*NEEDS TO BE EDITED/REFINED

The Story of Sin:

Far away from the kawani lands there was a plush and fertile valley filled with life, but sharply divided. A river ran along its center, marking the boundary where the two groups dared not tread. On the one side, the Herd of the Sun, the Scions of Light. On the other, in the shadow of the mountains, rested the Herd of the Moon, Harbingers of Darkness. For years beyond memory the two sides fought until an uneasy truce was struck by the current ruling families. The Sun would stay on one side of the river and come out by day and the Moon would stay in the shadow of the mountain and come out by night. The two were not to cross the river or mingle in any way.

Among the Herd of the Moon were several ruling families. Those who had glowing eyes were considered touched by the Goddess of the Moon herself and were venerated above the others. They were each given a patch of land to govern, and the other members of the Great Herd fell into the general rule of one of these families based on where they chose to live. Ruling them all was the Royal Family, of which Sin was the eldest son and heir.

As he grew Sin saw no reason why the two herds should not be friends. Time had erased all sign of the wars that had come before. He had seen none of the bloodshed, felt none of the hatred. His family's teachings only went so far. As the young prince grew he began to explore, pushing the permitted boundaries of his family. He became adept at skirting his guards and running off alone.

It was on one such occasion early in the evening one night that he happened upon the river that divided the land. He stared into it's unusually still waters and his glowing eyes reflecting back at him - the only thing he could make out in the darkness. There was a noise and he retreated just inside the treeline nearby and saw just on the other side of the river a young filly. She seemed of an age with him and certainly no threat. He watched her a while and when it seemed she'd spotted him he took off.

But he returned. Every night he would slip the guards and go to the river to see the filly, and sure enough she would be there as well. Before long they seemed old friends.

He knew that it was wrong. It was forbidden to interact with the others, and he was technically engaged to be wed to one of the prominent families' daughters. Still, he couldn't help his feelings for the purple mare across the river.

One day she wasn't there. One day she was just gone. He couldn't stand it. So he left to track her down, following the trail of the Carousel that had mesmerized the mare - and there his real story began.

The task was much more difficult than he thought. Everyone he comes across gives him very little, telling him that he can't just find the carousel, as everyone has heard stories but has never actually seen them, that you just 'happen' upon it. Though one day he comes across someone who has seen the princess, assuming it is her from the description he gives at least, performing her stories. One story being of the tale of two herds at war and two children, friends, caught in the middle of it. They also tell him that if you listen closely enough, you can hear her singing to the moon just before the dawn.

Knowing this is her, he asks to be pointed in the direction they had last seen her in and off he goes again. While on his travels, he could hear her song, a mournful tune. When they finally meet again, it could be while she is performing. During it, she spots him but waits until after the show to approach. She would know those glowing eyes and markings anywhere. Overwhelmed with joy, nerves and fear, the happy reunion falls in to sorrow when he offers to show her the way home. She explains that she is unsure whether you can ever leave the carousel and that if they were to return, they would never be allowed to see each other again and instead, offers him a place in the carousel so that they can be together.

He doesn't wish to join the carousel, but neither could they go home. He stays with her for a time, trying to come to some sort of decision. In the meantime, Demeira finds them, and angrily demands he come home and fulfill his Duty to his herd and to her. She demands he marry her as arranged. He convinces her that Love was more important than Duty. She finally agrees and leaves. Her appearance left Sin confused and unsure of himself, but before he could get his head on straight he is visited by another ghost of his past - his Sister Kuu, accompanied by her guard Boa. Rather than try to convince him to return home, however, she suggests the two of them create their own herd - one in which those of both the Sun and Moon herds would be welcome. Memory likes this idea (particularly since she is still free to perform and doesn't have to lead the herd) and they begin building a new life. Soon, Demeira returns with her children in tow, revealing that she had found a mate and had children and was happier for her decision to leave Sin to his own love. Still, the paths she and her mate took in life drove them apart, and they amicably parted. She and her son remain with the newly formed Eclipse herd.

