Though members of this herd are largely on the move, they do have a home-base of sorts at the Hot Springs.

The Kiksuyapi Herd share the Hot Spring valley with the Phoenix Maidens, who are good allies. The two herds trade with each other often.

The Kiksuyapi stay to the left of the hot spring valley, their territory extending downward and nearly touching the Phoenix Maiden border in the narrow valley opening.

. Kiksuyapi means Don't Forget/Remember in Lakota .

.Values.
. The Kiksuyapi break down their main values into 4 categories .

.Wacantognaka Generosity. - To contribute to the well-being of the herd, members within or outside the herd, and all life by sharing and giving. This does not have to be any physical object. One can also share or give emotions such as sympathy, compassion or kindness. It can also mean to be generous with personal time.
.The act of giving and not looking for anything in return can make you a better being and make you happy .

.Wotitakuye Kinship. (.tiyospaye extended family.) - This is the value of family. The Kiksuyapi believe relations are wealth and in the importance of trusting others. Through birth, life-mating, adoption or acceptance the herd becomes your tiyospaye, extended family. Members of the herd are expected to support and welcome each other as if they were immediate family.

.Woksape. Wisdom. - The knowledge shared from older generations is very important to the herd. It is something sought and gained over the course of a one's life, not by one's age.
Wisom means understanding the natural processes and knowing the design and purpose of life. It also means believing and living the spiritual values and believes upon which the herd was founded and being able to share these with others.
Wisdom means being able to incorporate the sacred way of life into one's own life and to respect and honor all life. It also means being open to dreams, day or night, where spiritual guidance might come to a child or adult seeking wisdom.

.Beliefs.
The 4 seasons play a large role in this herd. Each has its own celebrations and duties.

Spring < Earth's Awakening >
Herbalism/Renewal
It is during the spring months that the herd dedicates and celebrates the aspects of Herbalism and Renewal.
Herbalism - Herbs are used within the herd for mostly medicinal properties. These can be used to alleviate sickness, depression, stress and many other things. The herd seeks guidance from the neighboring ally herd for assistance and trade, who's knowledge of herbs and teas is far superior then that of the Kiksuyapi Herd.

Renewal - Spring is often a time for new life, when the Earth awakens from its Winter slumber and rejuvenates itself with an abundance of new life. Flowers, trees and other foliage brighten the land with their visit colors. Babies of all species are introduced to life and the Earth. Spring can be a busy time for the herd as pregnant mares give birth to lively foals, baskets open to see the world and lost or abandoned foals are brought into the herd.
While baskets and foals can appear any time of the year, Spring is often the most common time.

Summer
Knowledge/Star Gazing

Knowledge - As the weather becomes warmer, herd members are encouraged to seek out things that interest them. Grow the mind, learn new things. Traveling around is encouraged, usually in pairs or small groups, to those who are old enough. Knowledge can be brought back to the herd and shared.

Star Gazing - The days are long, the nights are warm and the as the sun sets the stars gleam brightly. Through the stars the Kiksuyapi tell tales, seek wisdom in the silence of the night, and perhaps even chart futures. The Kiksuyapi believe it is when the Earth is silent that we hear our selves the loudest.

Fall
Harvest/Thankfulness

Harvest - As the Earth prepares for the long dormant period ahead, so do the Kiksuyapi. There is alot of labor that goes into harvesting the crops and storing them for the winter. The herd knows, though, that anything is possible if they work together.

Thankfulness - It is when the leaves change from green to red and the bounty of the harvest is at its peek, that the Kiksuyapi celebrate and show their thanks to the Earth. They have so much to be thankful for and gather to remember all those times that happened through out the year.

Winter
Rest/Death

Death - As there is Life, there is Death. The Kiksuyapi accept this and in winter

Rest - The Kiksuyapi also take the Winter months to rest and try to avoid heavy labor or long journeys. They would much prefer to spend close to each other, keeping warm and enjoying the nearby hot springs. They use the Winter to relax the body and mind, so they are all the more prepared for the Earth's Awakening. Of course though, if help is needed they would not hesitate to do so.

[Herd Status, Leaders & Members]

Herd Leaders
wahmbulance --To Be Customed-- wahmbulance
4 sisters co-lead the herd together, each having their own strengths that aide in the growth of the herd

User Image
Name - Saoirse
Position - Temporary Herd Lead
- Saoirse knew the Four Sisters during her foal and early adulthood. They had welcomed her, helped her and taught her many things. She respected the traditions and ways of the Kiksuyapi. When Saoirse got word of the Four Sisters disapperance, she decided to head to the herd and hold temporary leadership until they returned or were discovered. -

Advisors
wahmbulance --To Be Customed-- wahmbulance
2 sisters who advice the main 4 in their decisions. Other ponies outside of this family can also become advisors

Wardens
While the Kiksuyapi are mostly a peaceful tribe, threats and dangers still lurk. Wardens watch over and keep the herd safe. They also help with sorting out conflicts within the herd.
They are usually strong, tactful and agile soquili.

Search & Rescue
These members often travel away from the herd for long periods of time, seeking out those the lost/forgotten/misguided soquili from across the lands. They offer these soquili a sanctuary, whether temporary or permanant, within the herd. They also offer their assistance to help find lost family members or friends.
They are usually good trackers, high in patience and persistant

Midwives
Each birth within the herd, born within or not, is celebrated. Midwives can help a mare throughout the entire pregnancy and will help with the birth if wanted.
They are usually calm, soft-spoken soquili with a good knowledge of herbs & meditation techniques.

Caregivers
Young or old, sometimes members need a helping hoof. Caregivers mostly help to watch over the baskets and young foals within the herd but can sometimes be seen taking care of injured or elderly members as well.
They are usually calm, resourceful, kind and helpful.

Teachers
Without knowledge, there would be nothing. The Kiksuyapi enjoy passing on the stories and teachings of their past. Teachers can also excel in teaching specific areas (healing, herbology, fighting, hunting etc) No soquili is too young or too old to learn.
They are usually resourceful, helpful, knowledgeable, & perhaps strict.
