Once surrounded by bridges that lead to the Temple, nearly all of them are now either flooded and crumbling, or have completely fallen down into the ravine below. Closer inspection reveals odd, old stains, deep gauges by possible beasts, impact craters, and black scorch marks. The Temple stands almost completly intact, save for the huge claw marks ripped across its wooden doors and over the narrow windows. Despite the power behind such inflictions, the door remains solid and sturdy - and completely unlocked, ready to be opened.

Filled with dust, damp, and crumbling wood, a spiral staircase winds its way up the sides. At every level is a large, open platform of a wooden floor. The lower levels show tools of many trades and work, while the uppermost floor holds dozens of sparse cots.

The Temple was once the main centerpoint of travel. Whether visiting relatives across the country, or off on a job in another Land, the Temple saw them go by along its branching bridges and under its looming shadow. Judging by the rubble leftover, however, it appears war has once passed through, leaving it a dangerous place to cross.

_______________The Narrator Whispers... ||

For what seemed like eternity, but at the same time no time at all, you floated in darkness. You can vaguely recall yourself, who you were, and what you were, as if a voice had guided you along that path to remembrance, but the voice itself faded away like it had never existed to begin with. All is at peace, at rest in the comforting embrace of the abyss, until a crack splits the air, resounding in the nothingness. With it came light and humidity as it slowly spider-webbed outward. Then it shattered altogether and you were released from your prison, where you fell to the damp earth, strength not immediately returning to your limbs. This weakness would only last a brief moment before you were filled with energy that could have kept you going for what felt like days, fulling rested and at your prime.

The first thing likely to register is that it is raining. A torrential rain falls from the sky, soaking you within seconds of your new life. But looking around, you find yourself facing a tower about five stories tall, and very traditional in appearance. Depending on your knowledge of religion, you might recognize it as a temple. Likewise, the ground about you shows many old signs of what must have been a battle, but no life stirs in the rain. Behind you, what looks to be a bridge leads off to elsewhere. The ground drops off not to far to either side of you, but the mist kicked up from the rain prevents you from seeing much else.

'What do we do?' A female voice spoke as she sighed. Nozomi was in a small room with her intermediate family. The Aquatic Septs. No one knew about them but this family. 'It seems we don't have a choice. We may have to kill the boy.' Nozomi, who was trained not to speak unless spoken to while the elders are talking, her hands clenched into fists. Her knuckles were becoming white as it seemed that all breath had left her and her heart had betrayed her by stopping for a moment. The voices continued but everything was shut down. The boy they were talking about was the very same boy she cared about when she shouldn't. When the meeting was finally over, Nozomi had ran. She kept running until the land had disappeared into the depths below and then ... she jumped. For a moment, the wind that was flowing around her body, she felt free. But she wasn't. The only time she felt free was... splash. The red haired female had made a dive into the deep waters as she felt relief. Freedom. Yet, her Aunt's voice was nagging in the back of her mind. 'Kill the boy. Kill the boy.' For hours, Nozomi swam in blissful peace. She had come to a conclusion. If she was to die, he wouldn't be killed but putting her bloodline at risk. What does it matter? It wasn't his fault that he wasn't born in the bloodline as she was. She was not going let him die simply because of the rules.

...

That was all she remembered...

----

Crack! An inhale of a breath as she groaned softly and landed onto the wet ground below her. The pale female stirred for a moment as she tried to fully understand what was going on. What happened? Where was she? She could feel the cool rain hitting onto her exposed skin and slowly starting to soak her clothes. Meekly, the female rose her hand and wiped away the raindrops on her face as she slowly turned to her side. She could hear the crackling and shifting of the crystals. What... what was going on? Finally able to open her eyelids, she glanced around her in confusion. What was this place? First thing was she noticed was a tower that had been through some kind of... battle? Those claw marks? What the... Was the Sero okay? ... Was she even in Kirigakure? Once she mustered enough energy, she pulled herself up slowly off of the ground. It was then she had noticed her backpack, which was on her back was inside a little broken crystal cup. Heastinly as if the crystal would suddenly grow a muzzle and bite her, she grabbed her backpack from it. She dug in for a bit and sure enough, it was hers. Her hand slid down to her side of her hip, where the whip rested. Okay. So she had everything.

But her friends.

She was alone.

