This is the Main Tent's Stage. Here is where participants in the Talent Show perform their acts.

A small brown mouse scurried onto the stage. It appeared to be looking for something. Perhaps a crumb or some other treat to munch on. Or maybe a friend. The mouse was still for a moment. Gazing out into the stands as a performer might before starting their act. Its ears perked at the sound of voices. Human voices. But whose? The mouse had been with the circus so long that she knew all of the voices. Those had to be the voices of guests.

Letting out what could only be described as a sigh, the mouse started off toward the stairs. As she went, her appearance changed until she was no longer a brown mouse, but a blonde woman. She looked around the tent once more. Soon, the talent show would start. Honestly, Elderia thought she had the most unique talent. She didn't know anybody else who was a metamorphmagus. Just her. Then again, that was something that she was born doing. Not like an animagus. They actually had to use spells and only for one creature. How boring!

The Ring Master tapped her well-kept nails on her staff. The tent was empty, but it wouldn't be for long. And if it was, well, the other members of the circus better hope that it fill up. Elderia had never been too keen on a poorly-attended show, and she wasn't going to lighten up on that any time soon. That was her one breaking point. The shows must have crowds. The circus must have crowds. Else, what was the point?

Keep the circus going inside you, keep it going, don't take anything too seriously, it'll all work out in the end.

The Croatian Wizard, with his scar-littered face and smirking eyes, leaned easily against one of the wooden frames supporting their newly-erected tent. Dark, void less eyes surveying what the work he had happily skipped out on had accomplished: their stage was set for their newest performance. One he was looking forward to quite anxiously, he mused with some vague self-surprise. He had managed great things with his dragons recently and found his pride for his work beating with an urge to show it off. To a gaping, over-appreciating audience if he could.
Drit smirked to himself at this thought, mind already reeling with pretentious, empty bellows he would cry to the crowds to gain their attention and heighten their excitement. Show business was an equation, when it all came down to it.
Just as he shifted his balance off of his tucked leg and onto the other about to twist around and head out on his right heel, a motion to his left caught his eye. With raised brow he concentrated on the area where he saw the movement and very quickly identified the source of it. Before his eyes the familiar blonde witch transformed form the form of a simple, brown mouse. Drit would have been impressed if he hadn't seen the sneaky trick a hundred times before. His previous self-indulgent smirk remained on his features as he approached his employer and old friend.
" 't woul't seem you 're as eager to get 'tis show started 'nd rolling as I am, eh Ringmas'er?" the dragon tamer chided, grinning at the woman. "Got a few 'ricks up your sleev' I hope, you 're always good at surprizes."

Elderia was just about to walk off the stage and out into the fairway when she took note of the presence of another person in the main tent. A wizard to be exact. If she was being even more specific, the man was the circus' dragon tamer. It was such a high risk activity. Dragon taming. There were trained magizoologists who wouldn't dare do what Drit did with his dragons. The danger of the act attracted many crowds. Of course, should the dragons do something unexpected, things could end horribly, but that was a risk that the Ring Master simply did not mind taking.

"Ah Drit, when have I not been excited for a show?" she asked, a smile spreading across her lips. She loved the circus. It was her life. She remembered being at Hogwarts and hating being stuck in the castle all the time. It was so boring! Those were some of the worst years of her life. At least she did manage to learn some things, but it was still boring. She would have preferred learning while at the circus. "And of course I've got some tricks. Got to keep them coming back don't I?" the woman laughed.

Keep the circus going inside you, keep it going, don't take anything too seriously, it'll all work out in the end.

Adalaide entered the Main Tent with wide, bright eyes, eager to see the show. She hadn't even considered the possibility of a Dragon Tamer until Michelle had brought it up, and now she was brimming with excitement over it. She couldn't imagine how amazing such a thing must be to see... The dragon more so than the tamer, of course, although anyone who had the guts to tame dragons was amazing in her book. But really, she was dying to see what sort of Dragon this so called tamer had tamed. She knew that wasn't the literal meaning of what the man did, but she couldn't think of a better way to phrase it. She turned to Michelle. "How long do you think we'll have to wait?"

