The huge maw of the cave entrance is littered with stalactites and bioluminescent moss, highlighting the shallow depths. The water continues on into the mountain, lost in its dark belly. But the real treasure lies at the top of its throat; where the water spills up and tongues its way down and out is a pillar of glowing crystal. Jagged and filled with cracks, it always cuts any who touch. It is easy to sense it as chakra. It is unknown how deep the crystal digs its way into the stone.

_______________The Narrator Whispers... || Akuma's Narration tab After a brief journey through the aptly named Country of Mud, Akuma would be hard pressed to not notice a distant mountain. Even through the light rain and obscuring fog, something about it would catch his eye. Every now and then, a bright flicker of light would flash near the obscured peak. The nearby terrain was rocky with sparse vegetation. Mysterious furrows lay across the ground and all over the less rocky portions of the land. Moss, weeds, ferns, and other fast-growing vegetation was common but very trees could be seen, except near the rivers where anchor-rooted mangroves had established themselves.

xxxAkuma was, oddly enough, enjoying himself. At least he was enjoying the quiet he was currently experiencing. The world had seem to revert to a more natural state. There wasn't any traveling merchants to spot on the roads, nor bands of shinobi. In fact he had seen almost nothing since the havoc that had started at the temple. Which if he had to be fully honest with himself wasn't ALL the way the best. He wanted to find one of those damn fades to talk to or whatever they were called but no luck yet. Still, the quiet was nice.
He spotted something odd near one of the mountain peaks, terrain that set it apart from the others. With having no literal direction to go other than forward he chose to work his way up the mountain, still being careful of himself. This was a survival situation he was in so he hadn't been pushing his body to far. Any water or food he had with him would be rationed properly, the fact that there were lots of vegetation on the coming mountain meant he could even pick up a few snacks possibly.

_______________The Narrator Whispers... || Akuma's Narration As Akuma was making his way towards the mountain, he would notice vague silhouettes by the river. Two shapes seemed to quickly move away from him, disappearing into the fog, while another crumpled shadow appeared on the ground. The fog in the area prevented any detail be made until Akuma approached much closer to the scene. Now the area was wide open, it would certainly be possible to make a wide berth away from the river while maintaining course. Would curiosity get the better of Akuma?
[OOC]: Sure give me a roll from 1-100 for foraging for food. Depending on the outcome it'll take a certain amount of posts to collect. I'll say you can refill your water easily if you choose to do so.

xxx Signs of life, well at least they were giants. Akuma kept a mental note of the mountain he had been headed towards and veered off trail to where he had seen the figures in the fog. God damn weather was against him. Unsure of where they might have gone he did his best to head in their direction, though wouldn't shout for them. Instead he kept himself on high alert and was ready to pull his weapons if neccesary.

_______________The Narrator Whispers... || Akuma's Narration Akuma, using his general knowledge of foraging and plant life, would be easily able to notice that there were an abundance of various fungi growing. It seemed that the recent rains and strangeness of the land provided an ideal environment for them to pop up. Right off the bat, Akuma would have noticed at least six different species. Two of them he knew were safely edible and one of them, a milkcap mushroom, was toxic. The remaining three varieties, a red mushroom with a white stalk, an irregularly shaped light orange mushroom, and a white mushroom with a flattened white cap and red stains on its underside, would need further investigation to determine their toxicity.
Foraging: Collecting all known edible fungi Akuma comes across in this area would net three [3] days worth of rations. With Akuma's foraging and identification skills, this would take one post per day's worth of mushrooms. Akuma can also collect the poisonous and unknown mushrooms if he so desires.
Heading towards the direction of the river, Akuma would quickly notice the silhouette on the riverside was humanoid. Using his basic knowledge of field triage, Akuma would tell this poor soul was completely, 100%, without a doubt dead. The body was difficult to identify, though it did appear human and male at the very least. It was unclear how much time had passed since its passing but a series of mushrooms had already overtaken the corpse. The most heavily seeded areas were already the consistency of rotting wood. It was difficult to determine the time and cause of death beneath the influence of the fungi, though there was a large slash across its thigh by what may be a bladed weapon and a series of thin whip-like marks across its bare torso. A pair of well-worn reinforced boots [D-rank, Scale 5] had been placed neatly near its head.

xxx Seemed he had a bit of a bounty for food which was good, plus one or two surprises for those that he would need to deal with more discretely.