The Story of Memory:

Two families, the Sun herd live by day and sleep by night, they rule the plains. The Moon herd lives by night and sleeps by day, they rule the forest. The two groups have been feuding since time immemorial, yet the newer generations of both herds are growing ever more curious of one another, especially the children of the leaders.

Memory, the daughter of the Sun herd leaders, spots shadows dancing behind the trees one night. She becomes fascinated by them, staying awake until the moon is high in the sky to watch them. Their glowing eyes and markings mesmerising and beautiful. She watches from where her family sleeps for some time, until finally one night she finds the courage to approach the border but she never passes. One of the shadows seems to linger by her. When it moves, she chases it and when she moves, it chases back. The shadow is Sin, the son of the Moon Herd leaders. The two form a forbidden, yet strange friendship, even though they have never met face to face, or likely ever will (So they thought).

Memory expresses her fascination of these shadow creatures to her parents, it doesn't go well. Receiving an unexpected scolding and being warned of ever approaching them. She refrains from telling them of the new friend she has been playing with and sulks the rest of the day.

When that night came, she gathered the courage to break the border and finally meet her new friend face to face. No more chasing shadows... However when she beaks the tree line and starts wandering deeper, she hears the enchanting song of the carousel. Distracted by the melody, she follows it's call and stumbles upon the mystical members of the carousel. Completely mesmerized by these as well, she follows them and minutes turn in to hours and hours become days and when she finally realizes that she is far from home, with no way of knowing how to get back, she decides to stay in their company and join them. Hoping one day they will return to the forest and she can return home.

When her family realizes she has gone, they immediately storm the forest and accuse the Moon Herd of taking her. They argue and squabble and that is when Sin admits what he has saw. The Sun herd leaders, infuriated that the Moon herd leaders' son didn't do anything to stop her, demand that they send only their best to find and retrieve her. Sin had already gone, which the Moon Leaders blamed the Sun Leaders for. A new, bitter fight was beginning. Before it could end up in violence, Demeira steps forward and offers to go after her wayward fiance. A fierce fighter in her own right, she seemed suitable.

When Demeira shows up to demand Sin honor his promise to marry her, Memory was filled with doubt, but stayed silent, allowing her love to make his choice. Her faith was rewarded when he decided to stay with her, and everything else seemed so much less important. When Kuu and Boa also show up to suggest the new herd, Memory was happy to jump on the idea, eager to begin her life with Sin. Kuu wanted to be the alpha, and that suited Memory just fine, as she wished to continue to perform anyway. Everything being settled, they began building their new Empire.

The Feud between Sun and Moon:

