xxx»» Pamela never knew her biological parents; her birth mother was only 16, and decided to give her up for adoption. A friend of a friend of a friend put her in touch with Allison and Cosette Gautreaux, a recently married couple looking to adopt. Cosette, a Frenchwoman working as a baker, was the breadwinner for the family, while Allison stayed home with their daughter. Not long after, Cosette saved enough money to open her own bakery. Pamela was raised in the kitchen, developing a strong sweet tooth and a love of cooking. But, she was also an adventurous child, and loved to play make-believe with her mothers. Her childhood was simple and happy. Around when she was 8, Pamela discovered that she had a special gift; it started with making flowers bloom, and escalated from there. Pam became convinced that both she and her friend Aster, who had discovered a similar talent, were in fact X-Men. When she received her Hogwarts letter in the mail, she wasn't sure if she should be disappointed, or excited. She settled on excited, thinking that, if nothing else, going to a magical school and learning to do magic sounded incredibly exciting.
SCHOOL YEARS
xxxFIRST YEAR»» Pam's first year at Hogwarts was mostly spent marveling at magic. She enjoyed all her lessons immensely, and found living in the castle to be an amazing adventure. By the end of the year, her naturally adventurous spirit had begun concocting a plan, one she would discuss with Aster the following Summer. At the end of the year, however, Hogsmeade Village was attacked by a group of masked figures, who murdered and tortured the students and residents. Luckily, she and Aster were able to get onto the train in time to escape unharmed, but both swore they would never tell their parents what had happened, fearing that they wouldn't be allowed to return to the school. xxxSECOND YEAR»» Most of second year was focused on planning for the adventure she and Aster had decided to embark on; the two girls simply couldn't resist the allure of the so-called Forbidden Forest. Originally it had been meant to be just the two of them, and then later she thought to invite a couple other friends. But, the walls have ears, and the girls found themselves in the forest with far too many people. They did at least manage to see a unicorn, and encountered a ghost named Miriam, who threatened to go to the school and inform the Headmaster of their whereabouts if they didn't return immediately. The woman's threat was moot, however, as their absence had already been noted. The group was found, and they each received detention for the remainder of the year, as well as having a good many house points docked. In addition, when she returned home, Pam was informed that she was grounded, could not have any sweets from the bakery for the duration of the Summer, and the usual trip to France to visit her Maman's family would be skipped. Still, she thinks it was worth it. Her only regret was that she didn't get to spend much time with Aster. xxxTHIRD YEAR»» Following her excursion into the forest, Pam had what was absolutely the worst Summer ever. Not getting to visit Maman's family was bad enough, but the worst part was not getting to see Aster hardly at all, which drove her insane. They had been inseparable since they were eight, after all. She was quite happy to return to school and once again see her best friend every day. The year was largely uneventful, the most notable thing being the Valentine's Dance, which wasn't particularly interesting. She had fun, obviously, but nothing particularly exciting happened. She and Aster spent most of the ball gossiping about their classmates and poking fun at some of the people's dancing or clothes. xxxFOURTH YEAR»» What was supposed to've been a normal sleepover with her best friend over the Summer Holiday was somewhat complicated by Pam's realization partway through the night that she was not only attracted to girls (something she'd already known), she was specifically attracted to Aster. Pam spent most of her remaining break trying to determine how to handle the situation, eventually settling on confessing her attraction and praying that Aster reciprocated. Thankfully, the Gryffindor girl felt the same way, and the two began dating, much to Pam's delight. The school year passed mostly uneventfully for the two girls, whose relationship didn't seem to change at all from how it had been before, aside from the sudden snogging. xxxFIFTH YEAR»» Fifth year was, supposedly, crunch time. Pam, whose future plans involved working in a bakery like her Maman, didn't really worry overmuch about her exam scores, but rather watched as her classmates all seemed to lose their minds studying. She tried to be supportive and helpful where she could, but being a bit of an airhead and not inclined to studying, she wasn't much