And as you step back into line. A mob jumps to their feetஐ
Now dance, dance Man, he never had a chance

Michelle watched with a small smile as Ada bounced around eagerly. She was like a small child walking into a candy store. Which Michelle obviously knew what that looked like. She glanced around, wondering what breed the dragon would be and how big it would be. She couldn't deny it. Dragons were amazing and interesting creatures. She was more than excited to see a live one. She just didn't show it in the same way as Ada. She wasn't so hyper and moving or smiling really, but she was excited. She was sure Ada knew it too. She was pretty sure her best friend knew her better than anyone else.... ever. She shrugged apathetically at Ada's question. "Forever." She answered sarcastically, smirking at Ada. She couldn't help but be obnoxious. It was in her nature.

Although her answer was sarcastic and obnoxious, she was curious about the same thing. How long would she have to stand in the tent with Ada, before she got to see this so called dragon. She wanted to know all about it, not wait around doing nothing. Waiting could be interesting in some situations. Situations like a game of cat and mouse with interesting people, but waiting was interesting when she was standing in a hot tent. Dragons on the other hand were more than interesting, and so she would wait however long she needed to. Because come on...dragons? That was a once in a lifetime kind of experience. When else would she ever come in close contact with a dragon? Okay... knowing her... it was probably a tad bit more likely than the average person... but still. Why waste this opportunity just because it might happen again.

With a thousand lies, and a good disguiseஐ
Hit ‘em right between the eyesஐ
When you walk away, nothing more to sayஐ
See the lightning in your eyes. See ‘em running for their lives

Adalaide frowned at Michelle for a moment before realizing she was joking. Okay, so maybe the Hufflepuff's awareness was less than great right now, but it was only because she was so excited! She looked around the tent, her eyes wide. This was surreal. She'd never actually been to a circus before. Or anything even remotely like a circus. She'd been to a couple of festivals in the village as a child, but they'd never stayed long. This was an entirely new experience for her. She smiled. "Well, I hope not, but I mean, what else do we have to do?" Besides the masquerade ball, of course. She was really looking forward to that. Her dress was beautiful and made her feel like a princess... although perhaps a darker, more mysterious princess than the ones seen in traditional fairy tales. She couldn't help it, though. The guy she'd had in mind... not that he would be there, because what were the odds? But she couldn't help but think of him when she'd been shopping. It'd just... happened. She thought that, if he'd really had her on his mind like the letter had said, he would certainly appreciate the dress... she thought it was beautiful. And it even made her look pretty. She brushed that thought away, for down that path lay insecurity and she wasn't in the mood for it today. So she just smiled at Michelle. "They've got to have the events planned so that people can see all the major ones, right? So if we see this, it's not like we're risking missing anything else." At least, she didn't think so. Logically, they had to have planned for the main attractions to all have their own time slot so that nothing prevented people from getting the full experience. If the ball was really the star event, like it seemed to be, surely that meant nothing else would interfere with it?

Dragon Tamer

" Don't worry Ladees, I'll 'ee starting very zoon now," the dragon tamer smiled, patting the shoulders of the two young witches as he stepped behind them. He laughed lightly at their gasps and took his arms off of their shoulders as quickly as he had put them down. Raising them in mock surrender, he took a step back and winked a sly eye at them before turning on his heel and walking towards the center of the stage tent. He rolled up his dress shirt sleeves, revealing the gleaming bronze and silver prosthetic arms beneath, elaborate fire-like designs branded onto them.
"Ladees 'nd Gentlem'n, please draw your attension 'here!" he boomed, voice calling over the crowd that had formed inside the tent and even reaching outside,
"Zorry 'oo keep you all wai'ing, 'ut now we shall begin! I 'ill bee your first show 'ooday and I 'nd mai dragonz 'nd all of mai colleguez welcome you, welcome you to Circus Maisc!"
As the Croatian's voice exploded over and filled every inch of the tent and reached every ear, he threw his hands up and sparks and fire burst behind him. Dancing colors of red and gold and burned silver raced into the air. Flames of blue chasing after them and the laughter of some of the crowd playing with the pops and crackles of the heat. From a hidden compartment of his right arm his wand jumped out and he grasped it, waving it lavishly in the arm like a conductor's baton,

