking for them.

The woman's smile turned sinister. They had no idea. Well, they were going to get educated in it, weren't they? She strode into the room, first starting off by placing runes on the walls of the room the girls resided in. She then observed the girls. She had to determine who she would put the anchor on, and it had to be someone of their bloodline, or it couldn't work. That was one thing that they had discovered when testing out their curse. She had laid it down for family only, and those who shared the blood of the anchor would be affected.

Her eyes landed on the spitfire, the one that had spat venom at her. She would do. After all, it was such a terrible thing, being responsible for the death of a relative, wasn't it. It had broken the little girl, after all. She thrust out her wand, narrowing her eyes at the oldest. "Petrificus Totalus!" When James was subdued, she reached down and grabbed Akira by the hair, yanking her up by it and shoving her against the wall. "Move, and I cut your sister's throat." With her knife, she deftly cut open the back of the girl's shirt, and then went about her gruesome task. When finished, there were numerous runes carved into the girl's back, and the woman took her wand and tapped each one, muttering. When finished, she stepped back, allowing the girl to fall. The runes were fading away, disappearing on the walls and Akira's back as if they had never been. She smirked. "Well, I hope you enjoy your sister's last days, spitfire. After all, she will fall under the same spell as the people at the castle. Such a shame, really. Your magic shall be what kills your sister. I hope you can live with the guilt." She left the room, locking it behind her. Her job was finished, and she felt as though only one thread was still left hanging. She really needed to track down that man with a scar.

xxxxxSomething was going to happen. The girls knew it. Akira knew it as soon as she opened her mouth. That woman was not the sort to take that kind of attitude lightly. She should have known by now, but the prospect of being rescued, hell, just the prospect of seeing her family again was enough for her to forget that. Akira was the less adventurous of the pair, but she wanted to see the outside world again. She wanted to see the clouds passing overhead and feel the grass beneath her feet. She wanted anything but the room in which she found herself now.

xxxxxThe same held true for the eldest Machlachlan. As she kept her eyes on their torturer, she started thinking of ways out. She was supposed to be good at strategy. That was why she was a Chimera, wasn't it? But if she was so good at strategy, why was she coming up with nothing? There seemed to be no escape. Well, at least no version of it that James could think of where both she and her sister would survive. They needed help. With nothing but their bodies, they were completely useless.

xxxxxAkira and James watched as the woman's smile turned into something completely sinister. They knew that smile. They had seen it before. Something terrible was coming. Some form of torture that, judging from the smile on her lips, was something that the girls had not yet endured. They figured it had something to do with the runes she had placed on the walls. The runes were likely the same as the ones the man had been drawing in the courtyard when they were abducted.

xxxxxThe girls sat and watched as the woman pulled out her wand, pointing it at James. Afraid, Akira shut her eyes, and when she opened them, her sister was lying on the ground, petrified. Tears started to form in the young girl's eyes. What had the woman done to her sister? She had heard words, but what were they? In her fear, they failed to register in her mind. To scared little Akira, the spell was just a bunch of words.

xxxxxBefore Akira could even react, the woman grabbed her by the hair. As she screamed, the woman shoved her up against the wall, leaving her back exposed. All Akira could see was the wall, and it wasn't much to look at. She thought about twisting around to see her sister. The thought of escaping the woman didn't even cross her mind. Why would it? Like that would ever happen. Especially with the threat of slitting her sister's throat. Akira wanted freedom, but not at the price of a life. Not unless it was their captor's life.

xxxxxShortly after the woman's warning, Akira felt something cold on her back. As her shirt was ripped open, she realized that it was a knife. The girl's heart skipped a beat as she froze with fear. What was to be the punishment for her remark? What was the woman going to use the knife for? She didn't want to know, but she soon found out as she felt the p***k of the blade in her back. The woman moved the knife, seeming to carve something on her skin. Akira screamed a myriad of things that almost nobody could decipher through her tears as she felt the blood dripping down her back.

xxxxxEventually, the woman stopped with the knife. Akira's throat felt hoarse, as though she would never be able to speak again. Perhaps that would be best. It was her voice that caused all of this. The woman tapped what Akira could only recognize as specific spots on her back. As she did so, the girl flinched each time, not hearing her muttering. When she was done, she let Akira fall to the ground where the girl remain, motionless.

xxxxxAs the woman left, Akira did not move. Her heart was too heavy. Her words, just a simple sentence, had caused the death of her sister. The weapon that would kill her, would be herself. If she ever got to go back to Scotland, to her family, how would she live with herself? James was only a year older than her. They knew everything about each other, and now, the oldest sister was dying, and the youngest could do absolutely nothing about it. Or could she? There was too much running through her head at the moment for her to think clearly enough to find the answer to that question.