help. The only truly notable thing to occur was when she was approached by Lorelei, a Slytherin in her year, to help with a scheme to get Lori's best friend Gia to hook up with Gia's other best friend Carver. Pam wasn't sure why Lori asked her for help, but she was more than willing to do it. For one, she was a horrible gossip, and nosy as all get out; she knew that Carver and Gia had a serious thing for each other, you'd have to be blind not to've noticed it. Two, it meant she got to spend time with Lori, which was fine by her, because it meant she could needle the girl regarding what was going on between her and Zeph, which was obviously of interest to Pam. What was gleaned from the Slytherin's blushing and non-answering of simple questions was more than enough for Pam to go on, and she confronted Zeph about confronting Lori, because to her mind, they both obviously had a thing for each other, too. Thus far, her efforts appear to've been in vain, but she's not one to throw in the towel so easily. xxxSIXTH YEAR»» Pam's sixth year was largely uneventful. She felt free as a bird after having dropped a good chunk of her courses, but of course a lot of her friends hadn't done so. She spent most of her free time in the kitchens, learning from the House-Elves, and finding random places around the grounds to paint or draw. Of course, this was all more or less broken up with her usual snooping around in Zeph's love life. At the feast at the start of the year, she and Aster had confronted Lori about choosing between him and Tristan, only to have the Slytherin girl up and leave to avoid the question (typical). Zeph followed, and after that Pam swore up and down on her great grandmother's grave that the pair were sneaking around behind everyone's backs. Eventually, the pair confessed that they'd been official (at least to each other) since the first night back, but had been hiding it from everyone just to see how long it took them to notice. Pam claims she knew all along, but Lori insists it doesn't count since she wasn't certain and had no proof. xxxSEVENTH YEAR»» With most of her classmates trapped in their lessons and studying, Pam was left to her own devices all year. Again, she spent most of it in the kitchens, learning old recipes from the House-Elves, who had some very interesting techniques on how to do things that she's still trying to work out how to replicate with a wand. Since she wasn't planning on getting any sort of Official Job with the ministry or anything like that, she wasn't overly worried about her grades, which was probably not the wisest decision, but she refuses to regret it.
ADULTHOOD
xxx»» Following graduation, Pam's first priority was to get a job and start saving money, which was surprisingly mature of her. Her mothers were shocked, particularly when Pam turned down an offer to be officially hired in her Maman's bakery. She said she wanted to go out into the world and prove herself, not sit at home and play at being an adult by working for her parents. Her mothers were stunned, but proud. Pam was hired on as an assistant/in-training pastry chef at a London coffeeshop, though she's fairly certain her superior, Dominique Hallwyd, knows very well that the 'in-training' portion is a formality. xxx»» Things at work went quite swimmingly, and eventually Pam had put together enough savings that she and Aster were able to move in together. She proposed to Aster on their move-in day, and the pair married in the Spring of 2040. Meanwhile at the bakery, she'd been long since her 'apprenticeship' and was given the title of pastry chef. Upon a sudden need for a slight staffing structure change, with Dominique no longer being available during the day, Pam was given the day shift permanently.

SERIOUS xxx»» Aster has always tended towards taking things both seriously and personally. If you don't know her well, it can be hard to joke around with her, both because of her resting b***h face and her swiftness to take offense. One of the easiest ways to immediately get on her bad side is to try to tell her to A, smile more, or B, lighten up, since she's not typically inclined to do either. However, she is much more lighthearted and open around family and friends, to the point where mere acquaintances probably wouldn't recognize her at a party.
DRIVEN xxx»» Aster has always had a great deal of ambition and a surprising work ethic, given her rather spoiled and coddled upbringing. While her parents did indulge her whims too much, they also taught her that she could do anything, if she put her mind to it and worked hard, and that lesson has served her well. She doesn't give up easily and tends to throw herself into her passions headfirst, determined to succeed or die trying. Or at least burn herself out. She's never been good at knowing when to throw the towel in.