"I 'ope there 're some of you 'hoo 're a little brave, some 'hoo 'ave a taste for rizk 'nd that all of you 're as exzited 'nd ready as I 'nd Dostaviti!!"as he called the name, the top of the tent suddenly was set aflame. The tongues of it red and an eager orange in contrast to the playful blue that was still dancing in the audience. A few frightened gasps were heard but even more intrigued ones and from the burning canopy of the tent suddenly burst forth a snake-bodied dragon of black-silver scales a spear-like tail that was tied in regal blue thread.
The dragon flew around the tent, taking two laps of the whole size in under four seconds. It possessed no wings and was of a smaller breed that some had perhaps expected, yet it still filled a good portion of the tent. Its whiskered mouth opened and closed as it glide through the air, showing its oddly ruby-red teeth with eyes to match. With another wave of his wand, Drit commanded a spell in Croatian and the dragon flew up, swallowed the fire that had been slowly consuming the top of the tent, and descended over Drit's head, hovering over him.

"I do 'ope 'tis iz getting you all a bit exzited," The tamer chuckled, holding up his wandless arm and patting the beast's nose,""tis iz Dostaviti, she iz a lovely Zouth Am'erican Hourth, 'dey 're not a very b'ig breed 'nd she is one ov 'de largest I 'ave ever encountered. She iz one of 'de first dragons I 'ave tamed 'nd a great friend, I 'ope what she 'nd I 'ave to show you will be to your pleasure!" His final words had been shouted with the matched motion of raising his wand up once more, immediately repairing the ringed roof of the tent as well as sending it into opened. All around them the canvas of the tent began to fold into itself, creating an open hole that reached the sky through which the dragon immediately soared. It began to lopp and float around, offering the perfect image of swimming as it gracefully danced around its body, creating shapes.
Drit took a quick moment to loo t his audience (the one that had been already present and the one that was quickly rushing in at the sight of the moving tent and the dragon flying above it) a grin painting his features, taking in like drink the awed responses.

Michelle was about to agree with Ada when a man walked up to them. She immediately narrowed her eyes, going on the defensive. Her and new people really just didn't mix well. He said it would be starting soon... but how did he know? Her spine stiffened and her fingers clenched into fists as he patted their shoulders. Something was off about his hands... and he was laughing and winking at them now.... Michelle ground her teeth together, holding back a snarky comment or spell. She had no idea who he was... but she was pretty sure Ada would not be pleased with her if she randomly shot spells at every person that talked to them.

A moment later things were clicking into place as the man moved to the center of stage. His hands had felt strange because they were metal, and he had known the show would start soon because it was his show. Of course the type of people to work at a circus were going to be weird creepy people. Who else would choose to work at a circus? She relaxed her body and watched him with curious silver eyes. Her eyes only moved from him as the top of the tent was set aflame. She could hear other's in the crowd screaming or gasping in fright, but her? Oh no. She just watched the flames, a silent smirk crawling on her lips. Fire.... she could still remember the feeling of watching that man, she had never learned his name, screaming as he burned, as he died by her hand. Grey eyes tracked the dragon's movement across the tent easily. The man had truly tamed the dragon it seemed as it moved wherever he heeded and did what he asked.