There are a pair of parallel rivers with a fertile field between them that the two herds constantly fight over. It is the disputed land, where no one ends up going for fear of being attacked by the other herd. Due to this constant fear of bodily harm both herds preach how dangerous the other one is, hence the strict rules never to go near them. Lets say the adults in the herd still carry the scars and wounds from the horrible battles fought but since the young have no battles to recall they have no real fear of the other herd. The war could have lasted for generations, falling into an uneasy truce when the current leaders' generation finally decided they were tired of bloodshed. The only terms they could agree on was that no one could go to the disputed land.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Herd as it exists today:
-working on-
Mayhem & Sin take Memory back to the herd of sun once they find and 'rescue' her.
She will be reunited with her parents and they will likely celebrate with the herd.
Mayhem will resume his duty as Memory's personal guard.
The king will thank Sin for his efforts and will declare he is open to negotiations with the Moon Herd.
Memory will express her desire to marry Sin and after much debate, her father will agree.
Memory and Sin would marry and from here they could steer the herds to come together as one and form the Eclipse herd.
Memory will start to regain her memories from her childhood before the carousel and would learn the rules and traditions of her kingdom over again. She couldn't simply abandon her ancestors and her herd knowing this would dishonour her family and everything the herd stands for, since she is their heir after all. Since their marriage would be the tie between the two herds it would make sense that they were the leading figures and not one family member or the other. The herd of Sun wouldn't blindly follow a member of the Moon and I'm assuming vice versa...
Does the Moon herd have a species of pokemon that protects them? Or a collaboration of pokemon? Sun have an Arcanine's Kingsguard and I thought it would be cool if we could some day have one of theirs marry an Arcanine from the Moon to intertwine the tradition. Although I haven't figured out all the traditions for the Sun, this is where we could compromise on new ones and flesh the new herd out more.
Arcanine Kingsguard lore
In a kingdom beyond the Kawani, a neighbouring land, two ruling families warred;one of Sun and Moon. It was there Mayhem's journey took spark and it was long after the tragedy that besieged the Sun, that it truly began. His family were sworn to the king of the Sun, an oath taken by one of The First, and were deemed the Arcanine Kingsguard by the king that ruled in the era of The First. His family was one of many Arcanine families that inhabited the land and it is said that all Arcanine were either guards or warriors, fiercely loyal with oaths sworn to leaders fit of their choosing, and those that were not usually migrated to lands afar;that isn't to say those which strayed from this stereotype weren't living peaceful lives in wordless corners of the land.
His mother, Maim, was a descendant of The First Arcanine and his father, Dismember which had 'married' in to the Arcanine's Kingsguard, was a member of another well-regarded Arcanine family branded 'The Cloned.' This was not a legitimate title but one served to them by reputation and the unusual colourations and markings of their coats. They were not merciful or kind to their enemies and rumours quickly spread of their brutality brought to life by the numerous wars they had fought. They did not swear themselves to any one king as a unit but to whom had enough power and wealth to provide them with resources which would benefit them for generations to come. They were mercenaries, working together to achieve a greater goal, marrying off their children to other Arcanine families which would later work in their favour;particularly in the herd of the Sun.
A pact was struck. The Arcanine of Cursed Blood would not harm the members of the Sun and would not participate in any wars against them, so long as they would take a son of their elders to be the kings personal Guard and wed him to a daughter of their own Arcanine Kingsguard. The King, Memory's father, agreed to these terms. The uneasy peace treaty between the Sun and Moon was still fresh, wounds would take a millennium to heal and those that was in disagreement with the treaty could still act against the wishes of the herd, on either side - this alone had weighted his decision. If the truce collapsed and his armies weakened in the following war, he could call on the Cursed Blood for reinforcements;a confidence the Sun were desperate to have.
Now armed with dangerous allies, the King and his mate could rest easy. He took Dismember as his own personal guard and married him to a daughter of a leading figure within the Arcanine's Kingsguard as promised. In time, both couples produced three beautiful children. First, the newly wed Arcanine pair and then later, the King and Queen. Dismember readily took hand in opportunity and persuaded the King to have his children be their children's personal guards, as he was his. Taking it as a sign of good faith, he agreed on the basis that his oldest and eventual heir to the herd would only be guarded by the most promising of Dismember and Maim's three children. Dismember honoured the Kings request and immediately set a course of action for his children. Murder, Mayhem and Incision then embarked on a series of trials laid out by their father over many moons until the choice became clear.