Was Jack doing this? Some kind of test? Was Sero under attack? After she finally pried her golden hues away from the tower, she turned to behind her and it took everything she had not to squeak in surprise. Lo and behold, was a massive pink crystal... the same one she was in. Here's the kicker. What's in it wasn't human... it was a ... maybe six foot tall ... odd monkey creature. With sunglasses. Frowning, she was now concerned. By the look of the muscles and how weak she's feeling right now, it could take her down. With great speed, she gathered as many broken crystals as she could and stepped away from the massive crystal after she found one that was decent enough to use as stabbing.. hopefully. Deep down, she was praying it wouldn't come to that. Okay. Now she was at a ... safe distance, she decided to browse a bit. There's a bridge. Should she cross it? Or go inside the building? The more she ponder, the wetter she was becoming. While she enjoyed the water and rain, her being confused and bewildered to what was going on was; the rain for once was not easing her. Okay. Fine. What's over to the edge? Nozomi safely got closer to the edge. Even sticking a foot out first and tapping as hard as she could to get closer. 'Tap. Tap. TAPTAP. Tap. Tap. TAPTAP.' When close enough, the red haired female leered down to the depths... where all she could see was mist. Hmm. There must be some source of water down there. Maybe going inside the battle worn building would be a better idea. She could find someone that could give her answers...

There was this gnawing feeling.

Everyone she knew was dead.

Even the boy.

Lies. All lies. Had to be lies.

Nozomi hissed at the intrusive thoughts.

"Go Away."

After leaning over for a bit, Nozomi straightened her back and glanced around, especially at the odd crystal monkey. Weird. Whatever. She squatted back down when she had an idea and placed her hand onto the ground so that way, the bugs can come out and scout the area for her.

Nothing was happening. Confused and concerned, her hands immediately went to the base of her skull and... what? It was gone! Her eyes widen but she took few deep breaths to calm herself down. This must be some kind of test Jack was doing. He may not be dead after all! Yes. This was a test. To see how she does without her bugs? Okay. She can see the point of that but why... the odd monkey crystal thing? With a soft shrug, she made sure she had gathered everything and few chunks of the crystal went into her bag. Now. To check out the temple and see if there was anyone in there. Gently, she pushed opened the doors with all her might, they were so old and not used for so long. Her eyes scanned through the room. The.. claw marks were of a huge concern for her. Why was there claw marks? She was going to have to be careful. Maybe set up a genjutsu trap or something.

....

Her heart had skipped a beat. She couldn't remember any of her genjutsu! It took few deep breaths to calm the young red haired female down. Okay. Don't panic. It was just another test. Maybe Jack wanted to see how she does surviving? ... Why did she have to be by herself? Why couldn't she survive with someon- no. If this was a test, he had reasoning behind them. It was dusty. She made sure her mask was on right or she would be sneezing left and right. Damp. She can feel the moisture on the walls as she tenderly trace them with her fingertips. Her golden honey hues glanced up for a moment, before glancing around. Where should she go? Should she start from bottom to top or top to bottom? Maybe bottom to top would work better. That way, she might hear someone coming down from the stairs.

Here's the thing. Just how safe was this? It seemed to be wooden just by the looks of it. Slowly and gently, the female tapped each step to make her descendant inside the quiet tower that bears it's battle scars for those that can see....

Wherever this place was, it definitely looked like it hadn't been touched in a very long time. And yet it seemed to be standing up well against the elements, despite the dampness of the air. The stairs leading up the tower, however, did not fair quite as nicely. While they still looked climbable, many steps had broken, caved in either under some sort of weight or just gave out with time. Regardless, there wasn't too much to look at in this 'lobby' space. Anything that may have at one point been there had long since been ransacked or destroyed. About all that remained was a couple of empty, broken vases. Doorways led off to both the left and right, and each side bore three doors. All were closed, but not necessarily locked, except for one in the far left corner that looked like it had been kicked inward at some point.

Honey hue eyes nervously scanned the main room. She had noticed the broken vases on the floor as she made sure not to step on them, she doesn't even know if there was anyone here. Should she call out? Would it be safe to do so? The previous Aburame pondered for a bit as she tried comprehend to what was going on. Surely, if this was a test from Jack, he wouldn't place her in extreme danger.

What if it wasn't?

Her heart started to beat so loud she could hear her own pulse in her head. Realizing that she was close to panicking, she closed her eyelids and started to look around the room. Five things she can see. Her eyes jolted around the room as she mentally listed the five things: broken vases, claw marks on the wall, three doors, moss on the wall, and staircase. Four things she could touch... that would be the floor, wall, broken vases, and the pieces of the stair wood on the floor that would surely crumble under her grip. Her heart started to slow down as she released a breath she didn't know she was holding. Three things she could hear. Footsteps on the stairs, door opening and closing, and the vases shifting under her foot if she was to move them. Two things she could smell.. the moss on the wall, that was easy.. and maybe the wood on the ground? A part of damp wood kind of smell and lastly, one thing she could taste.

