The end of Shangyue's reign is finally coming. The rebels have gathered enough support to have confidence making their dissatisfaction known. The time to strike is still some ways away.. but the fun begins now!

Monarchy
Shangyue (Ecavi) - King of the Mwezi'Johari, Shangyue took the throne by assassinating those between him and becoming king (his grandparents and parents). For the first few months of his rule, Shangyue was naturally nervous of retaliation but slowly grew comfortable in his position and the stability of the pride. He was only ever seen at night and appeared to have complete confidence in himself. Subdued by his sons Liuhe & Yueyun, killed by Kimondo.
Parisa (Ecavi) - Former Queen of the Mwezi'Johari and Firaga's only High Class daughter, she was the only match that Shangyue was able to trust. Though known for being well-meaning and nervous in her youth, the smile she always wore as Queen seemed to be hiding something sinister. She switched sides near the end and helped to facilitate the death of the King.
Liuhe (Ecavi) - Shangyue's eldest son and heir, he was a carefree prince who rarely gave a thought to the pride or the lions in it. He was always happy to take advantage of his position so he could spend his time looking for fun instead of working like everybody else, but the seriousness of the rebellion was not lost on him. He helped the rebels achieve their goal and abdicated the throne, asking the shaman to clear the slate and pick whoever she thought best to serve as the next monarch.
Yueyun (Excited Apathy) - Shangyue's third child by Parisa, he was the first of the royal family to acknowledge that maybe his father ought not to be king. He eventually convinced Liuhe that doing nothing was as bad as fighting for the king, and they worked together to help the rebels achieve their goal.
Loyalists
Firaga (F a y t h - x) - Head of the Royal Guard and second most powerful lion in the pride while Shangyue ruled despite being in the low class. Firaga played a major supporting role in Shangyue's takeover and had a sinister reputation that put him above even the Shaman for authority by those who wished to stay on his good side. Since Shangyue's fall, he has been kept under close watch.
Antara (nessiaing) - A loyalist by force and a rebel at heart, this High Class apprentice to the shaman is one of Shangyue's illegitimate children by Kamia- the one he believes would be his heir. She is a diligent apprentice that would secretly prefer a simple, quiet life. She rejoined the rebels during the Civil War, escaping the King's control and finally reuniting with her twin sister.
Tyfu (mouselet) - An Upper-middle Class Guard who was recruited by Shangyue shortly before his takeover began. She is one of the most vocal supporters of the King and enjoys intervening when his critics get a little too loud. Not only is she unafraid of starting a fight, she never loses. Killed by the traitorous Royal Guard Orion during an assassination mission assigned by the king.
Chunyue (Puhterodactyl) & Dwyllodrus (mousetlet) - Upper-middle Class sons of Tyfu who were responsible for the first major blow against the Rebels, striking down the vocal leader of the youth rebellion and their suspected half-brother, Umepatwa. Those suspicions were later confirmed, though not publicly announced. He was injured by Nyeusi while attempting to avenge his mother and sister.
Mari (Ecavi) - Upper-middle Class daughter of Tyfu and b*****d of the King, she sought to take down Nyeusi as revenge for her mother's death. Killed by Nyeusi.
Internal Rebellion - Living within the pride
Ota (Ecavi) - A huntress in the Lower-middle Class, Ota is a seer and has a general sense of the ultimate fate of Shangyue and the pride following his takeover. She, with the help of best friend and fellow seer, Kamia, kept quiet watch over the pride and worked with Meshach and his rebels to start building support. Though she has a known association with Kamia, her major role in the rebellion remained a secret until it was safe for Meshach to return to the pride and for her to identify herself as one of the leaders.
Kamia (Ecavi) - A huntress in the Lower-middle Class, Kamia was a victim of an unpleasant encounter with the king that resulted in the birth of four healthy High Class cubs. Already at the head of the internal rebellion, and concerned for her cubs, she took them outside the pride to the external rebel camp-- only to have them all found out. Like Ota, she is a seer, but took a quieter role in the rebellion after being marked as a clear threat.
Umepatwa (Ecavi) - One of Shangyue's illegitimate sons by Kamia, he was never truly considered noteworthy by the Loyalists and he knew it. After growing up waiting for the rebels to strike he grew tired and started his own group, determined to get this done. His open hatred for the monarch made it impossible for his band of rebels to remain secret, though few took them seriously until he helped organize a strike among the pride's hunters. He was killed during the civil war by his own suspected half-brothers, Chunyue and Dwyllodrus.
Ndogo (Saint Sergio) - Shangyue's other illegitimate son by Kamia, he's been much better about keeping a calm public persona. Little is known or suspected of him since Umepatwa was the vocal malcontent.
Uchanjaa (mouselet) - A guard in the high class, one of a very small number of lions who openly opposed Shangyue on the night of his coronation. Though he was the only one who remained in the pride, he never made any more attempts to take down the king-- he was one of a few troublesome lions in the pride under surveillance from the start. Killed by Shangyue after intervening in a duel between the king and Meshach.
Nyeusi (mouselet) - A huntress in the lower-middle class that, to most casual observers, seemed to have lost her mind completely. She firmly believed that Shangyue's actions caused the Great Lion to turn his back on the Mwezi'Johari, and that the only way to correct this was to remove him from the throne. With an unkempt appearance and a flair for dramatic speeches, even the most serious of her assertions were hard to take seriously-- but she was never deterred. She survived numerous assassination attempts and was responsible for the death of one of Shangyue's illegitimate daughters.
Batu (nessiaing) - A guard in the middle class, Batu was a relatively new member of the pride when the rebellion was starting. He is a fiercely loyal lion that gives his all to those he cares about and will fight for what he believes is right. He joined the pride shortly after meeting Meshach and acted as the external rebellion's primary internal contact.
Kimondo (Ecavi) - The eldest daughter of Ota, Kimondo accidentally befriended Prince Liuhe and was ultimately assigned to keep an eye on him. She also made it her personal mission to help him see their perspective (since she believed he may yet be king) and to have him help her see his (since there must be more to this than she learned from her mother). She stayed completely out of the spotlight until the very end, when she intervened in the fight between Shangyue and his sons so they would not have to be the ones who killed him. Her involvement is known but credit is typically given to the former princes, Liuhe and Yueyun.
Orion (Ecavi) - A Low Class lion who was originally coerced into becoming a Royal Guard for reasons unknown by any except Shangyue. He reluctantly remained a part of the royal guard until he was asked to participate in the assassination of Uchanjaa, his estranged father-in-law. He is best known for killing Shangyue's most violent supporter, Tyfu, in the ensuing fight.
External Rebellion - Living on the borders
Meshach (magnadearel) - Formerly a prince in the Mwezi'Johari, Meshach was the leader of the little rebellion that was attempted at Shangyue's coronation. He was injured and allowed to leave the pride, but he didn't go far. He lived quietly on the borders of the pride until he was discovered by the pride after offering sanctuary to Shangyue's illegitimate children and would-be heir. He returned to the pride once it was secured by the internal rebels and issued a challenge for the throne, which he lost. Still, he is credited with keeping the rebellion alive, even when many did not know he was there.
Nketa (mouselet) - Shangyue's true illegitimate heir by Kamia, Nketa was a secret doppelganger of the shaman apprentice Antara. She was a bitter young lioness who resented that shewas stuck the rebels' pawn and separated from her family. Though she returned to the pride prior to the assassination of the King and been reunited with her twin (and other family), her fate remains a mystery. Since Liuhe abdicated, she has made no move to step in- or out.
Notes
The plan is to have Shangyue overthrown by summer so the pride can return to a peaceful state! Getting there is the hard part, but I'll be doing my best to keep it interesting! There will be OOC prizes (characters) and IC prizes (notareity, ranks) along the way .. and a surprise at the end!
Summary: A strike is called by hunters of all classes. With the support of a few hunt leaders and a few high class non-hunters, they spend the night chatting, laughing and recruiting. A few surprising guests show up, giving many hope that there is a chance that even royalty, even his own legitimate children, may not stand with King Shangyue.
Summary: Shangyue's response to the Hunter's Strike is swift, merciless and primarily unsuccessful in accomplishing anything but sending the pride into chaos. He orders the deaths of many known Rebels but the Loyalists are the ones who suffer the greatest losses with multiple high profile deaths and countless defections. The King manages to keep his throne but his future looks grim as the violence begins to die down and the Rebels, now in control of a large portion of the pride's territory, start to plan their next steps.