Mayhem surpassed his siblings in every trial they had endured and every trial had been spectated by the King and Queen of Sun. The King was pleased with the result and the Queen suggested a ceremony in which, the herd could bear witness, Mayhem would be knighted as Memory's, the kings daughter, personal guard. It was no secret that the descendants of The First frowned on the union between their kin and the Cursed Blood and while the herd gathered and celebrated, members of the Arcanine's Kingsguard took their leave to form a parameter around the herds land.
To be continued...
Shadow, like all the poke-soquili I own, originated from a neighbouring land with her pack of other mightyena inspired soquili. Unlike most other poke-soquili who followed strict family politics and moral codes, the mightyena were free-spirits taking whatever they pleased for themselves. Wherever they roamed they would pick the area clean, leaving huge segments of the land devoid of life ( Like Scar and his pride from the lion king ). It wasn't long before the 'cloned' ( an Arcanine herd related to both Amane & Mayhem) were hired by a very powerful family ( Thinking this would be a charizard family because of the charizard valley from the animated series ) to either kill or ward them away and having no other option, the pack fled to the kawani.
The mightyena didn't change their ways and very quickly drew the attention of skinwalkers from their new land. The entire pack was wiped out, including Lea's mate and having witnessed this attack and fleeing for her life, she became sombre and empty. She met a stallion called Zoomba during this period, whom she mated with and had children and for a time, she was a peaceful creature, simply existing however the silence only allowed her more time to think and with that time, her heart darkened. She broke from her LM and took Nori with her who had been the most promising and instinctive of the two litters, leaving Sheria with no choice but to follow.
Her view of the world was twisted with revenge and she had managed to convince herself that as a species they were not strong enough, that they lacked the numbers and if she acquired both of those things then she would be unstoppable. Since then she has become resourceful, finding 'friends' in all corners of the forest to be her eyes and ears where she cannot be. I assume these friends have become her 'little birds' because she has bargained for their lives. She seeks out stallions with hardened souls or dangerous/threatening mutations in order to create murderous 'soldiers' for her army.
When she has her children, she will in the beginning be motherly, so that they learn of reward and praise and then over time she will only praise those that do good in hunts or do terrible things and leave the ones that are straggling behind to fend for themselves or to rely on their siblings for scraps ect, manipulating them in to wanting to do better or to prove themselves to her.
She chose the angels to stalk/torment and prey upon only because Evan befriended Nori as a foal and eventually joined her pack, openly confessing this to his mother and the other imps, for a short while because he felt he was better understood by them than he was by his own family. Shadow seen that they were weak and tucked away in their mountain home and believed they would be the perfect targets for her first step toward conquest, baring little consequence.
From the Moon Herd:
The Lunar King: This is the ruler of the herd. While many herds are Matriarchies the Herd of the Moon chose to maintain a Patriarchy. The King makes all decisions of the herd, with his Queen serving as support.
The Lunar Queen, High Priestess: The Queen is not only support to the King, but is the leader of their spiritual movement. For most of the herd she is the true leader, and they go to her for advice and guidance and to help connect more fully to the Goddess.
The Moonlit Prince "Sin" He is the crown prince, the heir to the herd. He will follow in his father's footsteps and lead the entire herd once he has taken a proper wife and his father decides to step down.
Priestess of Midnight, Princess "Kuu": She is the future spiritual leader of the herd, and will follow in her Mother's path.
Midnight Guard Paladin "Boa"
Other titles:
Titles are given to certain members of the nobility that serve a special role and who have influence in the herd.
The nobility:
A family is considered "noble" if they are blessed with glowing eyes. This is seen as being "touched by the Goddess" and is a good omen. Not all nobility have titles or serve any influential positions within the herd. Titles are bestowed by the King Himself. Any of the Princes or Princesses would be expected to marry from the Nobility only, and it is a great honor to be connected to the King in such a way.
