Lyall was born to his parents in London, England, where they lived until he was three. At that time, the family moved to a nice cottage in Banbury. A few days after his seventh birthday, he accidentally turned his hair green, something his parents attributed to a defect in his shampoo. Of course, they didn't expect that it was due to their darling son being magical. He was homeschooled all the way until he turned eleven, when someone came to their door claiming Lyall to be a wizard. Ethel wasn't certain about sending her only child off to a school full of strangers, but seeing his excitement changed her mind... at least enough to allow him to go. Over that summer, he was taken to Diagon Alley, where he shopped for all his school things and learned the true beauty of magic.

The very first day of school, Lyall was able to make friends on the train ride. He met several awesome people, adding each to his ever-growing circle. He was super awkward in classes, given he'd never had to go anywhere for school. It didn't help that he seemed constantly lost! He got scolded by one of the paintings, both for being lost and for being muggleborn. Apparently that was akin to high-treason in her eyes! As he went through the years, Lyall grew closer to his friends, adapting to the magical school better than he thought possible.
In his fifth year, he was made Prefect for Hufflepuff. He watched all his friends start romantic relationships, something he was very happy for. His friends were all wonderful in pairs! In sixth year, he learned to apparate AND became a licensed Animagus. That was pretty awesome, he had to admit. Seventh year saw him chosen as Head Boy, something which made him feel incredibly proud. He graduated with good grades and high honors, something he couldn't be happier about.

Upon graduation, Lyall was preparing to move out and get a Healing job, but things got derailed when Rider was involved in a tragic car crash. His life got put on hold as he helped her through her depression. While she was still struggling, he got a job at St. Mungo's to help make ends meet, though he spent much of his time at the Wilson house. After saving for a while, he was able to begin renting a little townhouse. He invited Rider to move in, in a last ditch attempt to help her shake her depression.
Somehow, his plan had worked, and Rider joined him in work at the hospital. It seemed like nothing bad could ever happen, until one day he came home to find his beloved bunny dead. He cried for hours, but luckily Rider was there to help with his upset, and he was able to move on, though he decided not to get another pet. The duo lived in harmony, watching friends get married and have kids. One day, Rider invited him for a picnic... then asked him to marry her. As silly as it seemed, he found himself agreeing, and was suddenly very glad he'd made friends with her all those years ago.
Lyall continued at his job, working with kids and making them feel better. It was a wonderful feeling to help make someone smile. He worked hard to be as trusted a name in healthcare as he could.