PRIDEFUL xxx»» Aster is a very proud person whose feathers can be, at times, easily ruffled. She thinks highly of herself, but insists that it's not truly arrogance so long as she doesn't overestimate her abilities to the detriment of others. To be fair, she does walk the walk as well as talk the talk, but it certainly didn't earn her many friends growing up. Aster has never been one to back down from a challenge or let an insult go unanswered, and while she'll never have to worry about anyone else walking all over her, she can completely trample over more reserved or meek people.
SHORT-TEMPERED xxx»» Aster has always had a hair trigger temper, and while she can usually keep her cool in public for the sake of saving face, that doesn't mean she's not going to go home and punch some inanimate objects later. She had a habit of getting into fist-fights as a child, and then verbal spats as a teen, most of which she will freely admit she either started or overreacted in response to. Aster is the sort of person who just doesn't know when to keep her head down and hold her tongue.
COMPETITIVE xxx»» Aster is a naturally competitive person who often views the people around her as rivals, even friends. She can come across as very aggressive and somewhat abrasive in her interactions due to her desire to be the best at literally everything. Even something as simple as walking down the street will have her pushing herself to outpace everyone else. Part of it is a desire for recognition, part of it is spite, and the other part of it... well, that's just Aster.
OUTSPOKEN xxx»» Aster has never hesitated to say exactly what's on her mind, no matter the circumstances or occasion. In general her tough and often pushy exterior does hide a more compassionate interior, but Aster believes no one is exempt from criticism, even the people she cares about or likes. She quickly gets frustrated with people who won't say what they mean to her face, and has very little patience for gossip or passive aggressiveness, if only because she's the exact opposite of that.

CHILDHOOD xxx»» Aster was born and raised in Dorset by an older couple named Bartholomew and Cecelia Frey, who met each other in the waiting room of a local dentist. Love at first sight and pearly whites led to the two marrying just six months later, and Aster was born a year after that. As a spoiled only child, Aster was used to getting whatever she liked, and her bratty attitude didn't win her many friends in school. She also had a habit of getting into messes that seemed to... well, 'magically' resolve themselves. The Freys chalked it up to luck that Aster had never broken anything, with all the running and jumping around she did. Aster met her first and best friend, Pamela Gautreaux, just a couple of years before both girls learned they were witches. While the two had hoped they were X-Men instead, witches wasn't that bad, in comparison.
SCHOOL YEARS xxx»» Aster was sorted into Gryffindor and went onto to have an eventful seven years at Hogwarts. She and Pam narrowly avoided a wizarding terrorist attack at the end of their first year, and went onto to get into even more trouble after sneaking into the Forbidden Forest their second year. Aster tried out for the Gryffindor quidditch team and later went on to play beater for it. She and Pam began to date their fourth year, declaring themselves 'best friend girlfriends'. To her surprise, Aster made prefect her fifth year, and of course abused the privilege. When she graduated, while she admitted she was not up to pro quidditch player standards, she did have plans to become a referee.
ADULTHOOD xxx»» After landing her dream job Aster eventually moved out of the house and in with Pam. Her girlfriend proposed before she got the chance to, to her delighted ire. The two married a few months before Aster's twenty second birthday, with plans to eventually start a family of their own.

A while after her second birthday, he was called away to war, leaving his wife and daughter at home. Bridget did her best to take care of her daughter, but soon had to find a job, so Bethanie went to a local daycare every day. One day, on the way to pick up her daughter, Bridget was killed in a car crash with a drunk driver. The toddler was collected by some guys in fancy suits. They took her to the local police station, and while looking up her records, discovered her father had recently died in the war.
The fancy-suit men told her carefully that her parents had passed on to Heaven, and told her that she would be sent to live with her grandparents. Unfortunately, they quickly learned that they were poorly, and unable to care for a young child. Their next step was to send her to a special "home" called Wool's to live until a nice family could take her in. Once they arrived, she met the caretakers, Luke and Steffi, and was given a nice place to sleep. Now she spends her time there with the other children, doing her best to keep her spirits high.
When Bethie was just-turned 4, she met a lovely couple called Pam and Aster. It didn't take long before the girl was in love. It did, however, take what felt like forever for them to adopt her, but she was willing to wait if it meant they'd be her new family.