Demeira: She was an insignificant daughter to a non-influential Noble family. As a ploy to gain favor and perhaps a higher title, her father arranged her marriage to the Prince.
Demeira's brother: Coming soon
Non-Nobility
The general population of the herd aren't noble, and have no glowing eyes. They range in breed, size, alignment, and color though they generally tend towards dark colors. Some are herbivores, some carnivores. As such most work either to gather or grow food, or to hunt it. There are also artisans, craftsmen, entertainers, as well as those who have chosen to devote themselves fully to the Faith.
Guard Rankings
Spiritual | Army
Paladin | Knight Commander
Irongut | Knight
Legionnaire | Sergeant
Sentry | Companion-at-Arms
Squire | Squire
Footboy | Footboy
Paladin/Knight Commander = Highest ranking officer. Paladin is direct quard to the Queen/Princess, Knight Commander is direct guard to the King/Prince. Both positions required tactical knowledge as they often send the forces out or plan where they are positioned. Paladin is highly unlikely to leave the palace while the Knight Commander would leave to lead his officers.
Irongut/Knight = Second highest ranking officer. Each oversees their own division of soldiers and acts directly on their Paladin/Knight Commanders orders.
Legionnaire/Sergeant = Third ranking officer. Typically 3-4 in each squadron. They take orders directly from Irongut/Knight and ensure the lower officers stay on task. In battle they surround the highest ranked officer as a last line of defense in case of pull back.
Sentry/Companion-at-arms = Foot solders. Do not give orders, only follows them and completes their assigned tasks.
Squire = New initiate for either side. Before they can rank up they must prove their worth by being the first to find out of threats. Basically spies. If their gathered info is sound, they will go through physical aptitude tests to see if they can progress. Some never leave this ranking.
Footboy = Someone interested in being a solder. Will often be used as whipping boys by higher ranking officers. Responsible for making sure all equipment is cleaned and brought to battle. Also keeps solders/officers quarters in line, organized, and cleaned.
**Needs work/refining - mostly info gathering at this point!**
There are three factions to the Faith. One path follows the Moon. Another follows the Sun. And a third follows the path of Unity, or Eclipse.
Worshipping the Moon: The Harbingers of Darkness
The moon is viewed in terms of the rhythmic life of the cosmos and is believed to govern all vital change. The cyclical process of disappearance and appearance of the moon is the basis of the widespread association of the moon with the land of the dead, the place to which souls ascend after death, and the power of rebirth. The lunar governance of this cycle likewise leads to association of the moon and fate.
The mythology of the moon emphasizes especially those periods when it disappears—the three days of darkness in the lunar cycle and eclipses. Both are usually interpreted as the result of battles between some monster who devours or slays the moon and who subsequently regurgitates or revives it. The interregnum is interpreted as an evil period necessitating strict taboos against beginning any new or creative period (e.g., planting or sexual intercourse). In some areas loud noises are part of a ritual activity designed to scare off the moon’s assailant.
Winter Solstice: December 20-23
Candlemas: February 2nd
Spring Equinox: March 20-23
Beltane: May Day
Summer Solstice: June 20-23
Lughnasadh: August 1st
Fall Equinox: September 20-23
Samhain (Halloween): October 31
Esbats or Full Moon celebrations.
Among ancient peoples the Moon has been a three-fold goddess of varying names; To the Romans she is Luna, Lucina, or the heavenly goddess Diana, and to the Greeks she is Selene and Artemis. In the underworld, she is Persephone or Hecate, goddess of the crossroads, ruler of magic and enchantments; in the land of the Egyptians, it is the Moon goddess Isis, "Star of the Sea" who was worshipped.
The Moon also ruled the night sky in the land of the Nile, as Nut or Nuit, the heavenly night goddess, the personification of night itself. In the far east of China she is the Moon lady Chang 'O, who was banished to the Moon for eternity.
In the study of Astrology the Moon is said to preside over the sign of Cancer. In the study of the Tarot, the High Priestess is associated with the symbology of the Moon.
The High Priestess:
I am the beauty of the green earth, and the white moon among the stars, and the mystery of the waters, and the desire of the heart of man. Call unto thy soul; arise and come unto me; for I am the soul of nature, who gives life to the universe. From me all things proceed, and unto me all things must return; and before my face, beloved of Gods and of men, let thine innermost divine self be enfolded in the rapture of the infinite...
The Triple Goddess has been adopted by many neopagans as one of their primary deities. In common Neopagan usage the three female figures are frequently described as the Maiden, the Mother, and the Crone, each of which symbolizes both a separate stage in the female life cycle and a phase of the Moon, and often rules one of the realms of earth, underworld, and the heavens.