Her lips cracked a small smile as she realized something. What would she lick around here? The red haired female no longer can hear her heart in her ears. With a slight turn towards the door, it was still open. Hmmm. She needed an escape plan in case something was to happen. The bench. Perfect. Her hands touched the bench as she dragged it a little bit, it wasn't strong but it wasn't weak. How much time has passed? With a bit of an effort, she tilted the bench upside down and started to repeatedly kick the leg to break it off. Once it had broken off, she picked up the leg and started to jam it underneath the entrance door. First, she would be on her knees and her palm would push with all her body weight and little might she had to shove the leg underneath the door. Secondly, when she could do no more, she got up and started to use the side of her foot and kick it more. Her fingers rested on the edge of the door as she pulled and push, it barely moved. Perfect. So there's an escape plan. She always liked to have an out, especially in a room that had no windows yet.

Now. What's behind the three doors? The two doors seemed to be normal but one... it looked like it was kicked in. Would that be a door she dare to venture into? If there was people there, maybe she could talk to them or get out. Depending what they were doing. Obviously if they were eating human skin off of the remains that would be her cue to leave. Made sure to be careful with her footing, she inched her way closer to the door. Once she got there, she leaned forward and rested the side of her face onto the door and... listened. She can hear nothing but her own breathing. Her fingers went to the metallic doorknob and opened... it actually opened. She let it open slightly, not wanting to alert anything but then as she held her breath, she pushed the door open more and took three steps back, her knees slightly bent and ready to jump at a moment's notice.

_____Odoeb & Senju ||
Storm-heavy rains pelted the slate ground, washing away the slime and moss over the sides of the cliff. The sound of sharp cracks are muted in the downpour, but you hear them clear as electricity shooting straight past your ear, startling you from your deep sleep. The chimes of crystal breaking and falling on the sharp stone surround you as your prison shatters and air touches your skin and is sucked into your lungs. The torrential rain falls from the sky, soaking you within seconds of your new life. But looking around, you find yourself facing a tower about five stories tall, and very traditional in appearance. Depending on your knowledge of religion, you might recognize it as a temple. Likewise, the ground about you shows many old signs of what must have been a battle. To one side you may peer what looks to be a bridge leading off to elsewhere in the mist.

You awake not with clarity, but in a haze immitating the weather around you. This weakness would only last a brief moment before you were filled with energy that could have kept you going for what felt like days, feeling rested and at your prime.

_____Nozomi ||
The door swung open on well-used hinges, with barely a noise of rusty metal lightly scratching against rusty metal. Inside you see what may have been workbenches, and some scraps of metal. Depending on your knowledge of crafting, you might recognise the raw iron ore as being still usuable in smithing. The room itself smells of copper and must. A few of the tables and even some chairs are upended, laying dejectedly on the floor, yet barely any dust had settled in here. No more than what might be expected of a room gone undisturbed for a few days. Two narrow windows show what little light the rains allow to filter into the room. In one back corner stands a smelting furnace, complete with coals stacked next to it in a crate.

Akuma, The Beast
━━━━━━━━━
Darkness. For how long it was unclear to him but when it finally broke it was shattered with the torrent of water that spattered across his skin as Akumas eyes opened up to the new world around him. At first collapsing onto all fours from the sudden shock he let his vision focus and inhaled deeply the rich air, taking no issue with the water as of yet. When he felt energy return to his body Akuma stood up finally, taking in his surroundings. He had no idea where he was or what had happened but the weather itself was more than enough to push him forward. To stay in the rain for long periods of time could risk many things and he didn't need to deal with hypothermia well also trying to figure out just what the hell had happened. Swiftly he'd move to the temple doors that seemed ajar, white hair clinging against his forehead and red eyes taking in whatever details they could. He wouldn't enter the building at first, choosing instead to keep in front of the door to the side using the roof over the door as cover from the rain. Akuma needed a moment, a moment to think.

He couldn't remember what he had been doing before.....the black out. The last proper memory he had was of falling asleep in some dingy ally way, just a normal end to another day. When it finally clicked just HOW he had woken up he could summarize at least he had been a 'victim' of whatever had been sweeping across the globe. It seemed though victim was to strong a word, for here he still stood. Just what the ******** was happening though he had no idea, so he would draw out one of his blades just in preparation. He was used to living in wild unpredictable environments, and until he knew where or why he was here he'd keep his mind in that state. Carefully he'd begin to peer through the slightly open doorway, seeing if there were any hints of movements inside.