As the dragon glided into the air and above the tent, stony eyes returned once again the the man who dictated it all. She had come here with the expectation of fire and dragons, but she had found so much more. A man with metal arms and a strange accent. She wondered what kind of man it took to tame dragons for a living, what kind of man would choose to do such things. Only someone interesting of course. All around her she could here the 'ooh's and 'aah's as the crowd reacted to the dragon. But not her. She was much more keen on taking the moment of distraction to observe and ponder on the stranger before her. Only a few did she deem worthy of her attention, but a strange dragon tamer with metal arms and a curious air about him.... what could be more interesting? Besides Tay of course.

With a thousand lies, and a good disguiseஐ

Cornelius stepped out into the main tent, his pale hair covered by a fedora. He walked over to stand by the ring-mistress, silent as always. Pale eyes looked around, seeing the few people in the stands, then he frowned. Perhaps more would appear? Or perhaps they would be preforming a seemingly private show. A frown was on his face and his arms crossed, not a pleasant mood. This was the sort of mood that normally had Cornelius searching for trouble, just so he could fight... then escape. After a few minutes of silent standing, the young man began to walk slowly around, almost eerily in the shadows of the tent.

Adalaide jumped at the accented voice behind her, her shoulders tensing at his hands on them. Her eyes went wide as he assured them that the show would start soon, and it clicked that he must be one of the performers. The unnatural feeling of his hands had raised gooseflesh on her arms, and when he rolled up his sleeves to reveal the metal arms beneath, she gasped, a smile forming as her excitement built. He was the dragon tamer! She grabbed Michelle's hand, utterly oblivious to her friend's intense gaze on the man. She pulled the Slytherin to a nearby seat and sat down, watching the dragon, her eyes wide, her expression amazed. True, it might not be a very large dragon when compared to others... but it was still a fully grown, rather large dragon! She bounced in her seat, in awe of the magnificent creature before her. "Isn't she amazing, Michelle?" The Hufflepuff had to give the guy credit; he knew how to make an entrance. Even if it wasn't techincally his own. Setting the top on fire had been a big hit. And probably intended to scare off those who couldn't handle it. But Ada's eyes watched the dragon and the dancing flames, their light reflected in her brown pools, almost making them look like shiny copper. This was going to be quite the show!

Dragon Tamer

Drit grinned smugly, teeth barred in enthusiastic pride, raising his arm with such force through the air, punching it as if it was thick. He raised his open palm of metal and fire like he was raising the deepest breath of the music, "Dostaviti," and he flung his wand up again, pulling at it as though it had invisiable reins connected to it attached to the dragon,
"DANCE!" And with a followed bold stab of his wand, he commanded another foreign spell. Unlike the other, this one sounded like a short verse in more ways odd than just in an uncommon tongue. Immediately the spell was recognized as invented, branded and refined like a silver by the man asking control of the beast above him, the lives of him and his audience potentially in its jaws. His wand then moved to his left and where it had just been a ribbon sprang, as dark as the dragon and with its end red tinged. The tamer began to intricately weave the ribbon in the air, pulling it through and keeping it suspended as though it was in water. His smile had vanished from his features and instead it was lines with stony concentration: non verbal elements of his spell taking his attention whole away from his enjoyment of attention.
Behind him the dragon suddenly broke from its wander. Its movements now following that of the ribbon and the tamer's wrist identically. Like a mirror, it pierced the air with its graceful dance and soared over top the crowds again. Its previous motions before the spell began now seemed like an idle bore.
Drit's motions became more and more complicated, knotting the dragon almost into its long, snake-like body but missing collision every time. It swooped and it spun almost like a firework, teeth-baring mouth opening from time to time to excite those below even further.
With a final step forward, like the climax to a duet, Drit spun a quick spiral with the ribbon and the following dragon before throwing his wand straight into the air, the dragon swooping beneath it and catching it at its end with a sudden blaze of fire, destroying the wand and the ribbon. With a final pirouette, it flew directly into the sky against the sun, disappearing in the blinding light and the Croatian's voice called,