The Maiden represents enchantment, inception, expansion, the promise of new beginnings, birth, youth and youthful enthusiasm, represented by the waxing moon;
The Mother represents ripeness, fertility, sexuality, fulfilment, stability, power and life represented by the full moon;
The Crone represents wisdom, repose, death, and endings represented by the waning moon.
The triple goddess sign is identified with Greek moon goddesses:
Artemis - the Maiden, because she was the virgin goddess of the hunt;
Selene - the Mother, for she was the mother of Endymion's children and loved him;
Hecate - the Crone, as she was associated with the underworld and magic, and so considered to be "Queen of Witches".
Worshipping the Sun: The Scions of Light
All of these groups had in common a well-developed urban civilization with a strong ideology of sacred kingship. In all of them the imagery of the sun as the ruler of both the upper and the lower worlds that he majestically visits on his daily round is prominent.
The sun is the bestower of light and life to the totality of the cosmos; with his unblinking, all-seeing eye, he is the stern guarantor of justice; with the almost universal connection of light with enlightenment or illumination, the sun is the source of wisdom.
These qualities—sovereignty, power of beneficence, justice, and wisdom—are central to any elite religious group, and it is within these contexts that a highly developed solar ideology is found. Kings ruled by the power of the sun and claimed descent from the sun. Solar deities, gods personifying the sun, are sovereign and all-seeing. The sun is often a prime attribute of or is identified with the Supreme Deity.
In ancient Egypt the sun god Re was the dominant figure among the high gods and retained this position from early in that civilization’s history. In the myth relating the voyage of the sun god over the heavenly ocean, the sun sets out as the young god Kheper; appears at noon in the zenith as the full-grown sun, Re; and arrives in the evening at the western region in the shape of the old sun god, Atum. When the pharaoh Ikhnaton reformed Egyptian religion, he took up the cult of the ancient deity Re-Horakhte under the name of Aton, an older designation of the Sun’s disk. Under Akhenaton, the sun’s qualities as creator and nourisher of the Earth and its inhabitants are glorified.
Surya is glorified in the Vedas of ancient India as an all-seeing god who observes both good and evil actions. He expels not only darkness but also evil dreams and diseases. Sun heroes and sun kings also occupy a central position in Indian mythology, where Vivasvant, the father of Yama, corresponds to the Iranian Vivahvant, the father of Yima. There is a dynasty of sun kings, characteristically peaceful, that is quite distinct from the warlike moon kings. In medieval Iran, sun festivals were celebrated as a heritage from pre-Islamic times. The Indo-European character of sun worship is also seen in the conception of the solar deity, drawn in his carriage, generally by four white horses, common to many Indo-European peoples, and recurring in Indo-Iranian, Greco-Roman, and Scandinavian mythology.
The Triple God:
The Young Lord (child) - Dawn/Sun Up
The Father (protector/warrior) - Midday/Noon
King (Sage) -Sun Down.
Kheper young god
Re appears at noon in the zenith as the full-grown sun
Atum arrives in the evening at the western region in the shape of the old sun god
Worshipping the Eclipse: The Guardians of Unity
The ancient Greeks believed a solar eclipse was a sign the gods were angry, and that it heralded disasters and destruction.
The Batammaliba people from Benin and Togo in West Africa have a legend that during an eclipse the Sun and Moon are fighting. The only way to stop the conflict, they believe, is for people on Earth to settle their differences.
In Italy some believe that flowers planted during a solar eclipse will be brighter and more colourful than at any other time. Get planting!
In this myth, the sun and the moon are fighting during an eclipse, and the people encourage them to stop. "They see it as a time of coming together and resolving old feuds and anger," Holbrook says. "It's a myth that has held to this day."
Because of its reddish color, a total lunar eclipse is sometimes called a blood moon.
Deities:
Followers on the Eclipse Path observe all six of the deities (or none at all), believing in Balance and Harmony.
Yule/Imblog/Spring Equinox – The God is a Youth who, in His adolescence has not taken notice of the Goddess who herself is recovering from His birth at Yule. She is cleansing and regaining Her maidenhood.
Beltane/Summer Solstice - The God is a mature Man and Father, holding His rightful place as the Waxing Sun. He is strong and full of vitality – ruling over the fields and animals of the land. He has reached maturity and is now courting the Goddess who has taken Him as Her consort once more. Seeds have been planted and the Goddess is Mother once again.
Lughnasadh/Autumn Equinox – The God is beginning to age and become tired. He no longer has the power and strength He once had during Spring and early Summer. He is past courting the Goddess and is content to allow the days to grow shorter and the shadows to grow long. The Goddess is now the one who has become busy in the fields making sure all is right for the harvest seasons.