When life leaves you HIGH&DRY

I'll be at your door tonight

If you need help, if you need help.

I'll shut down the city lights,

I'll lie, cheat, I'll beg and bribe

To make you well, to make you well.

xxxxxIf there was one thing that Zephyr never thought he would be grateful for, it would be having the family that he did. How serendipitous was it that the same muggles who adopted him, adopted the daughter of Halice Rosentha, and so Zephyr had gotten to know the woman quite well. In fact, when he went to her about the disappearance of his girlfriend and her sister, she seemed all too eager to help the boy.

xxxxxThey made an odd couple, but it worked. Halice seemed quite knowledge about different people who could have kidnapped the girls. She was even one of the first to suggest that it could be connected to the same people who had caused the sleeping incident at Hogwarts. The boy remembered reading letters from Aravis, Halice's daughter, urging him to be safe. The epidemic had stumped even her, a healer in charge of a whole floor at St. Mungo's.

xxxxxIt was getting toward the end of the summer, and Halice and Zephyr were running out of places to search. No matter where they looked, the girls seemed to never be there. An ordinary person would start to give up hope, but not Zephyr. Zephyr was in love, and love did not give up. He was going to find Akira, no matter how long it took him. If that meant not going back to Hogwarts, then that was what it meant. The boy would rather be a drop-out than give up on someone he loved.

xxxxxThis shack had been one of the last places in the country that the two had on their list. It had been used once before for evil, and so perhaps that evil returned. Zephyr remembered reading about that. Most of it was taken care of by the vampires though. He wondered what that must have been like, but not for long. He had to search for signs that someone was here. That was what Halice had asked him to do, and that was what he was doing. If he needed help, he would call for her. That was their deal.

The sound of heels clicking through the house were the only things audible in this sanctuary. Red eyes gleaming, the woman walked to a door, one she held two of the most insufferable brats imaginable inside. The oldest had fallen into a sleep so deep, that nothing could break her out of it. The other, the instrument for her sister's demise. She smirked, running her fingers down the wood of the door. Eight months, and no one had come, no one had been brave enough or smart enough to find out where they were. Sad, really. How was it that they had no one to care for them, even in their time of greatest peril?

She opened the door with a wave of her wand, tucking it away quickly before entering, a knife already in her other hand. She gave both girls a glance over, the smirk still fully in place. "Lost little birds, so sad today. Awaiting a rescue that isn't coming. How tragic." Her smirked deepened, the gleam in her eye devious. That just meant she could make sure to prove that no one should come after her.

OOC: Finishing a plot from last summer >_<;;;

xxxxxZephyr was waiting outside the shack, just as she wanted him to. Her plan was not as simple as the boy's. True love, such a noble cause. Halice had once experienced it herself with a man by the same name. He was a Gryffindor, like their daughter. Of course, had she never been born, they could have kept on living their fairy tale. That was not to say that the Slytherin did not love Halice or the grandson she had given her. No, it was more the family that wished her not to marry someone of supposedly unclean blood. True love had made her run away. True love had left her daughter's father dead. True love had made Aravis an orphan raised by Muggles.

xxxxxHalice had managed to sneak inside the shack. Dealing with these people was nothing to be left to children. Certainly that much was obvious. It had been such a long time since the Machlachlan girls had been taken. Not even the Ministry forces had managed to find them. However, the Ministry forces had to follow rules and laws. Halice Rosentha did not. She would do what she said she would do and she would be gone. There was no need for her here anymore.

xxxxxSneaking about the shack with her wand out in front of her, Halice was alert for any sound within it. Rumor had it they were here. Eventually, she came upon a dark haired woman standing in a doorway. From her words, the woman could only assume that Zephyr's girlfriend and her sister were here. "But the day is not yet over, is it?" she asked, her voice hissing. Her Zephyr would be so proud of her. Being brave instead of slithering away. If only he could see her now.