"Dostaviti, delivered!!"and bowed as another staged flash of sparks erupted behind him, floating down in stars along with the remaining embers of his destroyed wand.
"I do 'ope you all enjoyed Dostaviti, she dance't with more vigor 'dan she has in awhile, she must like you," he grinned with little care and lightless shoulders that he had not jsut been controlling a dangerous beast and now set it free into the sky (or so the audience had seen)""But mai preformanz haz more 'dan just une dragon, 'nd more 'dan just dancing!" he declared, wrist and metal hand waving around in lavish bows and caresses once more,
"Mai next friend iz a beet shai, though, 'nd I will need a volunteer to 'elp me! Woould ani'une care to show some bravery?" His steely eyes roamed the crowd and his hands came up to his face in mock decision and thought, however his eyes did glance one fair-haired head with eyes that seemed familiar in what they reflected and he grinned knowingly,
"'Ow aboot you, misz?"
and at his word and gesture, a beam of light from the ground of the tent shone and illuminated the features of Michelle Catlin.

And as you step back into line. A mob jumps to their feetஐ
Now dance, dance Man, he never had a chance

Michelle snapped her eyes away from the man at the voice of her best friend. Grey eyes flickered briefly to Ada, and then glanced at the dragon. The stranger was now making the dragon dance with a simple piece of ribbon. It was so strange. That dragon could easily burn them all, kill them all, and bring herself freedom.... but she didn't. She just followed the instructions given to her by the tamer. You'd think a beast of such power would never follow anyone's orders..... unless she truly cared for the tamer. Michelle smirked slightly. A dragon.... she was relating herself to a bloody dragon. Only she could find a connection there! But she saw it so clearly. She nodded her head slowly, realizing Ada had infact asked her a question. Ada was right the dragon was amazing and beautiful. She was wild and free that much was obvious. The dragon chose to stay. [

"She is...." Michelle agreed quietly. At that moment the dragon fled through the opening in the tent. Presumably to never return, but the Slytherin knew better. If the dragon wanted to be free, she would have left long ago. It was all part of the show. To make the audience believe he, the stranger, had let the dragon go free, when in fact he had done nothing of the sort. Her eyes flickered away from the empty opening and back to the strange man. More dragons. More things loyal to him. She had been right. He was an interesting thing. Something about him had stolen all of her attention and she presumed the same thing had attracted the dragons he claimed to have tamed. So very interesting....

She felt his eyes flick over her a couple times as he contemplated the crowd, before they finally settled just on her. She narrowed her eyes at him a moment before he spoke. What did he want from her, she wondered. She stood quietly as the spotlight landed on her. She glanced at Ada with a classic smirk and tugged the edges of her shorts, srtaightening them out. All the while her grey eyes staid trained on the stranger... the tamer. She stepped forward and walked to him. Stony eyes watched him coldly, a simple smirk adorning her lips. She showed no nerves just a curious interest in the man and his dragons. "So what am I needed for?" She asked. Her voice was soft but not quiet. She flicked her eyes towards the crowd for a mere moment before returning them to this stranger's face. Her mind whirled as she tried to understand just what he wanted and why her. She was just a girl. A strange one.... possibly slightly insane (although she liked to call it just a simple inate curiosity that drove her every move)... but still just a girl. Just a girl curious to know more. Just a girl who relates to dragons and strange (and possibly dangerous) men. Just a pale haired and pale face girl. Just a girl that always knows to much and says to little. What could he possibly want with just a (not so) simple girl?

