Pride/Pack History:
Long ago, before the first know plague struck the southern tip of Africa, four prides lived in a time of War. Each of these prides was new into the area - families settling into an area with similar strength.

The four great clans were in a stalemate - each with a great leader presiding over them. Coraggio, Fidelitatis, Consillio, and Dolosus.

The families that joined with Coraggio were inspiried by his bravery, a powerful kind he would be if he could take over these lands. They were warriors at heart, and believed they had a sole right to the lands. The golden lion characteristically sported a mane of flames, according to legend.

Fidelitatis was a small wild dog with a powerfully kind heart. The beautiful dog was simply a beatiful gold in nature, with eyes as back as coal. She worked hard with what she did, and the families that followed her to the lands loved her and adored the hardworking area. She believed they should split the lands against everyone to make for a peaceful home. Unfortunately, the others ignored her.

An strong-minded female - Consillio - conterbalanced the others. The glue and bronze cheetah had a stragetic mind, and could no doubt out-manuever the other leaders with her mind. The families that followed her cared much about learning and the workings of the area, meticulous and studious. With their leader quick on her mind as well as her feet, they had a way to take the lands for themselves.

The last pride leader, Dolosus carried families skilled with poisons and healing, hoping to take over the area by killing off the other prides that would get in the way. The green male with marks of silver believed the lands were rightfully his, claiming them left to him from his father.

And so they fought. Their fighting was a stalemate - each leader looked on in horror ask their numbers dwindled, none winning and none losing, but no one wanted to give in, no one wanted to leave the lands.

On twentieth day of the third spring of the war, a small white lion stepped forward as the leaders turned to fight each other. He had sad, silver eyes. None recognized the cub though, as he looked upon them. "I am Patronus," he said with a tired voice, like that of an elder. As though he saw to much in his life for one so young. And he had. He shook his head, as if patronizing them without words. "Is this what you do?" He asked, his voice pleading. "Fight? All the time? Can't you see you need eachother?" He asked as stars glittered from his eyes. He shook his head again, disgusted and limped away. Yes, that's what the great leaders needed. Someone to tell them how wrong they were.

So instead of gnashing at one another's throats, they came together, setting aside their difference to come together. They fit together wonderfully, and they could grow from eachother. So they mixed, forming a close bond with eachother.

This many springs, bringing new lives into such a wonderful coalition.

However, the children of the leaders held a bitter hate for each other and harbored the hate in their children. Generations for hatred continued down the line until one of the houses decided to do something. Nertodenecro he called himself, a member of Dolosus. His hate was so strong for the other house leaders, so one night - he brewed poisons, perfect for each of the leaders and killed them in the night.

He was clever though. He played on the other's leaders strengths to make the deaths look as if they came from members of the other houses - fleeing himself. The coalition wrought up in chaos, blame was cast on each of the houses and fighting commenced once again. Anger and mourning clouding sympathy and love. Couples were split in the fray and killed if caught together.

Once again, the pride dwindled in numbers until only a few remained, and they to fled from the lands they once called their home. One female, a young cheetah, found his unacceptable. She grew strong in the time of fighting, looked over by the familiar of her mother - a serval. Hetal'Aspasia, she was called, her caretaker Konata.

With the last straggling fighters, they were separated. Hetal was lost, confused. The daughter of a leader - the heir to a coalition that no longer existed.

She traveled aimlessly until the coalition could be reformed.

Her luck was changed upon meeting a tired seer called Mufasa who foresaw the pride's re-formation. They banded together, newly inspired and seeping with energy, they pulled together a pride with new ideas on how to work together. To depend on each other.

Slowly, the life began to return to the coalition, to the lands at the tip of the continent. New life would begin.

However, disaster struck the pride's lands soon after they banded together and they scattered to the winds once again. A fire blazed the lands, forcing the entire pride to run.

However, a few found their way back to the lands, the life they had before still strong on their minds. The previous leader was nowhere in sight and neither was their Sortier.

Appearance and Species

This is a mixed pride. Any and all regular SoA may join this pack. Everyone is welcome! All regular SoA can be in any house based on what their skills lay.

Familiars
Most members have a familiar and aid them in their job.

Religion

Quadrivium: The whole of the pride worships five gods in total. Each house has their patron god or goddess, while the entire pride praises the god of unity, who they call Partonus. They celebrate the God of Unity for bringing them together and keeping them together for so long. Since Unity and Togetherness is valued in this pride, the entire pride gets together for a week each year and celebrates the pride's existence in the name of Patronus. Togetherness is, not only valued, but the is the wheel that keeps the pride running. SEE Celebration of Unity

Most of the inhabitants worship two gods - Patronus and their patron god, but cubs that are born within a single house and are sorted into a different one often can be heard saying the name of three of the god/desses. Patronus is seen as the Unitor, being the first Regalis after the time of the creators. He united the four prides into one, creating Legio. SEE History

Coraggio: The God of Courage is the patron of this house. Coraggio, the patron god, is seen as a huge courageous lion, amiable and brave. The creatures of this house see him as their patron god due to his traits. The warrior god is seen differently by each creature of the pride. Coraggio is said to be one of the founders of the pride before it fell apart the first time. The members of this house generally pray to his being before they go out on a hunt, wage war, fight, and through the birth of their children.

