Like all things in life, the herd started small. It started with one lone soquili trying to make her way in the world. Or at least, that is what she would like you to believe. Drith, strode across the plains finally rid of the restraints of her former herd "The Skull Rabbit's" and she couldn't have been more eager. She was out to conquer the world and show the patriarchal society she grew up in that mare's too could be more than just pawns to create more stallions.

However, it wasn't long before Drith realized that she may not be the most suited of mare's to take on the world outside of the Aa-wi-u-s-di plains. For one, she was a lot smaller than the average sized mare, let alone stallion, and after several less than ideal encounters she knew that she couldn't take on the world alone. She needed to find a minion. Luckily for her, she had just the right amount of spunk, luck, and cockiness to get her through her first life changing encounter. Xanti, a full sized mutant hound, spent his days as most wild hounds do, filling his belly... More to Come

Solidarity
Drith would like to think that the herd is solidly behind her ruler-ship; however that is just not the case. Although she suspects there may be a few malcontents she has not thought another is actively trying to usurp her rule. The recent arrival of her old rival Zylphia has brought discontent to the group. Despite Drith's attempts to dispel any residual bad feelings, Zylphia is spreading rumors in order to take over the herd for herself.

Travel
The group is nomadic and constantly on the move, never staying in one place for more than a week or so. Unless they have injured or a newborn, in which case, the group will stay approximately one month before moving out. They venture from the Eastern to the Central Forest, from the plains to the edges of the mountains.

Family Dynamics
The herd is completely open to all types of relationships. Poly groups, lifemated pairs, & same-sex couples are all common in the group. There is absolutely no discrimination in regards to family dynamics. It's all completely normal and accepted.

Foals & Pregnant Mares
More than once in the past, baskets have gone missing from the herd. Since then there has been a strict "preggo mares / baskets / foals stay in the center of the group rule" for protection. Mares who are not a part of the herd are welcome to stay with the herd after giving birth for the raising of the foals / permanently if desired; though mainly they tend visit but not stay on a continual basis. The foals are required to stay with the herd until adulthood, at which point they are allowed to leave the herd permanently or become a visiting member as well if they so desire. The herd will not ever force a grown adult to stay, but they will not let them leave as a foal for safety reasons.

Familiars
Familiars are treated with the same attitude as the other herd members. There is a strict "Not Food" policy that all members of the herd agree to, and no familiars would ever be eaten even in the most desperate of times.

Currently there are no unbonded familiars in the group, and it would be doubtful for one to join. Unless of course, they could provide something that the herd just couldn't do without, or they have enough intelligence or strength to challenge the herd before they became lunch.

Familiars are mostly used as scouts in herd. Being smaller and more agile, they work as the eyes and the ears of the group and keep look-out for any malicious individuals / groups.

Drith has three concerns: Staying the leader of the herd, increasing the herd's strength and keeping the herd together. She will do pretty much anything to achieve these goals, even if her decisions aren't always morally acceptable. Originally she ruled the herd with an iron fist, but after Malice entered her life, her judgement has been more fair. Her acts are becoming less self serving and more geared towards the good of the herd. She is less likely to butt into others affairs without there being a good reason, and she has raised & mentored more than one foal in her time as herd leader. Her views on sexism have mellowed and both males and females are treated equal within the herd.

Malice is like the North star of the herd. A mellow, somewhat distant, guiding light. He's much more inclined to observe others before entering into their affairs. Yet, when he does intervene, others tend to listen to him as he chooses his words wisely and doesn't speak unless he has thoroughly considered all implications/effects his words may cause. For this reason, he is also the tactician of the herd and plots how the group should overcome an obstacle.

Xanti is a hound, but he is no longer the rampaging monster he once was. Mostly he's concerned with protecting the herd, eating & following his mates. So long as he isn't consumed with bloodlust he can make rational thoughts and decisions. He doesn't interact with all the herd members, but has a select few he is close with. His days are centered on the here and now, fighting for the well-being of the group.

Protectors
Guard & Hunt

In charge of:
Protection of the herd
Providing food for the carnivores in the herd

Nefarious (or Neffy) loves being a protector. He inherited his mother's smarts and his father's dog-like personality. He absolutely loves being responsible for guarding the group, chasing off predators and hunting down prey. He takes it very seriously, and loves the thrill / adrenaline rush that comes with fighting off something "evil". He gets along with pretty much all of the herd members and non-threatening outsiders, though his main focus is always his duty. He can fall into a blood-lust state, same as Xanti but he usually can be knocked out of it quite easily.

Ixiker is super intelligent but he inherited a less than ideal set of personality quirks that has made him a bit of a problem child. Firstly, he's loyal, but he doesn't follow Drith's lead due to the constraints he thinks she has placed on him. For this reason, he's currently following Zylphia's lead and working behind his own parent's backs to divide the herd. Secondly, he has a sadistic personality as occasionally lets his prey suffer instead of swift killing as he likes to toy with them. He's also one of the most aggressive to outsiders...in order to gauge their reactions.

Major Plot #1

Division & Derision

Zylphia holds a grudge against Drith for past perceived wrongsdoings.

Zylphia, Kezia and Vesia's triplet, grew up with her brothers and Drith as childhood friends. Although never as loud or forceful as the others, she had the same "I don't care what you want / think, I'm doing my way" attitude. She was generally the sweetest of their little group and would be the first to aid others and try to cheer others up.

When Drith left her previous rabbit skull herd it caused a backlash within the community. Fear rapidly swept the group, and stricter rules were forced onto the herd. Instead of being allowed free will to come and go, the herd began to operate more like a dictatorship with the eldest male making decisions individually for each soquili. He chose mates, he decided friendships and he segregated those he did not care for. Kezia & Vesia snuck away quite soon after Drith left, leaving Zylphia alone with these new rules. Zylphia, always a strong willed mare, pushed at the boundaries of these new constraints and was continually in hot water with the Patriarch. Finally, she could not take anymore and slipped away in the night. Sad and confused, Zylphia began to search for her brother's and Drith. She traveled the soq lands by night, listening for tales of other skull rabbits venturing into the world...Along her journey, something happened (to be revealed later) which altered her personality. Cursed, the whites of her eyes turned black and her left eye began to glow with an eerie green light. Her outward change in appearance mirrored the change within her. Bitterness & rage began to consume her heart. She started going out of her way to approach other soq and use them to her will. She started to become manipulative. She started to want to become a leader, a dictator, without any regard for those she trampled on along the way.

It was soon after she realized her ambitions that Zylphia finally stumbled upon her brother's & Drith. At first Zylphia was impressed by the number of followers Drith had accumulated + her ability to control the mutant hound; however it wasn't long before jealousy, bitterness for being left behind and the need to take over the herd drove Zylphia. So she started to plot. She would tear apart the herd from the inside. Her first minion would be Whisk, a pix-imp whose unrequited love for Drith made her an easy target. After hanging around the other mare, coaxing the friendly pix-imp to her side, Zylphia grew a real attachment to Whisk. That attachment soon grew into love and it wasn't long before the two were lifemated. When with Whisk ...