With a thousand lies, and a good disguiseஐ
Hit ‘em right between the eyesஐ
When you walk away, nothing more to sayஐ
See the lightning in your eyes. See ‘em running for their lives

Adalaide almost burst into laughter when the Dragon Tamer's eyes settled on Michelle as he searched for a volunteer. This was going to be good. She watched her best friend join him on the stage, a sort of arrogance in her stance. Ada knew that behind that indifference, her friend was curious. That behind her blithe, apathetic tone, the question she'd asked burned. The Slytherin was many things, but apathetic was not one of them. Ada had no doubt that Michelle was dying to know why he'd chosen her, and what he would do with her on that stage. Ada was curious to find out herself, and incredibly grateful that the man had chosen her friend rather than her. She was sure that their interaction at the entryway was what had prompted him to seek them out for this bit. It could have just as easily been her. But then, it couldn't have been, either. Michelle's reaction to the stranger spoke volumes, as did Adalaide's. The arrogant, cold stare of the snake would make for a much better show that the curious eyes of the badger. And Adalaide was glad for that; she'd be so nervous on that stage. Not because of the dragons; no, she found them too fascinating to fear them. But because of the eyes on her. The audience. Even if it wasn't her act to perform, the stage fright would still set in, and she would likely ruin it all. But then, the tamer knew that, didn't he?

Drit smiled kindly to the girl as she approached with no hesitance. He had recognized her as one of the two that had been pondering out loud when everything was to begin. Her hair made her easier to spot and that coupled with his recognition of her made her an easy candidate as he had scanned the mass in front of him. As she approached now and he held out his hand to take her's with ever air of gentile to counter that of his foreboding as he had conducted the creature, he became curious. "Velcome to mai stage," he murmured, quietly for just her to hear, then taking a breath and saying loudly for everyone else,
"Vat is your name?"
Perhaps what had really drawn him to her was her eyes: there was an intelligent light there. He saw it in every reflective surface and it had burned for years. He had been chastised for it; feared for it and it had made him great. He forged it in new fires and he commanded it.
He grinned and turned to address them, and her eyes.

"I will need you to clap,"He stated with a mischievous smirk, grinning. Turning then.
He took two steps back from her, taking her shoulders firmly into his artificial hands and pressing her posture to his desire. Making it clear he wanted her to stand there, he raised her arms out for her and told her that when she clapped it was to be loud at above her head. Stepping back even more with his valiant volunteer in the center of the stage, he raised both of his hands over his chest, flourishing his sleeves for effect. As the girl stood and he began to count down slowly, his hands began to stir the air,

"Von," He had begun grinning as white sparks grow in the space between his two hands. Like static reneger they grew and lashed out but he continued to control them as they expanded,"'Tvoo," The girls arms were already poised and ready over her head and Drit was pleased to see no shudder in those limbs. He had chosen well: this little trick was easily ruined by a nervous volunteer, their clap and his timing with it was everything. The sparks were already a large suspended ball, keeping his arms stretched out now, "Alright now, THREE!" He three out into the air above him the sparks as he yelled his final count and his volunteer's loud clap sounded and solidified the air. The moment the two different forces - static and sound - hit, they burst and a similar blinding flash of fires as before exploded. And from them burst a dragon, entering the tent and sweeping its underbelly very close to the still-outstretched fingertips of the young witch." DRHTATIV!" Drit called out, arm gesturing as though to direct the attention that was already completely on the dragon. It spread its black, leathery wings out and took up nearly all of the tent. This dragon was much larger than the first, but its scaled face seemed more sullen, more ancient and only vaguely less dangerous than that of the previous. Its red body and pales limbs and belly, leaner than the last and whizzing like a ribbon, blew up into the open space of the opening of the tent after circling around and again seemed to be commanded in a similar way as the other had been; following Drit's guiding hand. "Thank you very much, mai dear volunteer, you vere very brave! You have brought out Drhtativ, mai darling Pacific Crested, 'ee is an old one but a spry one, 'ee will be the one doing the ting I am sure most of you 're eager to see: I vill ride 'im!" He called out, grin taking up the majority of his scar-rinsed face and he guiding the dragon into another sweep above the heads of the audience, eliciting gasps and a few screams. He laughed lightly to himself, knowing that there would be some chastising awaiting him at the end of his show from his ringmaster for scaring the crowd a few too many times.
He continued to conduct the dragon up, reinforcing the fact that he was in full control of the beast again, and not quite bothering to notice if his volunteer had left the stage yet or not.
