Personality: Hard headed and stubborn to the core. He rarely deviates from his set path. Christian lives in a very black and white world with few deviations, though he will bend for his family. In most cases he will aid anyone who seeks him out, though he does hold a prejudice against Kalona. (though he is trying to work around that)
Biography: When Christian was still in his basket his father walked out on his mother, taking with him one of the two foals he had sired. His mother was distraught; he had given her no reason to believe that he would ever leave, or even that he had stopped caring for her. Tabitha searched in vain for her mate night after night, day after day. He was simply no where to be found.
She did the best she could with Christian under the circumstances. Tabby provided for him, but she was distant. Listless, unresponsive, and often missing herself she left the colt to his own devices most days. That's when he met Jack. The little goat took him under his wing and became more like a parent to Christian than the two that had created him.
One day Tabby returned to her son brimming from ear to ear. Her stomach was swollen and by her side stood an imposing kalona. For whatever reason her mother had fallen for the stallion, and Nahthaniel cared enough for her to take Christian in as his own. He refused. Kalonas were evil! What reason did he have to trust him? It was his mother that chastised him when the stallion stood silent. She yelled at him, berating him for his selfishness while she coddled her new beau. Didn't he want to see his mother happy? Wasn't he excited to be a big brother?
As a young stallion himself Christian's emotions were fraying anyway, and the more his mother pushed Jack out of his life, saying what a horrid influence the goat was on him, the more he pushed her. It wasn't too much longer after that Tabby went into labor. Nathaniel stood by her side throughout the entire process, quietly coaxing her on as she screamed obscenities at the entire family. Within the wee hours of the morning two little fillies were born. One, however, did not survive.
She had been a weak little thing, barely breathing when she was born and still not too long after. No attempt at reviving her could bring the air back into the little foals lungs. The birth had simply been too long, too stressful, and it had killed the last born foal. Unfortunately, the blood loss took the life of the mother as well. Tabitha survived a few days after in a weakened state before she slipped away in her sleep.
Christian was furious. In his eyes Nathaniel was to blame. Had his mother not had to give birth to insane abominations then she wouldn't have died! Nate snapped at Christian's insults and after a heated battle of words drove the young stallion out of his lands, ultimately denying him time to mourn his mother.
For years Christian hated Nate, and the daughter he kept. Surely she was as foul as he. Jack nurtured his loving side, though, and brought out a happiness in him. It was during these years that he met Claudine. For years he spent loving nights by her side and one night a winged creature appeared to him.
She called herself Allegra. She was his half-sister, born to Tabby and Nate, and with tears in her eyes she said that her father had passed. Christian was at a loss. Why was something so evil crying like a broken mare? Perhaps because she was. He had avoided her all these years because of hate, but he soon learned that Nate had said nothing of the altercation to Allegra. He had spoken only of a strong older brother, one who stayed away because he was off doing a Knight's work. In her eyes he was a brave savior, but she had never been more than dirt in his.
Christian kept Allegra by his side. Through her he learned that no matter one's species, good and evil could flourish. His father had been a Uni, but he had abandoned his mate. Nate had been a full Kalona, and yet he had nurtured her til the very end. When it came time for Claudine to have their own foals, Allegra was right there to help and to this day he's oh so grateful that the mare is a part of his life.
