Welcome to the Walsh Family Cottage!

In the town of Evesham, in a secluded area, lies the home of the Walsh family. The house is much larger on the inside than the outside, as it has had multiple spells and charms placed on it. You enter into the living room, and past that is the kitchen and the dining room. Upstairs are the rooms: Vio's, and Cora and Garrett's. There are also two bathrooms on that floor, one for the parents and one for the kids. There also a lot of random old rooms used for storage and an attic, which the children all seem to think is haunted. Outside is a garden, which is quite wild, just the way the family likes it.

Blood Ties

- Jess and Toby are the only biological children of Cora and Garrett. They are halfbloods.
- Uriel was adopted as an infant by them, and is a muggleborn.
- Eleazar and his now deceased sister Thea were abandoned by their mother at a young age and are half siblings, with two different fathers. Their blood is unknown, both could and can use magic.
- Vi is a pureblood, and the niece of Cora and Garrett. Her parents were killed in a freak accident, so she now lives with them.

Cora Mercy Walsh

Cora Walsh sometimes wondered why she had ever thought that six kids in the same house would be a good idea. Particularly when they were trying to kill each other, from what she was hearing, which was lots of screaming. She and Garrett had been out on a two minute walk. Two minutes What could possibly have happened in such a short span of time? A lot, apparently. She sighed, adopted her best "don't mess with Mum" look, and entered the cottage. "Hey! All of you, knock it off!" she called sternly, taking off her shoes and shooting her husband a weary look.

The phrase "working mother" is redundant.

On the sea, on the sea and land over land.
Creeping and crawling like the sea over sand.
Still I follow heartlines on your hand.

Garrett Lucan Walsh

Garrett shrugged. "I guess they git it from their mum," he pointed out, with a smirk, laughing at his wife's indignant expression. "Don't worry, I'll git 'em ter quiet down." he raised his voice above the din, not afraid of the neighbors hearing him yell. They were probably used to it by now. "Oi, you lot! Quiet down, you hear? Or else yer mum'll get mad, and I won't be responsible for what happens ter yer!" The noise ceased, an eerie silence falling over the cottage. Garrett walked into the living room with Cora, and beheld what had happened.

It is a wise father that knows his own child.

[feeling: Overwhelmed] [thinking: They won't listen!] [with: Family] [at: Home]

Uriel was the first to greet the parents, a scowl on his face. "Mum! Da! Jess and Toby are arguing AGAIN, and they broke a lamp. Thea is hyper 'cause Toby gave her candy and Vi is crying because she got water all over her. Eleazer tripped carrying a glass of water but I caught it just in time and now he's freaking out because Jess and Toby are fighting. And no one will listen to me!" He was obviously overwhelmed and took a deep breath, sucking in air after his rant. Garrett patted him on the back in a consolatory manner. "Ye did yer best, son." He surveyed the room, shaking his head. "But we may need ter redecorate." It looked like a tornado had passed through it.

It all comes down to you.

Jess was busy struggling with her brother on the floor, unsuccessfully attempting to twist his arm behind his back. "Take it back!" she shrieked. "Mum, he called me a four eyes again!" The bespectacled girl pushed her glasses further up on her nose self consciously.

This dream's alive, and it won't die!

Toby yelped in pain, and pushed his sister off of him, but not hard enough to actually hurt her. She was a lot smaller than him, and as a result, he usually treated her like a younger sister. Even if she was fifteen minutes older. "Get off me, shrimp! Mum, she started it!"

So... Can we set something on fire now?

Eleazar was on the couch, looking almost fearful. His knees were drawn up to his chest, and his arm wrapped around them. He swallowed hard upon seeing his mother's expression. "I didn't do it, I Lord Mayor! It was all Toby and Jess! All I did was trip and- and it was an accident, 'eaven and 'ell!" He still spoke with the accent of someone who had spent some time on the streets of London. It was doubted he would ever lose it, along with his perpetual nervousness. "Thanks a lot, you little tattle tale!" Jess exclaimed, glaring at him. "Yeah, stop ratting us out." Toby muttered

I had a good plan but it didn't go right.

I pick a slot machine and lose it all again
But when I walk away, someone else always wins
When she finally calls me, I forget my phone
And when I'm starving, you know the kitchen's closed

It doesn't matter what I try, it all ends the same

I get to the party a little too late

Vi was sitting in a corner, wiping away tears and looking at the water spot on her dress. "Auntie, I'm sorry, it got wet!" she cried, as if it was the end of the world. Which to her, it was. "Elea- Eleazar tripped, and his water got on me, and now I'm WET!"

There's nothing left here to say.

Thea was running in circles, laughing hysterically. "HI MUMMY! HI DADDY! I HAD LOTS OF CANDY AND I WAS SOOOOOO GOOD! TOBY GAVE IT TO ME! WHEEE!" She fell over, still laughing, as everyone else looked on in shock, except for Toby, who was struggling not to laugh.

Cora exhaled slowly, trying to remain calm. "Jess, stop attacking your brother! And don't be so dramatic, he teases you all the time. Who broke the lamp? Garrett, take Thea outside and let her run around. Toby, if you EVER give her that much candy again you'll be grounded until you're thirty. Eleazar, calm down, I'm not mad at you. Vi, stop crying." Luckily, everyone complied with her orders.

Exactly half an hour later Uriel was ready to go. His mum had promised to take him to Diagon Alley today to get his school things. If his siblings had ruined it for him they were SO going to pay. He'd been waiting to go since he'd gotten his letter. "Mum, can we go now?" the boy asked once again. Cora nodded slowly. "Yes. Eleazar, Vi, c'mon you two. Everyone else is under house arrest for today." Uriel's two younger siblings obediently came along, and the four departed, leaving Garrett to hold down the fort.

Uriel stood in the living room, watching the chaos that was his family getting ready to go out. His parents were hurrying his siblings along, trying their best to make sure he got to King's Cross on time. "Can we go yet?" he asked impatiently, tapping his foot. "Soon, dear, soon," Cora replied. "Jess, hurry up eating!" The girl was eating her breakfast very slowly, taking her time with each thoughtful bite of toast. "I'm thinking! Genius can't be rushed!" she replied, indignant. Toby, who was pulling on his sneakers, snickered. "Genius, that's a good one." "Oh, shut up, jerkface!" "That's not even a real word, genius!" "Oh, stop it, ye two," Garrett muttered, putting on his jacket. "Where's Thea?" The little girl came running down the stairs, full of energy as always. "We're going to King's Cross, to King's Cross!" she sang, dancing around. Uriel rolled his eyes at her theatrics and glanced at the clock anxiously. Eleazar tripped down the stairs, looking a bit sheepish. "I slept in, sorry. What's for breakfast?" "No time for that, you can eat when we come back home. We have to go." Cora informed him seriously. His face fell. "Aw..." Vi was waiting patiently by the door. "Are we leaving now, Auntie and Uncle?" she asked quietly. They nodded distractedly. "Alright, everyone, come on." Eventually they managed to get out the door, much to Uriel's relief.