Eimdall Nygma
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The wind was knocked clean out of his lungs as he plummeted to the ground, landing on his stomach in a sprawled out position with a thud. The distinct shattering sound was quickly drowned out by the sounds of the raging storm around him. With his face in the mud, Eimdall trigger to make sense of the situation he was currently in. Last he remembered, he had been camped out on the floor, so how could he have fallen down? Slowly his mind began to clear up, allowing him to slowly open his eyes. On the ground around him he could sees very familiar colored crystal, broken into pieces, yet all his personal items were there as well, including his crossbow. So many questions flooded his mind but this was not the time to be worried about such things. He needed to gather his strength and stand.
Eimdall planted his hands flat on the ground and pushed himself upwards, grounding his feet in the process. He was feeling much better than a few minutes ago but still quite dazed. He looked around the best he could in this terrible storm, but the visibility was very low, behind him he could make out what looked to be a bridge, and before his was a massive building. The decision was quite easy to make. He would pick up all of his items and sling them over his shoulder, but he’d keep his crossbow in hand.
He made a slow jog for the tall building, barely able to keep his eyes open because of the heavy rain, instead he watched his feet. Before he knew it he was just a few feet away from the entrance before he saw someone with a sword drawn. Instantly Eimdall wold let go of his crossbow, letting the strap catch it. He was not prepared to fight anyone in this condition, and his years of traveling had taught him how to talk his way out of the worst situations. Hands held high, above his head, he sat in the rain looking the young man in his eyes.
Hey man, I know this sounds crazy but I have no idea how I got here. Would you mind providing me shelter in your temple here?
Eimdall didn’t move a muscle while awaiting a response, but he was more than ready to start sprinting for the bridge. He was confident in his speed.
Akuma, The Beast
━━━━━━━━━
With his muscles wound up like a spring the voice that cut through the rain caused Akuma to spin immediately to face the boy who was there, blade pointed steadily at his torso. He hadn't quite realized just HOW loud the rain was, made for a terrible time of trying to listen to anyone sneaking up on you. Getting inside was more than important now.
Akuma looked the boy over from top to bottom, noting his crossbow that was slung limply. The fact that he hadn't been shot in the spine meant that this guy was either out of a proper way to fire that thing or was, to his own story, in the same situation as he was. Even just reading the boys features he could tell the difference between a fighter and a talker so to speak. The only way he was a threat to Akuma was if he just wore a really good mask and liked to get close to his victims.
Slowly he would lower the point of his blade so that it was facing the ground again, keeping his piercing red eyes locked to the boys. They were about the same age so the story did make sense.
"It isn't mine. I just woke up to. Names Akuma, lets get inside before we both freeze to death out here"
His voice was low and surprisingly soft, in comparison to his body language at least. His black robes and pants were soaked enough to show just how much muscle he had for a boy of his age, far above the average. Not wasting anymore time he'd motion for the stranger to follow him, stilling keeping his ears listening in case he heard the unsheathing of a dagger, and would step inside the building, noting that something had been wedged to keep it open. One thing at least was if this stranger wasn't out to cut his throat in his sleep he'd have at least one person to watch his back in whatever the hell kind of scenario they were in.
Eimdall Nygma
~~~~~~~~~~~

Nygma” Eimdall said as he gave Akuma a nod of understanding. He had always gone by his last name, seldom giving out his first name to strangers. Before he turned his back, Eimdall would make sure Akuma saw him grab his crossbow and take a tactical stance, eyes looking down the sights. Now that he knew this place was foreign territory to both of them, fear began to creep down his spine like a cold sweat. Akuma seemed reliable enough in this situation, albeit a bit ferocious. The look in his eye was that of a killer and the way he handled his blade... the kid could be a surgeon with how steady his hands were.

Eimdall stealthily entered the the temple covering Akuma’s blind spots, looking high and low, even to the ground, taking notice of two important things. The first thing was that the stairs leading up had collapsed, leaving only the bottom floor to explore. He may not have been the type to take down a dozen enemies like Akuma, but Eimdall had a sharp eye due to the nature of his merchant lifestyle. Quickly he would turn to his new comrade and put a finger to his lips gesturing silence as not to alert whoever was here. He would then gesture to the second abnormality he spotted. To the ground just by the door there was a freshly shattered bench, covered in moisture and mud like someone had been stomping in the area very recently. From there, faint wet footprints could be seen leading off to the left side of the building. Giving Akuma time to assess the situation, Eimdall kept his head on a swivel, constantly checking their surroundings. He would remain by the door until he saw Akuma make his move.

