_______________The Madness of Blood and Shadows Whisper to Takira's Ears... ||
tab The darkness within the ball was mercurial, with the depths smoky and dank with something. With the sun blaring through its insides you can see something else, something...perhaps the remainder of something meant to guide. An arrow, pointing towards the horizon, further into the trees and towards something...else. The smokiness spreads out, losing its shape, yet still it would be difficult to explain away as a trick played on your eyes. As you stare you suddenly feel in your gut that you know what it is you look at: a core. The how, and why of this knowledge slips from your grasp as you question it but the knowledge remains. Knowledge of what it means, of the structure between mechas and cores, between charges and the all-important Control Rod lie within your mind. Strangest of all, there seems to be knowledge something...else. A design, one that comes from you, of just what it takes to create a control rod you desire most. It is limited, and you know this, but once you create it it will be permanent.

_______________The Madness of Blood and Shadows Whisper to Hanako's Ears... ||
tab Hanako's eyes scan the dimly lit room only to find that the scenery, birthed from centuries of moisture and plant growth, was all that she had at her disposal. Steel lay somewhere beneath the different plants, buried under growths that had pitted and scarred the unrelenting service below. Vines hang from the boughs above whilst serpents and critters moved and shifted within the darkness about.
tab And something else, something that looked like...a locker?
tab The steel wasn't quite obvious but it stood out in the sim light as rays from above and the natural phosphorescence lit its surface in a myriad of colors. It was large, perhaps large enough to be a utility locker for maintenance crews. If she opened it, perhaps Hanako would find what she looked for, or at least something to assist.
tab Such as a ladder, a long spool of black cable, and a long spade for digging.

Takira Gwyndolin Hekireki ll Strategist ll Doton :: Raiton ll Former Bandit Lord :: D-Rank Artillerist ll Jiton :: Ferromagnetic

Takira stared deeply into the swirling smoke like orb, light seemed to flow through it in a way she had never seen before. For a moment she saw an arrow pointing upwards before the smoke in the orb stilled. Lowering the orb into her lap she stared up into the tree canopy around her, it was pointing upwards but she coudn't tell an angle the arrow bent in. For all she knew it could have pointed at the sun or that world tree she made note of. Before she could make a move knowledge upon knowledge that shouldn't be inside her head began filling her mind to the brim. She dropped the orb as her hands made to hold her pounding head. As the orb settled on her legs the pounding began to mellow out, the knowledge rooting itself deep into her mind. Once the pain was faded away from her head she looked down at the orb, cupping her chin in confusion. 'So many terms. That dream and now this orb... Just who trying to pull at my strings? This is s**t I left for the mechanics to take care of, but on a whole other level. We didn't have technology THIS advanced.' She scowled at the thought of someone trying to control her moves before the glint of sunlight bouncing off metal drew her thoughts off the matter. She plucked the now known core from her lap and wobbled back up on her own two feet. "I'm sure I didn't miss anything from the landing..." She mumbled before hobbling over to the half burred metal jutting from the ground. As she got closer the metal let itself be known as a burred chest. Her chakra began extending outwards to expand her magnetic field as her hand lifted in front of her. The metal box lifted out of the ground, sand spilling off of it as she floated the box into the palm of her free hand. It was heavier than she expected. The chest wasn't locked, instead if bore a queer symbol where a lock would be. It was like an octopus, it matched the symbol that was engraved on the lockers she looted. Popping it open she found a single headset just laying inside the felt lined chest. The term Control Rod jolted through the foreground of her thoughts instantly cluing her into what she had stumbled upon... in mint condition no less.