Samhain – The God dies. The Goddess is a Crone-like figure and welcomes Her consort to the Underworld. She is still pregnant with the new God who is waiting to be born once again at Yule.
Ideaas
Mayhem & Sin take Memory back to the herd of sun once they find and 'rescue' her.
She will be reunited with her parents and they will likely celebrate with the herd.
Mayhem will resume his duty as Memory's personal guard.
The king will thank Sin for his efforts and will declare he is open to negotiations with the Moon Herd.
Memory will express her desire to marry Sin and after much debate, her father will agree.
Memory and Sin would marry and from here they could steer the herds to come together as one and form the Eclipse herd.
Memory will start to regain her memories from her childhood before the carousel and would learn the rules and traditions of her kingdom over again. She couldn't simply abandon her ancestors and her herd knowing this would dishonour her family and everything the herd stands for, since she is their heir after all. Since their marriage would be the tie between the two herds it would make sense that they were the leading figures and not one family member or the other. The herd of Sun wouldn't blindly follow a member of the Moon and I'm assuming vice versa...
Does the Moon herd have a species of pokemon that protects them? Or a collaboration of pokemon? Sun have an Arcanine's Kingsguard and I thought it would be cool if we could some day have one of theirs marry an Arcanine from the Moon to intertwine the tradition. Although I haven't figured out all the traditions for the Sun, this is where we could compromise on new ones and flesh the new herd out more.
Arcanine Kingsguard lore
Mayhem
In a kingdom beyond the Kawani, a neighbouring land, two ruling families warred;one of Sun and Moon. It was there Mayhem's journey took spark and it was long after the tragedy that besieged the Sun, that it truly began. His family were sworn to the king of the Sun, an oath taken by one of The First, and were deemed the Arcanine Kingsguard by the king that ruled in the era of The First. His family was one of many Arcanine families that inhabited the land and it is said that all Arcanine were either guards or warriors, fiercely loyal with oaths sworn to leaders fit of their choosing, and those that were not usually migrated to lands afar;that isn't to say those which strayed from this stereotype weren't living peaceful lives in wordless corners of the land.
His mother, Maim, was a descendant of The First Arcanine and his father, Dismember which had 'married' in to the Arcanine's Kingsguard, was a member of another well-regarded Arcanine family branded 'The Cloned.' This was not a legitimate title but one served to them by reputation and the unusual colourations and markings of their coats. They were not merciful or kind to their enemies and rumours quickly spread of their brutality brought to life by the numerous wars they had fought. They did not swear themselves to any one king as a unit but to whom had enough power and wealth to provide them with resources which would benefit them for generations to come. They were mercenaries, working together to achieve a greater goal, marrying off their children to other Arcanine families which would later work in their favour;particularly in the herd of the Sun.
A pact was struck. The Arcanine of Cursed Blood would not harm the members of the Sun and would not participate in any wars against them, so long as they would take a son of their elders to be the kings personal Guard and wed him to a daughter of their own Arcanine Kingsguard. The King, Memory's father, agreed to these terms. The uneasy peace treaty between the Sun and Moon was still fresh, wounds would take a millennium to heal and those that was in disagreement with the treaty could still act against the wishes of the herd, on either side - this alone had weighted his decision. If the truce collapsed and his armies weakened in the following war, he could call on the Cursed Blood for reinforcements;a confidence the Sun were desperate to have.
Now armed with dangerous allies, the King and his mate could rest easy. He took Dismember as his own personal guard and married him to a daughter of a leading figure within the Arcanine's Kingsguard as promised. In time, both couples produced three beautiful children. First, the newly wed Arcanine pair and then later, the King and Queen. Dismember readily took hand in opportunity and persuaded the King to have his children be their children's personal guards, as he was his. Taking it as a sign of good faith, he agreed on the basis that his oldest and eventual heir to the herd would only be guarded by the most promising of Dismember and Maim's three children. Dismember honoured the Kings request and immediately set a course of action for his children. Murder, Mayhem and Incision then embarked on a series of trials laid out by their father over many moons until the choice became clear.