“How the hell did I end up here” Eimdall thought to himself. Fear was quickly being replaced by curiosity as he silently continued to scan the room.

The door opened just fine with a very small noise. With a frown, she squatted down and then gasped lightly as it suddenly got darker than usual. The once drizzle became a torrent of heavy rains. Now she was concerned about the flooding. Crap. She can go back and close the door once she finished checking the rooms. Her attention went back to the door as she felt around for a bit. 'Rust... which means this place was either poorly taken care of or ... no one had been here that long?' Standing up straight, she carefully and slowly made her way around the room, having some difficulty due to the sudden darkness of the black clouds.

Meanwhile, half of her was tempt to run out and remove her human form so she can just... enjoy the rain. Yet she knew if she was to do that and someone saw her.. it could complicate things. Right. Okay. There was workbenches and some kind of odd metal she doesn't recognize. Careful to not hurt herself, the female started to pick them up and put them into her bag, the same thing she did for the sharp crystals on the one she emerged from. Can't hurt to have some sharp things just in case. This was odd. Her fingertips gently touched the floor and few of the work benches. No dust? Okay. So it was well upkeep but... why was there rust? Her lips formed into a slight frown, confused and trying to figure out to what was going on.

Then behold, a furnace. Perfect! She could start a fire! But first, she needed to check into the other rooms. With a soft sigh, Nozomi was getting worried. There was this odd monkey thing in a crystal outside earlier and what if it had broken free? Would it been an enemy or an ally? All that rain echoing into this empty building, it was hard to tell. Then coldness crept up against her spine. She shivered slightly. She better go ahead and check the other two rooms quickly so she can go back to the entrance and somehow remove the stopper so to avoid the temple getting flooded by the sudden downpour of the heavy rain. Turned on her heels, Nozomi gently closed the door behind her but only left a small gap to avoid the closing sounds of the door. The hallway was once completely dark again as she had to rest her hand onto the wall and was able to find the middle door. Once again, she did the same thing as she did earlier, resting her head against the door as she listened while her hand touched the cold steel of a knob and twisted it, peeking slightly before pushing it open again and jumping back by three feet with her knees slightly bent, ready to move at a moment's notice.

Akuma, The Beast
━━━━━━━━━
Once inside Akuma noted just what Eimdall had. Freshly destroyed bench, wet footprints, they weren't exactly alone. Unless this place had some wonky effects at least. They weren't so fresh as to literally read where they had gone but it was enough to raise some red flags. God Akuma hated these waiting games, that eerie silence of everyone attempting to cover themselves. He understood it, but he was in no mood for it today.

Instead of taking the stealth approach Akuma kept his weapon unsheathed and at his side, taking his left hand up to his mouth to form a half cup and taking a deep breath before shouting "IS ANYONE THERE, WE ARE COMING IN".

More of a word of warning, the least it might do is either wake up whatever the hell was lurking in here and then they'd have to face the rain again or show to whoever might be hiding that the intruders weren't exactly looking to sneak in. Akuma didn't walk forward though immediately, instead watching the doors in front of him with a steady gaze.

Eimdall Nygma
~~~~~~~~~~~
Eimdall’s eyes widened as Akuma yelled out. This man was brave indeed, but this might be the smarter choice, as opposed to walking deep into the temple and getting cornered. Lucky for him Akuma appears to be quite capable. That paired with Eimdall’s sharp eye could prove beneficial if this was what could be expected from this strange new land.
Since it didn’t look like they would be advancing quite yet. Eimdall took the knee and continued to scan the two halls, switching from left to right every few seconds. Eagerly anticipating a response of any kind.
_______________The Narrator Whispers... ||
_____ Everyone ||
Akuma's shout reached all but the outer edges of the ground floor, where the beating of the rain against the wooden building took control of all sound. But the religious may beleive a being of higher power, be it divine or unholy, had heard them as the light suddenly shifted and revealed the staircase to the higher floors to still be of climbable condition. Some steps were still of an untrustworthy angle, and others yet still broken, but they were spread amongst the many of a more... 'reputable' appearance.
Rain slammed the building, but the wood did not moan its displeasure. The smell of mold and the damp was strong, but the floors, the thick support beams, and outer walls showed no recognition of it. Only the thinner, unneccessary, deviders marking out the rooms and all the furniture within appeared to be infected by rot.
Across the open lobby, barren apart from decrepit tables and chairs, three individuals would spot each other...
_____ Nozomi ||
The door pushed open with a rasping cry, and you spot many crates and barrels just before a male voice booms out across the vast, empty space behind you.