Her scowl deepened as she grabbed the headset, using her field to toss the metal chest into the water ahead of her. Taking the headset in both hands she looked at it closely, her crimson eyes burning in ever detail as her mood worsened. She knew what this was, it was her own headphones she had custom made by her nerds. How and whys started to just add up and up. For instance why they were locked into a possible enemies chest, in a country not her own, and un touched by age? Taking a deep breath she let her nerves sizzle away, deciding the gift horse could have its mouth inspected some other time. Hobbling back to her momentary base of operations she began tinkering with the wires and communication functions she had ordered, using her knew found mechanical knowledge to boost its capabilities. With a gentle prying with the tip of her katana she popped off the left sides protective shell, using her sand to shave away at the metal. Gingerly she inserted the core halfway in while she wired the headset into the odd construct. Finishing up the wiring she began to put the headphones back together, carefully locking the iron casing back into place using her field. Wiping her brow she lifted the headphones up in front of her making a final inspection. As she put her katana back into its sheath her free hand slipped the headphones around her neck, letting it rest against her collar. "Now to find some kinda robot to mess around with." She mumbled, looking back at her wounded leg before letting out a long sigh, "What a pain in the a**." The iron sand that had been squeezing the veins in her legs so tightly dropped to the ground as she began untying her cloak from the wound.

Luckily no blood began to gush from her wound again, meaning that her body was begin somewhat useful in the healing process. However while it was lucky it was also strange. There was no way in her mind a wound that big without stitching would be as closed as it already was. Whats more it should be ravaged with infected tissue, but what little infect existed seemed to be going away. For some unknown reason she was healing faster than normal. "Just what is going on here... Ain't no way it should be this far along..." She mumbled as she stood up, babying her leg as she walked over to the shore. Gingerly dipping her warm leg into the water she began using the crystal clear water to wash out the oils from her metal off her skin. With the wound as clean as she started to rinse off the dried blood that caked her red cloak. It looked like she was dropping a packet of dye into the water as she wrung the bloodied water out of the fabric. "I should get moving... but where?" She questioned herself. With her being free from that tomb of a botanical garden she really had no idea what she should do from there. She survived, but she was no where near lightning and the wilderness she was familiar with. There was the big tree but with a landmark that big there was going to be more people if they existed. She wasn't about to wander into uncharted territory with potential hostiles while tired and wounded. With a shrug she began re-wrapping her leg back up. Slowly she hobbled back to her pilfered gear, lifting the bag over her shoulder before staring into the forest in front of her. "Not the world tree but maybe ill find some shelter nearby." She said to herself as she drew her katana and began her slow walk into the sprawling forest.

Quote " You said you would become a martyr for your ideals. In life, you must have been a pure saint. A proud and noble figure, certainly. But who can truly admire the martyr’s thorny path? Who dreams of such an ending? A king… The king must be greedier than any other. He must laugh louder and rage harder. He must exemplify the extreme of all things, good and evil. That is why his retainers envy and adore him. And why the flames of aspiration, to be as the king is, can burn within his people. Proud king of chivalry… The righteousness and ideals you bore may indeed have saved your nation once. However, I’m certain you know what became of those who were saved, but left to themselves.” :: Iskandar

_______________The Madness of Blood and Shadows Whisper to Takira's Ears... ||
tab You leave the wind and water and open air behind you as you step into the dark interior, the silence that follows almost oppressive in its completeness. Yet as you travel you get the feeling that something is tailing you. It's a sensation you're used to, from your days as a bandit when you entered enemy territory. Paranoia can be healthy if in moderation, but given your surroundings...is it warranted? You know nothing of the world you travel in, but something is clearly different. AS you step over branches, leap or hover between motes of earth in the thick swamp you now find yourself, you leave behind, unknowingly, a still living member of the original party. Betrayal, though of an unknown nature, is betrayal nonetheless. Perhaps it is this weight that now tells you something follows, and perhaps, too, it's what tells you that ahead lies something else. Something potentially good, with some potential bad, but altogether something new that leaves the world behind, for the moment, in favor of the grey that lays beyond.
tab Forward you march to the sound of the drums within your heart. Drums that beat the steady, implacable rhythm of war. A war as old as time itself, between man and beast, between man and nature, and between man and themselves. It eggs you on, even as you feel the earth begin a steady incline that matches your footsteps perfectly.
tab Forward, you march towards your destiny.
tab [Exit to the Heart of the Country]

                                                      Limited sight…. Plants….vines…. Old steel….Steel?