Mayhem surpassed his siblings in every trial they had endured and every trial had been spectated by the King and Queen of Sun. The King was pleased with the result and the Queen suggested a ceremony in which, the herd could bear witness, Mayhem would be knighted as Memory's, the kings daughter, personal guard. It was no secret that the descendants of The First frowned on the union between their kin and the Cursed Blood and while the herd gathered and celebrated, members of the Arcanine's Kingsguard took their leave to form a parameter around the herds land.
To be continued...
Amane Cursed Blood / Wanting to get him recustomed. He was based on a clone arcanine oc of mine and incorporated him in to the lore.
~*~ Colors & Markings ~*~
Body: ( Amane ) Red base with inky black Arcanine markings. Keep the black stripe down his back up until the flick of the Arcanine's stripe on the reference picture. All Arcanine markings I would like to have an 'inky' effect. Cream fur underbelly. Randomly placed scars.
Face: Want to keep the black fade up the flat of his face and the black eye markings. I would like his ears to be the same colour too. Piercing blue eyes. A scar down the flat of his face and another across his visible eye.
Mane: Shaggy & thick fur and should cover the same areas as the Arcanine references, some strands shorter than others making it look torn in places. His fur/mane should cover 'his left' eye.
Tail: Again, shaggy, thick fur bunched up at the top, fashioned similar to an Arcanine's tail. Ends or flicks out around knee length.
Hooves/Fetlocks: Canine Paws, markings should follow Arcanine references.
Custom Items: Cloak made from the skin of a Mamoswine, tied at his chest by string/rope with Houndoom's necklace pendant and the two necklace bones hanging down either side of the pendant. Mamoswine's tusks will hang outward at either side of his neck/chest area, these will be attached to the cloak. Leg warmers made from Mamoswine's skin on all four feet, with Mamoswine's toes resting on top of the paws (they're part of the leg warmers). At the back the leg warmers are laced with Chinchou's antennae. Swinub's noses decorate the side of the leg warmers like the buttons in the reference pictures. A dagger sheath fashioned from the armour of a crawdaunt attached to his waist, feel free to work this in whichever way you think will look best. The dagger will be held in Amane's mouth, which will be made from the 'hands' or 'horn' of an Exadrill, the handle would match the sheath in some way.
All blades/bones/tusks can be drawn to a size the colourist deems suitable.
ShadowMoonLea - Extra pokemon lore
Shadow, like all the poke-soquili I own, originated from a neighbouring land with her pack of other mightyena inspired soquili. Unlike most other poke-soquili who followed strict family politics and moral codes, the mightyena were free-spirits taking whatever they pleased for themselves. Wherever they roamed they would pick the area clean, leaving huge segments of the land devoid of life ( Like Scar and his pride from the lion king ). It wasn't long before the 'cloned' ( an Arcanine herd related to both Amane & Mayhem) were hired by a very powerful family ( Thinking this would be a charizard family because of the charizard valley from the animated series ) to either kill or ward them away and having no other option, the pack fled to the kawani.
The mightyena didn't change their ways and very quickly drew the attention of skinwalkers from their new land. The entire pack was wiped out, including Lea's mate and having witnessed this attack and fleeing for her life, she became sombre and empty. She met a stallion called Zoomba during this period, whom she mated with and had children and for a time, she was a peaceful creature, simply existing however the silence only allowed her more time to think and with that time, her heart darkened. She broke from her LM and took Nori with her who had been the most promising and instinctive of the two litters, leaving Sheria with no choice but to follow.
Her view of the world was twisted with revenge and she had managed to convince herself that as a species they were not strong enough, that they lacked the numbers and if she acquired both of those things then she would be unstoppable. Since then she has become resourceful, finding 'friends' in all corners of the forest to be her eyes and ears where she cannot be. I assume these friends have become her 'little birds' because she has bargained for their lives. She seeks out stallions with hardened souls or dangerous/threatening mutations in order to create murderous 'soldiers' for her army.
When she has her children, she will in the beginning be motherly, so that they learn of reward and praise and then over time she will only praise those that do good in hunts or do terrible things and leave the ones that are straggling behind to fend for themselves or to rely on their siblings for scraps ect, manipulating them in to wanting to do better or to prove themselves to her.
She chose the angels to stalk/torment and prey upon only because Evan befriended Nori as a foal and eventually joined her pack, openly confessing this to his mother and the other imps, for a short while because he felt he was better understood by them than he was by his own family. Shadow seen that they were weak and tucked away in their mountain home and believed they would be the perfect targets for her first step toward conquest, baring little consequence.