Raising Pups and Cubs

Cubs are to be educated about all houses of the pride. They will live in their parents house with them until they reach the age of juveniles. Cubs are educated by the Philologus who are responsible for taking the cubs to each house so they can see what the other houses are like and what all the jobs of the pride are. The Sortitus also informs them of the different houses. All cubs are viewed as wonderful, even if they resulted from a fling or and outer-pride breeding. They are raised in equal opportunity for any rank their future may hold.

When cubs reach their Juve stage, they are taken to the Sortitus and given a permanent house.

Ranks
All ranks may be held by any gender or species

Quadrivium
The following ranks are general and don't belong to any set house.

Regalis (Head Master/Mistress): The up most leader of the pride... they are not involved in the day to day running of each house, they are there to insure the smooth operation of the entire pride and only get involved in a house hold if it is an extreme cases. They are generally unbiased and have a sense of leadership. When everything is running smoothly they can be seen walking throughout the houses. The Regalis deals with outer-pride relationships and treaties. The next Regalis is normally chosen by the Regalis or the Sortitus, since the Consuasor may not always become the next Regalis.

Consuasor (Deputy Headmaster/mistress): The right hand man (or women) to the Regalis. They are there to keep the Regalis informed of issues within the pride. If there are issues that a pride member feels needs the Regalis' attention must first apply through the Consuasor. Small issues go through the consuasor first before getting to the Regalis, f it can be solved by them. They are kindly, and unlike the Regalis or Sortitus, they come from any of the four houses, normally chosen for leadership and problem solving abilities. They are appointed by the Regalis.

Sortitus (Sorting Hat): *Must be a Seer*. The Sortitus is the one who leads the Sorting Ceremony. The Sortitus is thought of as to have special abilities to be able to see where a members belong best. They are valued greatly within the pride and will usually walk trhough the houses to chat with the children. The Sortitus's second job is to help the cubs make an unbiased choice if s/he cannot make a clear descision.

Novus (Youth): Despite having a 'general' rank, the cub stays with his/her parents until they become juves. Cubs are very important as they are the future. They take time to stay in every house to see the individual runnings of each. They're usually taken by their parents or the Sortitus to take them through the entire pride. They are given the basic teaching and outlines of each job. However, the most important is playing - cubs are urged to play because once they are sorted, time play goes down by a lot. After all, the cubs will be the future of the pride.

Sopitam: Default rank for adults and adolescents who haven't been sorted into a house yet.

Coraggio

Regius (Head of House): The Regius is the leader of the house he or she resides in. They are responsible for over seeing their houses activities and keep everything in order. They must be willing to comunicate with other houses to ensure the smooth running as a pride. As each house depends on the next for survival. This position has leadership skills and the ability to solve problems without jumping the gun, so to speak.

Cuius (Head Boy/Girl): The mate of the Regius, they are sometimes responsible for some management of the house, but they must obey the Regius just as everyone else in the house. The Cuius will help gather information on problems and will keep the Regius up to par with the happenings of the house. They will, more often then the Regius, go to the Regalis or Consuasor if they run low on supplies of if there is a problem within the house that cannot be solved. Despite being the mate of the Regius, they should have a sharp mind, for they also have to inform the Sortitus of a birth soon after it happens.

Procer (Prefect): The heir to the Regius. The heir is not necessarily the biological child of the Regius as the biological children may be sorted into other houses. The Regius reserves the right to choose who is their heir. An heir is named when he or she is after they have been sorted. The Procer from here learns the deep runnings of the pride and their house, along with leadership and problem solving skills. They are usually chosen before adolescent, since at that stage, the housling must choose a job and further their studies in that chosen career.

Venator (Hunter): The hunters sustain the nutrition of the pride. They usually form hunting groups as not to exhaust themselves. Hunters bring back the food for the entire pride to feast, be it fish, land-prey or avian. Bravery is important in the field as many travel far or even fight off scavengers to have the meal brought back the the pride. Many eat at the sight first before bringing the remainder back.

Militis (Warrior/Knight): Militi are charged with fighting battles with rival prides. They will either invade or protect the pride. While there may not be many of these, they are specifically trained in the art of war. They don't mind blood or fighting, and will often spar in an open field to become stronger. They will sometimes travel away to test their strengths against other, larger creatures.

Curator (Guard): The Gurator train with the others of his house. They patrol the borders and are security at festivals and events. They are paired with a Quaero (Scout) in case of violent encounters and are the brute strength of the pair.

Discipulus (Apprentice): A Discipulus is a Adolescent that has decided their job and trains specifically in that role. Their teacher is normally one-on-one based, unless two of a litter wish to be of the same rank or their are many wanting to be of the rank. A creature remains this rank until they are ready, rather then age.

Fidelitatus

Regius (Head of House): The Regius is the leader of the house he or she resides in. They are responsible for over seeing their houses activities and keep everything in order.

Quaero (Scout): The Quaero are meant for scouting out the area surrounding them for further resources and lands. They report directly to the Regalis and Regius when they scout free land. Coadunatio (Liasion): Coadunatio deliver messages within the pride and keep relations with neighboring prides. They're trained in language skills and usually are found outside the pride. They are incharge of carefully crafting messages to and from foreign prides/packs and are usually the first to know of a forming pride/pack in the area. Their stories are meant to teach morals while not always being realistic (aka fairy tales).