Hanako edged closer to the steel, barely seen amongst the foliage was a handle that looked to be intact. She gently opened the door to reveal a storage locker of some sort. Her eyes lit up. Surely this would yield SOMETHING useful…

She began to set things in motion, gathering all her finds and her bag, heading to where the ‘hole’ in the dome was. She was going to figure something out… She was going to find her family. Crystal blue eyes were ablaze as she set forth towards her goal.

Takeda marked the last of the trees necessary for him to make his way back, finishing the creation of an arrow which would lead to another, and another all the way to the "safe zone." He hadn't encountered anything along the way, just the usual sounds of the water country. It was disappointing in a way, though it wasn't difficult to be bored after living for hundreds of years. Putting his knife away, he looked forwards towards the wet land ahead of him. A swamp with a strange, metallic statue that was roughly fifteen feet in height, perhaps more stretched out before him. He huffed, never content with water that he couldn't see to the bottom of. If it was murky, there could possibly be something lurking beneath the surface, waiting to strike whoever was curious enough to investigate the big metal thing. He drew his longsword from its spot as his hip, holding it with his right hand, not bothering to grab his shield yet. "I hate places like these." He mumbled, knowing that he was going to get his shoes and pants dirty. There was also a certain, gross "muck" to swamps that made him usually avoid them. His feet sank into the dirty water when he stepped into it, and his body visibly shuddered in response. "Is saving other humans really worth this?" The boy questioned, continuing to wade through the area. He noticed the sections of "floating earth" that Iron Oak mentioned, but decided it wasn't best to investigate all of that until he had a better understanding of the area.

Noticing an entrance at the metal structure, he walked through, getting an odd feeling...like the ground wasn't quite "full." It creaked a bit under the weight of his semi-steel body, making him recall what Iron Oak said about swimming down. There must've been something notable underneath it all. In that moment, he looked for where he was supposed to enter...whatever the other humans were in.

_______________Echoes of a Long Forgotten Past... ||
tab As Hanako made her way towards the hole above she might well catch sight of a silhouette above that hadn't been there before. A shadow cast upon the golden barrier above that looked vaguely human in shape and size, but the water distorted the edges making the truth rather difficult to perceive. Around her the bio luminescence of the plants begins to fade as the light from above filters in, blinding them enough and tricking them into feeling it was no longer needed. Devoid of light for so long they knew not what to truly do, and as such many pulled into themselves, and somewhere, the sound of living things moved fleeing from the light could be heard. This left her alone, with only the strange, junglish plants above to assist her in her ascent.
tab
tab Takeda above would feel the moisture in the air fresh upon his skin in a familiar sense that was difficult to shake. The scent of salt, of the ocean, was clear here but also not, as if it lay near yet masked by something else. The scent of rotting things, of life ending and growing upon the remains, assaulted his senses as little else could. With each breath that reek continued, but below him the earth gathered his attention. Metal, yes, but beneath a rich, spongy loam that likewise felt familiar from the days of the islands that lay around Kirigakure. Perhaps the chill in the air would remind him of the winters that graced his old home, along with the rain that clearly fell in the distance upon what appeared to be a forest. Where in Kirigakure had there been a forest? Perhaps he'd remember if there was such a place.
tab Movement below might well catch his attention from the water as the shadows shifted, as if something below with a form of faint light was casting about, observing him.

Ryslatho was more than glad to have gotten two additional people, both girls who were younger than he, to come scout out this water source. Especially with the story from the twins about a disappearing man. And the twins themselves were suspicious too! First, they were twins and as such outnumbered Ryslatho. Then was the fact that they said they saw someone vanish beneath the lake, but what if they had killed him? And perhaps it was nerves or perhaps the times really had changed since he had awoken but he felt as though he could not read them whatsoever.