Summary: With the vast majority of the pride siding with the rebels, the conflict reaches its peak. Meshach returns to the pride to challenge Shangyue for the throne but fails when the king sends someone to injure the older lion before they can fight it out. Meshach's life is spared when Uchanjaa throws himself into the fray, ultimately paying with his life. The rebels are forced to capitulate and accept Shangyue as their king.
Princes Yueyun and Liuhe, however, see the opportunity to end things now that Shangyue is worn down so they send for help and ambush their father. The king is subdued but, for their frantic efforts and lack of training, the princes are unable to end it. Thankfully, Kimondo arrives and makes short work of it.
Summary: With Shangyue dead and Prince Liuhe refusing to take the throne, the pride suddenly finds itself at a standstill. As Shaman and someone who remained neutral during the conflict, Lailah K'chol is tasked with appointing a successor to the throne. With heirs of Shangyue, both legitimate and illegitimate, refusing to make a claim, campaigning begins in the High Class with Lailah's twin sister and a great grandson of Unyezi being the only stand-out candidates.

Summary: After some time, Lailah K'chol finally makes her choice and names Kimondo the new Queen of the Mwezi'Johari, leaving the young lioness born early in the Rebellion the task of sorting through the remnants of Shangyue's loyalists and determining how to get the pride back on the right path.