The fact that the body he came across seemed to already be in the process of being taken over by nature it didn't sit very well with him all things considered. Either the plants grew fast here or the guy had been here for quite some time, which judging by the figures he had seen vanished didn't really feel like the case. Something was off, very off. Akuma looked at the boots with skepticism in his eyes, wondering why they had been placed so neatly by the mans head. Still he could use a pair of shoes.

More questions than answers were all that kept him company right now and the fact he was covered in fog made him rather on edge. He better not have lost the way to the mountain.
Still searching for answers he'd continue past the body in the direction he thought he saw the figures go, though not planning on dedicating more than a few minutes in this blind goose chase.

_______________The Narrator Whispers... || Akuma's Narration Tailing the two figures for a few minutes, Akuma would actually find them standing ominously against the fog. As though they were waiting for him. One silhouette was much taller than the other, maybe even as much as three feet taller. As Akuma got closer it appeared to vanish in the mist. The other silhouette, standing about five feet tall, remained. A sharp, feminine voice pierced through the mist.

xxx Akuma stopped once the figures came into view and nearly breathed a sigh of relief. It was someone, or something maybe. A question was thrown his way and he thought over it carefully. Not wanting to waste this things time nor start a fight, right away at least, he spoke.
"I'm seeking information about the tailed beasts of legend. Do you know of them?"
It was kept clean, short, and to the point. Hopefully they were in the mood to talk.

"Who doesn't? Let me ask you a question. Have you seen any wyverns?" She replied to Akuma. Her body language was tense, in anticipation of his response. The mist seemed to be thickening, slowly reducing visibility at a steady rate. The distant mountains were no longer visible anymore.

xxx Akuma raised an eye brow to the response, stifling a chuckle. Well at least she had a bit of sass to her. That answer actually did help him however as it confirmed at the very least the tailed beasts were still relevant to this world, or at least still existed in some sense of the word. Then he was given a question that he had no answer for either.
"Wyverns? I have no clue what or where those things are lady. I'm just looking for information on nine tails, could care less what's out here. And unless you had more info to give me I don't think I'd have time to help take or track down whatever those things are"
The mist was getting pretty annoying for multiple reasons but mostly he just didn't trust it. ******** he didn't trust much of anything right now. It was good to be back in his environment again. ooc ;;

_______________The Narrator Whispers... || Akuma's Narration Akuma's facial expressions would have been missed in the thickening mist as the girl seemed reluctant to approach him as well. She was as wary as he was of her.
"The Nine-Tails? Boy, I don't know when you are from. No one from my time knows what happened to it after the supervolcano went off in the Land of Fire. That is our destination as well." The figure seemed tor relax a little bit. Akuma could make out a sheathing motion, though he had not noticed what kind of weapon had been drawn. An invitation was left unspoken for him with the mention of destination.
An unusually chilly breeze blew into Akuma's right ear. It almost sounded like an ominous whisper. Then as quickly as it came, it disappeared.

xxx The notion of a super volcano destroying the land of fire was a tad ironic, but it added another piece to the puzzle. He wasn't really sure how much he really did WANT to go to the land of fire if there was a damn volcano but if that was the last known location there wasn't much of a choice now was there.
"If that's where it was last seen then I guess that's where I get to head to next. When i'm from is probably not relevant anymore, all I can tell you is a lot of people like me seem to be waking up out of those damn crystals. If I were to hazard a guess, the world is about to change again in a big way. The few I met were nice but if this place is as anarchy as it looks having a big population spike of people with no direction could lead a few individuals to try to take the reigns.

Akuma was being blunt, as per usual. This girl seemed pretty dry and to the point with her answers which he appreciated, it always made conversations easier when no one was trying to ******** with each other. Giving out that much information on a guess might have seemed dangerous but he couldn't care at all what was happening with all of these awakenings, he had a goal besides trying to restart a civilization. Anarchy was just fine for him right now, it gave him time. ooc ;;

She did not share the same urgency Akuma had about heading to the Country of Fire. Her voice was getting further away from him as well. It would only be a few moments before she had left him. The thickening fog obscured their departure and while Akuma could assume based on the direction of her voice, there was no visual way to tell which direction she had gone afterwards.

xxx 'They aren't the only things hunting'Aluma thought to himself. He didn't have anything to add and let the woman leave in peace. He himself would choose a different direction then she did, weapons at the ready in case whatever the hell was innthe mist decided to try to take a stab at him.
The destination was the land of fire but as he had literally no idea where that was he would go back to wandering. Such a pain.