As they ventured through the woods, Ryslatho made sure to search the area for any kikaichu or their derivatives he could utilize. He was slowly coming up with a plan, perhaps to simply take some meat and set it as bait and follow the swarms of insects. The lake itself was not too far away, perhaps a twenty-minute jaunt from the cave he had awoken in. That meant if it was safe, it was a great boon. If it was dangerous then, well if they could secure it or understand the danger it could be addressed later.

Being one of the seemingly older members of this party of five, Ryslatho felt compelled to take on a leadership role of sorts. He did feel a little bit of protectiveness over the younger kids, but honestly he knew if it came down to it there was not much he could do with the way he currently was. Approaching the end of the wooded area and coming to the lake, he noticed an unmoving silhouette.

"Hey, do you see someone there?" He whispered to the twins while holding out a hand to signal a slow down to those behind. Water sources were often the most active sites for wild creatures to congregate. Drinking water exposed vulnerability to most beings and with that in mind he was scanning around the lake practically jumping at shadows. He was wary of what could perhaps be a statue but could just as easily be a watchman.

"Alright, come on up, I've got you." Takeda spoke, taking the white haired girl by the hand and raising her back to the surface with him. Both of them were drenched to the bone, and he roughly shook his head from side to side in response to the water dripping down from his soaked hair. His hands made their way to his scarf and coat that he left behind, planning to change clothes into something a bit less full of water. A polite yet intrusive cough interrupted him, and he turned around to look at her. "I'm sorry, but if you're going to undress, can you do it outside? Please?" He would've adhered, but a quick once-over of the girl he saved made him aware that a soaked, white, thin kimono made her appear more...revealing than she likely intended.

Takeda averted his eyes and tossed his dry article of clothing towards her, walking out of the metallic structure. "You need to change into this." Was all he said before exiting. Unfortunately, it seemed he couldn't escape the water. The swamp already came up farther than he'd like, but strong signs of a storm started settling in. It was drizzling, and a thick fog had rolled in since he descended to assist the white-haired girl. The humidity was even worse of a pain than before, but he found some comfort in the way that the rain's scent slightly suppressed that of the swamp. He'd take getting a little wet over smelling rotten corpses any day.

Takeda ran his hand through his dark hair, pulling it back as much as he could so that his ruby hues could see unobstructed. The fog acted as an entirely different obstruction, but there wasn't anything he could do about that. "Are you ready to head out? I can take you somewhere a lot safer than there." He called back to his new travel companion, turning his head to see her. Her frame was covered in a black coat that was thankfully a larger size than what she normally wore, allowing her to wear it nearly like a blanket and conceal her soaked form. "Yes, I'm ready. Thank you/" She kept her response short and refused to look him in his eyes. The red on her face was enough to know that she was probably still embarrassed from the sight he accidentally received. Nodding his response, he set his gaze back on the path ahead and slung his scarf over his shoulder, knowing that there was no point in tying it up with the storm rolling in soon.

If nobody decided to obstruct him, he'd make his way back to the path that he marked on the way to the swamp. His tent was something he desired more and more by the moment.

The party shot each other some glances when they noticed some figures, too obscured by fog to make out any details, arise out of the waters. Ryslatho had many questions on his mind but this was a sensitive time to ask it. Who were the people in the water? Was it the ones the twins saw or someone different? Whatever the case was, he had two new sources of information that were important. There was a source of fresh water nearby, seemingly clean enough to bathe in, and there were other people about. Who were they, what were their goals, were they a threat?

The one ability he remembered was good for escapes. He didn't know if the others were capable of it so he gave a dismissive nod to them, pointing to the water then back towards the cave they had originally come from, and then hurried to trail the couple before the fog made it too difficult. He was a non-confrontational person by nature and so would simply follow behind Takeda and Hanako to see where they were going. He'd try to be careful and the fog was both a blessing and a curse here. Any sighting of kikaichu insects would be enough to derail and distract him but for the time being he had to calm the anxiety in his heart that maybe the two had already noticed him and had set up an ambush while using clones as a distraction.
